Daddy Always Gets Jealous

At 2 p.m., a notice on the bulletin board of Law University exploded like a bombshell.

Wen Ru, due to her indecent private life and pregnancy, had damaged the reputation of Law University and was expelled from the school.

Upon receiving the news, Huo Jinyun had been following Qin Moting, only to find that he had no reaction at all after reading the notice!

”Qin Moting!”

When Qin Moting saw it was her again, he frowned in distaste and turned to walk away.

Huo Jinyun stood there, somewhat unable to come back to reality. Wasn’t his reaction a bit too abnormal?

Just then, a call came from the hospital, from the emergency doctor who had treated Qin Moting yesterday.

When she heard that Qin Moting’s CT scan from last night showed a brain hematoma, she asked urgently, ”What consequences will this have?”

”It depends on the location and amount of bleeding, the rate of bleeding, and whether there is combined damage to brain tissue.

...

In any case of bleeding, it manifests as an increase in intracranial pressure, presenting with headache, vomiting, increased pressure inside the eye, and in severe cases, altered consciousness, from drowsiness to deep coma. Later symptoms include brain herniation, which affects respiratory and circulatory functions, ultimately leading to death.”

Huo Jinyun thought of Qin Moting being very normal, ”No problem, he’s very normal.”

After hanging up the phone, she returned to the office and sat there, listening to everyone gossiping about Wen Ru’s situation, guessing whether the child could be Qin Moting’s.

”Of course it is. They’ve been dating for more than a decade; they’re practically our school’s model couple!”

”But you never know. Look, our school hunk hasn’t made any statement yet. Could he have been cuckolded?”

”Yeah, it’s strange.”

...

Unable to sit still any longer upon hearing all this, Huo Jinyun went to Qin Moting’s dorm. ”Last night...”

Qin Moting sat there reading a book. ”Are you leaving or not?”

Huo Jinyun smiled, ”About last night...”

”Does it concern you?” Qin Moting looked at Huo Jinyun, picked up his backpack, and left the dorm.

Huo Jinyun watched his retreating figure. Could he have lost his memory?

She remembered how in TV dramas, car accidents always led to amnesia.

She searched online and indeed found information on the subject; however, the explanations were a bit different. Regarding memory issues, there are anterograde amnesia and retrograde amnesia.

Retrograde amnesia, which is more common and related to brain tissue damage, usually resolves itself, but in rare cases, permanent amnesia can occur.

Sitting there, she contemplated Qin Moting’s reactions carefully. Could it really be such a melodramatic situation where a bump on the head last night caused him to lose his memory? Did he forget about Wen Ru?

But seemingly, he hadn’t forgotten about her.

Until the evening, Qin Moting still hadn’t taken any stand.

Thinking about the possibility of amnesia, Huo Jinyun cheerfully returned to Huo Mansion, only to see her six-year-old brother, Huo Jinnan, who was much shorter than her. ”Come here, I’ll give you a hundred yuan for pocket money, go buy some candy!”

Huo Jinnan looked at it but didn’t take it.

Huo Jinyun huffed lightly, ”Have you never seen a hundred yuan, dumbfounded?”

...

After reading the diary, Wen Ru could roughly guess what had happened from the scattered words. She initially thought his silence after her expulsion was for self-preservation, only to realize it was due to amnesia!

Back then, her mother had called her foolish, saying such a man would let her down. And sure enough, less than half a month later, her mother’s words came true; Huo Jinyun and Qin Moting had gotten engaged.

She flipped through the diary entries between the 20th and the day of the engagement but found no records! Perhaps she had been basking in the joy of victory?

Huo Jinyun, could you have ever dreamed that the arrogantly domineering young miss from those years ago would fall to such straits twenty-three years later? To be foolish or to feign foolishness!

Seeing Qin Moting push the door open and come in, she put down the diary and looked up at him. He had selectively forgotten only her!
