Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 210: Chapter 121: Kindred Spirits at First Sight (Third Update)

Lawrence Winters gave him a serene smile, nodded lightly, and said gently, ”Mr. Johnson, pleased to meet you.”

The middle-aged man with a face full of nosebleed grumbled, ”What about me?! Why aren’t you introducing me?! — Am I not worth having a name?!”

Francis Johnson really didn’t want to introduce him, thinking he could just dodge the question and then have his subordinates take him away.

But clearly, this person didn’t accept being dismissed.

Francis Johnson had no choice but to laugh and say, ”Right, I forgot to introduce him. This is Mr. Ian Lothrop, our fund’s technical director. He oversees everything related to patents, data, and technology.”

Kenneth Osborne had never known that SSA Private Equity Fund had a technical director position, but since Francis Johnson said so, he decided to tentatively believe it.

Kenneth Osborne greeted him politely, ”Hello, Director Ian.”

Ian Lothrop glared at him, ”Hello? What ’hello’? Can’t you see my face is covered in blood?! Quickly get me some tissues! Young people today have no sense at all and still claim to be smart. Where’s the smartness? — It’s clear that human genes are degenerating, one generation worse than the last!”

Kenneth Osborne, being a titanium alloy straight man, why would he carry tissues around?

It was Lawrence Winters who took out a pack of wet tissues from her small bag and handed them over, saying, ”Mr. Lothrop, here you go.”

Ian Lothrop quickly took them, pulled out a wet tissue to wipe his face, and broke into a big smile, saying warmly to Lawrence Winters, ”You’re quite interesting, little miss. Come, let’s go upstairs and chat while eating!”

Francis Johnson: ”...”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

The two glanced at each other in confusion, seeing doubt and puzzlement in each other’s eyes.

Since when did Lawrence Winters and Ian Lothrop hit it off at first sight?

Lawrence Winters had just told Kenneth Osborne that a young man was chased and hid behind her, frightening her, which made her kick him over. She didn’t mention anything about her and Ian Lothrop.

And when Francis Johnson got the news and rushed down, Ian Lothrop already had a face full of blood.

So Kenneth Osborne didn’t know, and Francis Johnson knew even less.

But now, both knew for sure that something had happened between Lawrence Winters and Ian Lothrop earlier.

Kenneth Osborne was relatively calm, but Francis Johnson was quite apprehensive.

Ian Lothrop’s status wasn’t something he could keep under control.

If anything happened, even breaking him into pieces wouldn’t make up for the loss.

Francis Johnson wished he could immediately call Lydia Graham to have her send someone or come personally to take her beloved father away.

But looking at Ian Lothrop’s enthusiastic demeanor, it seemed even his most beloved grandson, Asui, couldn’t pull him away.

However, despite his anxiety, Francis Johnson didn’t show it outwardly.

He smiled and went upstairs together with Kenneth Osborne, watching Ian Lothrop and Lawrence Winters ahead of them, whispering, ”I didn’t expect your friend to be so lucky.”

Kenneth Osborne let out a wry smile and said, ”You haven’t seen her when she was young...”

”Why, was she unlucky?” Francis Johnson replied with a smile.

”Not just unlucky, very unlucky,” Kenneth Osborne said honestly, ”From my childhood until now, I’ve never seen such an unfortunate little girl. Fortunately, things got better as she grew older.”

Actually, it was after Lawrence Winters studied under her Uncle Nick Zeller in the Celestial Path Sect that her luck turned around.

But this was Lawrence Winters’ private affair and Kenneth Osborne couldn’t divulge it to outsiders.

Francis Johnson paid it no mind.

Children who are mischievous can indeed be somewhat unlucky when they are young.

But as they mature and understand more, things get better.

For instance, his boss Christopher Mason’s precious son, Asui, was just such a child.

Of course, one couldn’t say he had bad luck.

If Asui was unlucky, there would be no lucky kids in the world.

But he was so mischievous, from the moment he could walk his father was disciplining him, leading to him having more feelings for his uncle than his father, whom he never met, which was a headache for Lydia Graham.

Thinking about this made Francis Johnson chuckle, glancing at Lawrence Winters’ back with even more fondness.

The two went up to the second-floor private room, where Ian Lothrop was already sitting across the dining table from Lawrence Winters, deeply engrossed in conversation.

”Can I call you ’Nuo’?” Ian Lothrop asked seriously, making an exception in extending courtesy to strangers this time due to Lawrence Winters’ amazing reveal, which radically changed his view of her.

To Ian Lothrop, he maintained a curiosity for anything unknown, refusing to dismiss it as unscientific just because he didn’t understand.

To him, science was not belief but a method for exploring unknown things.

Lawrence Winters nodded, ”All my friends call me that.”

”So how did you just predict I would have a bloody disaster in the southwest direction?” Ian Lothrop asked curiously, ”Firstly, how did you determine the southwest direction? What did you use as a reference point?”

Lawrence Winters thought carefully, trying to translate sect terminology into language understandable by ordinary people.

”Mainly, I looked at your facial features. There’s a tinge of bluish white in your eyes, which means you probably haven’t gotten enough sleep recently, right? — Such a complexion can lead to unexpected mishaps.”

”And your facial features showed a bluish purple shade, which generally indicates a bloody disaster.”

”As for the southwest direction, that was located behind you at an angle from where you stood, in the direction of the restaurant’s entrance.”

”It seemed you weren’t originally supposed to enter the restaurant, but you changed your mind and paused, allowing the guy to crash into you.”

So Ian Lothrop got hit and his nose bled profusely, fulfilling the prediction of ”bloody disaster.”

Ian Lothrop was thoroughly impressed, speaking earnestly, ”You can really see colors from facial features? I can only tell if skin is dark or light, how do you perceive blue?”

Lawrence Winters was quite amazed, ”It’s really easy to spot, can’t you see it?”

”Would I ask if I could see?” Ian Lothrop exclaimed, tapping the table angrily, ”Young as you are, how did you learn all this?”

Kenneth Osborne sensed trouble and wanted to stop Lawrence Winters, but she had already blurted out: ”I’m a Heavenly Master, though not a Great Heavenly Master yet, just a Little Heavenly Master. Here’s my business card; I’m my Uncle’s disciple, and my Uncle is amazing!”

Saying this, Lawrence Winters truly pulled out two business cards from her small bag, smilingly handing one to Ian Lothrop and the other to Francis Johnson.

Kenneth Osborne closed his eyes, rendered speechless.
