Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 222: Chapter 127: A Step to the Top

”No way? There’s surveillance everywhere now. Where did they beat up my brother?”

”At the entrance of a restaurant. There were too many people around. I asked my brother to help check the surveillance, but we couldn’t find those suspects.”

Summer Spencer hurriedly said, ”When can I visit you? Do you have time tomorrow?”

Eva Harris checked her watch and said, ”I should be free tomorrow. Come over if you want. Sigh, I haven’t heard anything from dad, and I’m really worried...”

”Never mind, dad’s busy visiting the second wife’s family now. He doesn’t have time to worry about us siblings...” Summer Spencer said sarcastically.

”...The second wife returned to the country?” Eva Harris was a bit surprised. ”Why did she come back at this time?”

She’s been married into the Spencer Family for several years, and the second wife Ava Harlow only returned for their wedding, then went abroad again.

Summer Spencer shrugged, spun the chair around, and said with a smile, ”Of course there’s a reason. I’ll ask around and let you know later.”

Eva Harris nodded, ”Thanks, Summer.”

The two chatted casually for a while about the new collections of luxury brands this year.

Then Summer Spencer circled back to ask, ”Is my cousin still staying at your place?”

Eva Harris finally exclaimed and slapped her forehead apologetically, ”Oh, sorry, I forgot about your cousin. I was worried about your brother’s injury, and left in a hurry, leaving your cousin behind in Z City.”

”Oh, that’s alright. But if you’re not home now, letting an outsider stay there isn’t good, right?” Summer Spencer hinted, ”A young, single pretty girl staying in someone else’s home, especially when my brother has a family, I think it’s really inappropriate.”

Eva Harris understood her underlying message and remained silent for a while.

Seeing Eva Harris suddenly stop talking, Summer Spencer knew she got through to her, and added, ”Even though she’s my cousin, I have to say this. I’ve had major trouble because of her.”

She then shared the story of Molly Zimmerman at school competing for Lawrence Winters, and how she was fined ”a hundred million” by her father for standing up for Molly Zimmerman and teaching others a lesson.

In the end, not only did she fail to teach others a lesson, she ended up causing herself trouble.

Eva Harris was utterly speechless. After a while, she massaged her temples and said with a headache, ”Young girls these days are really scary. Summer, thanks for telling me, I’ll call my housekeeper right away to have Molly Zimmerman leave.”

Summer Spencer achieved her goal, exchanged a few more pleasantries, and then hung up the phone.

Eva Harris stood quietly at the entrance of the courtyard for a while, then turned back inside, planning to find Justus Spencer.

She hadn’t walked far when she saw Justus Spencer sitting in front of the East Wing corridor, on the phone with someone.

His voice was low and gentle, his expression relaxed.

She heard him say, ”...What’s up? Miss me? Haha, just a few days apart and you miss me?”

”Really miss me? I don’t believe it, show me how you miss me...”

”Everywhere miss me?”

”Hmm... you’re so sincere...”

Justus Spencer teased, clearly just playing around.

Eva Harris listened for a while to confirm Justus Spencer wasn’t serious, then felt relieved and left to call her housekeeper.

Living in her house, eating her food, drinking her drinks, and daring to covet her man. Really gutsy.

Eva Harris coldly laughed as she answered the phone, saying to the housekeeper, ”What’s Miss Zimmerman doing?”

The housekeeper quickly replied, ”Miss Zimmerman is on the balcony making a call.”

”Wait till she finishes, then have her leave. The owners aren’t home, what’s the point of her staying? They have their own house,” Eva Harris said with disgust. ”I’ll give you half an hour. After that, I don’t want any trace of her in my house!”

The housekeeper also disliked Molly Zimmerman, but knew Molly Zimmerman already had something going with Justus Spencer, so didn’t dare follow only Eva Harris’s orders, merely humored her, planning to ask Justus Spencer when he was free.

Justus Spencer’s phone was constantly busy now, showing he was on a call.

Eva Harris walked over, coughed heavily, and called out, ”Justus, it’s getting windy outside, do you want to go inside?”

Justus Spencer was startled and immediately hung up the phone, stuffing it back into his pocket.

Eva Harris acted as if she didn’t see anything, smiling, ”Shall I help you inside?”

”Ok... sure...” Justus Spencer stammered, quickly blushing.

A sense of unreality from being caught by his wife.

This was his first time secretly being with someone other than his wife, and he was still very scared.

Eva Harris smiled as she walked over and helped him squeeze back into the wing room.

Meanwhile, at their home, the housekeeper finally waited for Molly Zimmerman to finish her call, knocked on the door, and said, ”Miss Zimmerman, please pack your things, I’ll take you home.”

Molly Zimmerman was surprised, opened the door and said, ”Why send me away? I’m waiting for Kenneth to come back.”

The housekeeper found her words distasteful, smirking, ”You can come over after our young master returns. The owners aren’t home now, so we’re also going home, not staying here.”

”Oh, I see.” Molly Zimmerman thought for a while, ”Then take me back to my place.”

Her dad bought an apartment here, but after living in the large Spencer manor, returning to the previously spacious three-bedroom apartment felt like staying in a walk-in closet.

But this was only temporary. Molly Zimmerman had been taking drugs to promote pregnancy, planning to have a son, so she wouldn’t have to work, just like her aunt Hazel Winchester, and achieve instant success.

At that time, no Lawrence Winters or Kenneth Osborne would stand in her way as she easily ascended!
