Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 250: Chapter 140: The Juiciest Drama is a Twist

”Sister Zeng, keep trying to contact Becca. If the call doesn’t go through, send her a text, tell her we’re organizing a rescue team to save her, and she shouldn’t be afraid.”

Then he said to one of the assistants, ”Report that trending topic on Weibo, especially report the video and photos, saying they violate personal privacy.”

Then he instructed the second assistant, ”Call the police, say you’ve discovered someone being held and beaten, show them the video, and ask them to launch a citywide manhunt for this person immediately.”

The assistant hesitated for a moment and said, ”...Do we really need to call the police? Wouldn’t that make it a big deal?”

”It’s already trending at number one. Do you think this can get any bigger?” Lawrence Winters lowered his head, looking at his mobile phone, ”When reporting to the police, don’t say who it is. After all, none of these videos and photos show Becca’s face directly, we don’t want to be the first ones to admit it.”

”Is this really okay?” Sister Zeng looked at Lawrence Winters’s confident demeanor, unsure whether to trust her or not.

She had heard about her background, a graduate from the prestigious Yanda University, just graduated two weeks ago.

But her ability to handle things showed a maturity unlike someone who had just stepped out of the school gates.

Perhaps some people are naturally endowed with the power to calm others...

She silently thought, picking up her phone, ”I’ll go back to the office to make the calls.”

Lawrence Winters shook his head and said, ”Sister Zeng, stay here with me, make the calls on speakerphone.”

Then he instructed the other two assistants, ”Both of you go to the internet cafe on the first floor, use the computers and phones there, one report the video on Weibo, the other call the police, remember to act as outsiders, don’t say who you are, and definitely don’t say you know who the victim is, understand?”

”Can you really keep this under wraps? All of Weibo knows that Sister Tao has a budding rose tattoo on her shoulder because her name is Becca...” one assistant murmured, filled with doubt towards Lawrence, ”...what if things get bungled? There will be no room for redemption.”

Lawrence knew this was her first task, and it was understandable that people didn’t trust her.

She spoke with slight annoyance, ”If this really involves Becca, it’s already trending at number one, what room for redemption is there?—she might as well just quit the entertainment industry.”

”Do as I say quickly, there might still be a silver lining.”

The two assistants exchanged a glance, then hurriedly left through the door, heading to the internet cafe in the lobby on the first floor as Lawrence instructed.

Using the cafe’s computers and public phones, one started reporting the video and photos for privacy invasion on Weibo, while the other called the police, referring to the title of the trending topic on Weibo.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Winters and Sister Zeng were also busy in her office.

Sister Zeng activated the speakerphone on her mobile and repeatedly dialed Becca’s phone while also sending her text messages.

Lawrence sat in front of the computer, opened Weibo, and carefully scrutinized the pixelated photos and videos.

After a while, she asked Sister Zeng, ”Do you have a high-resolution image of Becca’s tattoo?”

Sister Zeng nodded, ”I’ll send it to you.”

She found an image on her phone and sent it to Lawrence.

Lawrence opened it on her phone and looked at it intently for a while, comparing it repeatedly with the tattoo in the photo, and finally felt assured.

She said calmly, ”Sister Zeng, send Becca one last text saying if she doesn’t come back to the company immediately, we’ll take her and someone’s collusion to deceive the company to court, and she’ll have to pay.”

Sister Zeng suddenly raised her head, ”What?! Miss Wen, I don’t understand what you mean?!”

Her heart pounded, and she felt a bit dizzy.

Could it really be as she thought?!

Lawrence replayed the video repeatedly, chatting indifferently, ”This scandal seems to damage her own reputation, but it’s actually harming us. We’re the ones getting overwhelmed with worry, while she might just come out unscathed soon, emerging whitewashed. We’ll end up neither here nor there.”

”What a ruthless move. —Does she have a grudge against us? Or did you or little Fu ever harm her?”

Sister Zeng quickly shook her head, hurriedly saying, ”No, no! The company has always promoted her, little Fu has a good relationship with her and even likes her quite a bit. Why would he harm her? I wouldn’t harm her either; I treat her like my own daughter!”

”Little Fu likes her?” Lawrence felt a stir inside and showed a slightly playful expression, ”...Is she forcing a marriage? In that case, I’ll give her a little help.”

She had seen similar situations previously while doing feng shui readings.

As long as both parties were willing, she was happy to facilitate the match.

Lawrence then changed her mind and said, ”Send her a final text, saying that if she doesn’t come back to the company immediately, she’ll never marry little Fu and will only watch as little Fu loves someone else.”
