Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan looked towards Zhong Qin with a radiant smile, ”Thank you, mom.”

Zhong Qin also smiled and looked at the book in Che Huan’s hands, ”It will take a year to finish your undergraduate studies, and by that time the baby will have been born. If you want to continue your education, you can go for a master’s degree. If not, let Jinnan find you a job.”

”Mom, it’s still early, we’ll talk about it when the time comes.” Che Huan smiled and bit her lip. If it were left to him to find her a job, she wouldn’t even need to finish her undergraduate studies. She just wanted to rely on her own efforts to later do something she enjoyed.

After an unknown amount of time chatting, Huo Jinnan came downstairs.

Che Huan looked up in his direction.

Huo Jinnan glanced over and noticed the untouched fruit on the coffee table. His gaze fell on Che Huan, ”Don’t like to eat?”

Che Huan shook her head and smiled radiantly, ”It’s not that, I was just chatting with mom and didn’t get around to it.”

Huo Jinnan took a pitaya, peeled it, and sliced it with a fruit knife, placing the slices on the nearby fruit plate and skewered one with a toothpick to offer to Che Huan.

With Zhong Qin present, Che Huan felt a bit embarrassed, blushing after taking a bite.

Zhong Qin laughed, ”I’m a little tired. I’ll go back to my room and rest for a while. Jinnan, call me when it’s time for lunch.”

Huo Jinnan responded and watched as Zhong Qin returned to her room, then sat down next to Che Huan.

Che Huan looked at him, ”You’re becoming more and more what?”

”What ’what’ is ’what’?”

Huo Jinnan sat there, glanced at the fruit plate, picked up a cherry, and ate one.

Che Huan watched him, realizing that he was truly Huo Jinnan! In fact, she had never seen men who liked eating cherries; it seemed that was something women enjoyed!

Seeing him eat another, Che Huan thought of a forum post she had seen before, ”Did you post this once?”

Huo Jinnan wiped his hands with a napkin and lifted his eyes to look at Che Huan, ”What post?”

Che Huan struggled to keep from laughing, ”My wife bought two pounds of cherries for over a hundred bucks. After washing them, she hid them in the fridge.

The next day, when I wanted to eat them, I had barely eaten two when she saw and snatched them away, saying I couldn’t eat them!

I asked why I couldn’t eat them.

She said they are so expensive that she’d feel pained if I ate them! It’s all the same to you what you eat!

I said I’m human too, I also want to eat nice things!

She said you can make do with those five bucks a pound ones from the street side, and in the end, I didn’t get to eat any!

It made me so angry! Why does she treat me like this! How can a woman be so selfish? The good stuff must only be for herself to eat! Are men not worthy of eating? Why am I unworthy of eating cherries! I’ve decided tonight while she sleeps I’m going to eat them all! I’ll fight if I have to! Who’s afraid of whom!”

Having finished, Che Huan couldn’t hold back her laughter.

Huo Jinnan looked at her, his eyes growing deeper and deeper, ”Are you this kind of wife?”

Che Huan ate a cherry, chewed for a while, her eyes brightening as she looked at Jinnan, ”Husband, come eat cherries, they’re really sweet.”

Huo Jinnan sat there, his expression cool and distant, speaking indifferently, ”They are quite sweet, eat more if you like.”

Che Huan smiled radiantly, offering him a cherry by his thin lips.

Huo Jinnan sat there, his thin lips unmoved.

Che Huan elbowed Huo Jinnan gently, ”Are you mad?”

”...”

Che Huan tugged at Huo Jinnan’s sleeve, ”I’m sorry, I was wrong.”

His voice, heavy with pheromones, burned in her ears, and Che Huan trembled uncontrollably.

”If I want to eat cherries, I’ll eat cherries.”
