Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 244: Chapter 138: First Step to Flirting Achievement Get (Third Update)

Lawrence Winters had never seen Kenneth Osborne make such an expression, and it made him feel a bit heartbroken.

She looked at him cautiously and said, ”...So, before you find an official girlfriend, we can still be friends, right?”

Kenneth Osborne looked at her, sighed inwardly, and nodded, ”Yes, of course we can.”

”That’s great. Let’s cherish the time we can be good friends! After all, such good days may decrease day by day!” Lawrence Winters raised a smile, clasped her hands at her chest, and looked up at Kenneth Osborne.

Under the early summer night sky, her face was strikingly beautiful, with an ethereal quality that set her apart from the mundane world.

Though the smile at the corners of her lips carried a pure yet cruel kindness, like a thorned rose, coming close would result in being pricked, yet staying away made it hard to abandon the beauty within reach.

Her eyes were crescent-shaped, and her pupils were dark and bright, reflecting countless starlights.

Later, Kenneth Osborne recalled that the most beautiful starlight he’d seen in his life was in the black pupils of Lawrence Winters.

...

After leaving school, everyone overnight transformed from students carefully nurtured inside the ivory tower by the world into junior office workers battered by society.

Not just the adventurous girl, but even the sister with a trillion-dollar aura began to curb her sharpness, and started adapting to the rules outside of school.

Only Lawrence Winters adapted like a fish in water, with no awareness of being a ”wage slave.”

At this time, her uncle’s meticulous upbringing over the past decade came into play.

Since the age of six, following her uncle across the country to read feng shui and people’s expressions had become her instinctive feature.

However, she read people’s expressions to understand their thoughts and make the right response, not to flatter or say things that would make her blush.

After working at NewHuman Entertainment Ltd. under the Foster Consortium for nearly a week, she finally tidied up her office to look somewhat presentable.

After work on Thursday, she returned home to find Kenneth Osborne, her mom, and her uncle were all there, and a lavish meal was already set in the dining room.

Lawrence Winters exclaimed ”Wow,” hurried to wash her hands and change her clothes, then sat down and said, ”Did mom make all this?”

She loved eating her mom’s cooking the most.

When Gabrielle Winters was younger, she didn’t really know how to cook, but over these ten-plus years, her cooking skills had improved a lot, although still not reaching those of professional chefs, not even as good as Brooke Osborne.

But Lawrence Winters just loved the dishes her mom made because they carried the taste of ”mom,” bringing a sense of home, security, and comfort.

This was a feeling that no gourmet delicacy outside could provide.

She exaggeratedly gave Gabrielle Winters a quick peck on the cheek and said sweetly, ”Mom, I love you!”

”I know, but I haven’t washed my face. Why are you kissing me?” Gabrielle Winters laughed, giving her a light slap. ”Go wash your face, then come eat.”

”Okay.” Lawrence Winters rubbed her hands. ”I just washed my hands, haven’t removed my makeup yet.”

Hearing this, Kenneth Osborne looked up at her and smiled, saying, ”...You’re wearing makeup? Can’t tell. Your skin is still that good.”

”I used a primer.” Lawrence Winters widened her eyes. ”And eyeliner; it’s good you can’t tell. I’m wearing natural makeup! No straight man can tell!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He was just paying her a compliment. Did she really think he couldn’t tell Lawrence Winters had ”makeup” on?

But her remark, ”straight men can’t tell natural makeup,” quickly made him avert his knowing gaze. He didn’t want to be labeled as ”not straight,” that could be disastrous.

Lawrence Winters turned to wash her face in the bathroom.

While she wasn’t looking, Nick Zeller gave Kenneth Osborne a thumbs-up and whispered, ”...Truly a genius, even learned this without a teacher.”

Nick Zeller, considering himself naturally wise, pondered this matter for a long time before figuring it out.

That is, when a woman asks if she’s wearing makeup, you must answer ”Can’t tell!” and then compliment her natural beauty.

Achievement of the first step to flirting: get√.

Kenneth Osborne chuckled, thinking, is there even a need to learn this?

He understood it at three years old.

When Lawrence Winters returned with a clean face, she sat down cheerfully, picked up her chopsticks and said, ”Mom, let’s eat! Uncle, let’s eat! Ken, let’s eat!”

”Nora, let’s eat.” Kenneth Osborne smiled and served her a bowl of soup first.

A nutritious bowl of soup before dinner is very helpful for weight loss.

Generally, after finishing her soup, Lawrence Winters didn’t have much appetite, eating just a few bites of greens, and a little bit of meat and fish to feel full.

However, today after her soup, she also ate a bowl of rice and more than half of a braised fish.
