Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Lu Li nodded slightly and said, ”You might speculate that way, but I have vaguely touched upon the ’Creator.’ Indeed, just as Mr. Yang Zhenning described, it is not humanoid, but rather a mysterious force that shapes our Cosmos and everything within it. As for how this force came into being, honestly, even I cannot fathom it at this moment.”

Liu Kexin appeared astonished, seemingly not expecting the existence of a ”Creator” in this world.

Suddenly, she thought of something, ”Hey, why are you suddenly talking to me about the ’Creator’?”

Lu Li kissed her on the cheek and smiled, ”What I want to say is, I’m now constantly pursuing the mysteries of the world’s origin. The ’Creator’ you know, I’ve found it, and I can also become a similar ’Creator.’ However, what kind of force can create a ’Creator,’ I still can’t perceive, so in the future, most of my energy might be devoted to ’seeking the way.’ Now, do you understand what I mean?”

Liu Kexin, being very clever, understood instantly, ”Are you saying you won’t be looking for other women anymore?”

”That’s roughly what I mean,” Lu Li sighed softly, ”For me now, women do not have any significance. Whether it’s you or Julia Giannini, including Li Yajing...”

”Huh?” Liu Kexin was a bit confused, ”Do you have a child with the fiery babe too?”

”What nonsense?” Lu Li said, half-laughing, half-crying, ”Can you let me finish?”

Liu Kexin nodded obediently.

Lu Li continued, ”Before we officially established our relationship, I did have a slight flirtation with Li Yajing, and also with Julia Giannini, before we established anything, but that was in the past when I still had basic human needs. Now, I no longer have any basic human needs, so I wouldn’t look for other women. Or to put it another way, if I wanted a woman, I wouldn’t even have to look for one, I could use... hmm, let’s call it superpower reluctantly, to create a perfect woman.”

In saying this, he wasn’t lying. Unlike before, even though due to the lack of energy, he could at most create a relatively small star system, if it was just to create a woman, it would be easy.

The women created this way would have no difference in their physical structure compared to humans.

The only difference is that Lu Li couldn’t yet imbue these created bodies with a ”soul.”

This didn’t mean he couldn’t evolve life.

He could actually create an environment suitable for life to grow, and then let nature take its course to develop life.

After all, granting a ”soul” is something he temporarily couldn’t achieve.

Lu Li slowly said, ”The reason I’m saying this is for you to understand, that in the future, at least while you’re alive, I probably won’t look for new women, but will only pursue the true essence of the ’way.’ And although I have a very intimate relationship with Julia Giannini, you’re always number one in my heart. Does that reassure you?”

Liu Kexin kissed him willingly, with a smile on her face, and said, ”Yes, I’m reassured now. Honestly, if you really wanted to find another woman, like bring Li Yajing into your harem, it would hurt, but I wouldn’t be able to stop you either.”

Lu Li was amused by her, ”A harem, really? You think I want to be an emperor with a large concubine chamber?”

Liu Kexin cutely pouted, ”You already have two chambers now, just need to bring Li Yajing in, and you’ll have three. Hey, you haven’t told me yet, other than being ambiguous with Li Yajing, is there anything else between you two?”

Lu Li replied honestly, ”With her, it’s really just the ambiguity, nothing else, and that was several months ago. Ever since I left Vox, my contact with her has been much less, so how could there be anything else?”

”Good boy.” Liu Kexin kissed Lu Li’s lips again and then whispered in his ear, ”Tonight, I’ll give you a little reward.”

Halfway through her words, she seemed to remember something and changed her tone, ”Hey, tell me first, can you still... do that?”

Lu Li rolled his eyes, ”I’m not a eunuch, why wouldn’t I be able to do that kind of thing?”

”That’s good, that’s good.” Liu Kexin exaggeratedly patted her chest, ”I won’t have to live as a widow for life then.”

Lu Li couldn’t help but laugh and cry.

Though now he was indifferent to life, like thinking about wiping out aliens’ Man Race upon knowing their existence, when it came to being with his parents and Liu Kexin, he still found ”humanity.”

Lu Li thought to himself, ”Maybe that’s why I’m determined to protect Earth’s eight billion humans at all costs.”

Thinking this, he intentionally teased Liu Kexin, ”Hey, what kind of reward did you just mention?”

Brought up again, Liu Kexin blushed a bit, speaking in a voice quieter than a mosquito, reluctantly saying, ”It’s... it’s that thing you wanted me to do... with my... my mouth... which I refused before.”

Lu Li’s eyes lit up, immediately embracing her, ”Then what are we waiting for, let’s have the reward now.”

It was Liu Kexin’s turn to be amused, ”Ah, don’t be so hasty, let me take a shower first. I can’t self-cleanse like you.”

...

An hour later.

Lu Li lay in the sleeping pod, with one arm around Liu Kexin who lay in his embrace.

Liu Kexin held him and softly said, ”I wish I could hold you forever.”

Lu Li laughed, ”That wouldn’t work, once you have a kid, we’ll be a family of three, you’ll be too busy holding the baby to hold me.”

”We can hire a maternity maid,” Liu Kexin replied, raising her head, ”Hey, do you think our baby will be a boy or a girl? I’m still too early in the pregnancy to determine the sex.”

Lu Li said, ”I can check the baby’s genes to find out.”

Liu Kexin seemed eager to know, ”Quick, check, and tell me the gender of the baby.”

”Alright, don’t worry, let me take a good look at our baby.”

Lu Li sensed the fetus in Liu Kexin’s womb, intending to check if it was male or female.

After his fifth deep evolution, he had developed the ability to view others’ genes and could determine the gender of the child in Liu Kexin’s womb.

However, back then, he was busy dealing with the gamma-ray burst issue and hadn’t thought of this angle, thus didn’t determine it.

Today, upon hearing Liu Kexin bring it up, Lu Li remembered, and prepared to find out the gender of his child.

Originally, Lu Li simply intended to determine the sex of the fetus, not to observe other aspects.

Yet, as soon as he extended his perception into Liu Kexin’s womb, he immediately sensed that despite being only slightly over a month old, the fetus already had a ”soul”!

Seeing this, Lu Li couldn’t help but feel startled.

From what he knew, a fetus generally begins to form between the second and third month of pregnancy, becoming a complete person at this time.

Additionally, the fetus typically develops a heartbeat between five to six weeks of pregnancy.

At this point, the baby in Liu Kexin’s belly hadn’t fully formed or developed a heartbeat, yet had already been endowed with a ”soul”?

For Lu Li, who was so strong he could create human bodies but still couldn’t give them ”souls,” this seemed extremely incredible.

He was eager to know if other fetuses also developed this way.

If not, then it would only mean his ”genes” were unique, allowing the fetus to be endowed with a ”soul” early on.

However, if other fetuses were the same, Lu Li felt he might soon unravel the mystery of the ”soul”!

Once the mystery of the ”soul” was unraveled, what would happen next?

He could create life as powerful as he wanted.

And even perform ”soul transference” for his family and friends.

This way, his family and friends could achieve a form of immortality!

Honestly, though, these weren’t the most important things.

The most important thing was, Lu Li believed that by doing so, he would be able to explore more world mysteries, and perhaps discover the true essence of life, and the... origin of the world!
