Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinxue remained silent, turned her head to take a glance at Zhong Qin and Che Huan, and then followed Huo Jinnan to the second floor.

Entering the study, she glanced at Huo Jinnan’s direction, closed the study’s door, stood at the doorway, looked at Huo Jinnan, lowered her head, and did not dare to walk forward.

Huo Jinnan sat down and lifted his eyes to look at her.

Huo Jinxue clenched her lower lip.

After watching her for a while, Huo Jinnan asked, ”What are you still doing here?”

In a soft voice, Huo Jinxue said, ”Second brother, I was wrong.”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, took a drag, and with furrowed brows, his gaze shifted to the side.

Huo Jinxue looked up at Huo Jinnan, ”Second brother, about the contract, I was instigated by Fang Tong, I didn’t expect...”

Huo Jinnan looked towards Huo Jinxue.

Huo Jinxue lowered her head.

Brushing off some ash from his cigarette, Huo Jinnan said, ”You go back and think things over. As for how much money was lost due to the contract, I’ll let you know later. You will repay me bit by bit with the money you earn.”

Ashamed, Huo Jinxue replied, ”I understand.”

Huo Jinnan did not say anything more.

Huo Jinxue lifted her head, mustered her courage, and said, ”Second brother, I was actually only bothered by the fact that sister-in-law was married to Gu Jizhou before. Actually, I used to quite like sister-in-law before...”

Huo Jinnan’s gaze turned gradually colder, ”And what’s wrong with having been married?”

Huo Jinxue did not dare to bring up the matters of married life.

Huo Jinnan stared at Huo Jinxue for a while, ”I don’t care about her past. As long as she only has me in her heart while she’s with me, that’s all that matters.”

Huo Jinxue remained silent.

Exhaling a ring of smoke, Huo Jinnan said, ”I know what you’re thinking. Even if she had anything to do with Gu Jizhou, I wouldn’t be constantly dwelling on that sort of thing. Only men who lack confidence in themselves do that.”

Huo Jinxue thought of what Che Huan said, ”It’s not that he trusts me, but that he trusts himself...”

She looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Why did sister-in-law and Gu Jizhou divorce?”

Huo Jinnan put out his cigarette, ”If it were you, tricked into marriage, your husband cheats on your wedding night, he repeatedly urges you to get an abortion, then tells you your child has died right after its birth, would you still be with him?”

Huo Jinxue affirmed without hesitation, ”No... Never!”

In a low voice, Huo Jinnan said, ”Since you’re going to repay my money, with all that time in college, find a part-time job and start repaying me 1000 a month.”

”Okay.”

Huo Jinxue thought about the money Second Brother had lost and bit down hard on her lower lip.

Huo Jinnan gave Huo Jinxue a cold glance, ”Only the people at Nanyuan Villa and Che Huan’s parents know about Che Huan’s pregnancy.”

Huo Jinxue looked at Huo Jinnan cautiously, her voice much softer, ”Second brother, I won’t go around talking nonsense. Can I... Can I stay tonight to see Mom?”

Huo Jinnan stubbed out his cigarette, ”How can I trust someone who keeps making the same mistakes...”

Biting the inside of her cheek, Huo Jinxue said, ”Second brother, the perfume was given to me by Fang Tong yesterday. I didn’t know sister-in-law was pregnant, nor did I know that the fragrance was musk. I’m not that malicious, I am your sister...”

Huo Jinnan stood up and left the study, ”First floor, don’t come up to the second.”

”Yes, I know.”

Huo Jinxue followed him out of the study.

...

The next morning, Uncle Lu drove Huo Jinxue to school.

Getting out of the car, Huo Jinxue thought about the call Fang Tong had made to her last night, which she had hung up on.

Arriving at the dormitory, she called her back, ”Sister Fang, what’s up?”

Fang Tong, hearing that Huo Jinxue’s tone was normal, asked, ”Did your second brother not let you in when you went home yesterday?”
