Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 233: Chapter 132: If You Keep This Up, You’ll Lose Me, Baby (Third Update)

Francis Johnson’s voice was as clear and sunny as ever.

He spoke slowly and powerfully, saying, ”Right, have you already seen it?”

Kenneth Osborne nodded, ”Saw the Spencer Group’s AI company just signed foreign AI bigshot Thomas Stewart as Chief Technology Officer.”

”Hmm, have you also seen those trending searches?”

Kenneth mumbled a response, as he hadn’t actually had time to look yet.

Francis didn’t want him to have any misunderstandings or thoughts, so he immediately said, ”Our fund’s official blog will respond to this matter soon, so don’t worry.”

Then he asked, ”Where are you now? Maybe it’s better to talk face to face.”

Kenneth said hesitantly, ”I’m having a farewell dinner with classmates at the restaurant, everyone’s leaving campus and going their separate ways tomorrow.”

Hearing this, Francis couldn’t help but reminisce about his university days, so he asked, ”Who all are there?”

”There’s Nora, you’ve met her, my... good friend. Joyce Shaw, my roommate, and his fiancée, Crazy Girl, who is also Nora’s roommate. Plus Nora’s other roommate, Sister Three Billion, and Blake Leaf, the first employee signed by my company, who was also my undergraduate classmate.”

”All our own people.” Francis warmly said, ”I’ll come over and join you guys, this meal’s on me, how about it?”

”That would be great, we can go sing after eating, too.” Kenneth chuckled, ”I saw the guys already planned it.”

”Singing? Singing sounds good! Let me show you my ’little prince of love songs’ skills!” Francis said cheerfully, got the address, and drove over immediately.

...

In the private room, after Kenneth went out, Lawrence Winters immediately sent a WeChat message to his mom and uncle.

To make conversation easier, the three of them also had a small group chat.

Lawrence posted a message in the ”Warm Family” group chat: @Mom, @Uncle, I have something to discuss with you. Kenneth hasn’t found a place yet, can he stay with us for a while?

Lawrence’s mom, Gabrielle Winters, promptly responded: No problem, let him move in and stay as long as he wants.

His uncle, Nick Zeller, replied after a while: Why? Didn’t Kenneth get venture capital to start his company? How can he not have a place to live?

[Lawrence]: He probably wants to buy a house and doesn’t plan on signing a long-term lease, so he’s looking for a short-term rental to stay for a bit.

[Uncle]: Oh, got it! Sure, let him stay!

[Lawrence]: He agreed to pay rent, so I’ll collect it first, is that okay? Cute.JPG.

[Uncle]: No. Transfer the rent to me, and you keep 20% as an agent fee.

[Lawrence]: Angry.JPG. Angry.JPG. Angry.JPG. You’ll lose this baby if you keep this up.JPG.

Nick ignored her completely, because Gabrielle started talking to him.

”Big brother, let’s quickly tidy up the study for Kenneth to stay in.” Gabrielle was overjoyed, ”Looks like Kenneth isn’t entirely indifferent to our Lawrence. Maybe we should get the new house ready, including a nursery; oh dear, this place isn’t big enough, should we buy a bigger house or a villa in the suburbs?”

”It’s just a temporary place to stay, how did you get to marriage and kids?” Nick felt a bit sour, ”Suburban villas aren’t expensive, but it would make Nora’s commute two hours; can you bear letting her drive that long daily?”

Gabrielle rolled her eyes at him, ”Is Kenneth short of money for renting? He’s just trying to seize the opportunity. I also want to take this chance to observe him and see if he’s suitable for Lawrence.”

”And if he is? Do you plan to force Lawrence into this?” Nick was well aware of how ”boyfriend-phobic” his niece gets.

Gabrielle glared at him disdainfully, ”If they’re suitable, of course, I’d let them go on a date!”

Nick: ”...I thought only strangers go on blind dates.”

”Wrong, it’s people who want to develop a relationship without feelings who go on blind dates. Does knowing each other matter? Many have missed out on love because they were too familiar.” Gabrielle recalled how in her university days, she also had male classmates she got along well with.

Back then, they were just good friends and she never wondered why they got along so well.

Because he genuinely cared for her, while she just took it for granted.

They didn’t spark, giving her later the chance to meet the man she truly loved...
