Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan flicked the ash from his cigarette and spoke with a chilling voice, ”On Mid-Autumn Festival, I will accompany Che Huan to the Qin family.”

The old man, reminded of the diary incident, didn’t pursue the topic. ”How is Xiaoqin’s recovery going?”

Huo Jinnan smoothed his cuff with his slender fingers, ”With a new heart, she’s finally at ease; naturally, she has improved a lot. There won’t be endless rejection reactions.”

”...”

Thinking about all the tonics Uncle Guan had brought over being returned, the elder Huo had a bitter feeling in his heart.

Huo Jinnan looked at the elder respectfully, maintaining the most basic deference a younger generation owed an elder, ”Is there anything else?”

”Oh, no, that’s all.”

The elder Huo, his temples graying, watched Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan rolled up his sleeve and glanced at his watch, ”I need to pick up Xiaowei, I’ll take my leave now.”

The elder didn’t speak as he watched Huo Jinnan put out his cigarette and get into his car until the black Bentley drove off. Only then did he slowly get back into his car, turned to Uncle Guan, ”Follow them; I haven’t seen Xiaowei for a long time. Let’s head to Yucai Kindergarten.”

”...”

Uncle Guan silently followed Huo Jinnan.

Sitting in the backseat, Huo Jinnan noticed the Huiteng following behind him; the color in his eyes deepened.

Uncle Lu reminded him in a low voice, ”Sir, the old master’s car is following us.”

”Whatever.”

Huo Jinnan, leaning back in his seat, wrapped an arm around Che Huan, thinking that today’s ultrasound confirmed twins. He turned to look at Che Huan, worried as he recalled Shen Mubai’s private advice, and he gripped her hand tightly.

Che Huan looked at him, realizing she hadn’t seen the ultrasound report. Since he came out from Shen Mubai’s, he hadn’t mentioned it again, ”It...It’s not a case of no pregnancy, right?”

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”What do you think?”

”...”

Che Huan blushed. She was treated like a national treasure by the whole family for a week, only to not be pregnant! How embarrassing!

It felt like a student who failed to deliver an answer sheet satisfactory to their teacher and parents!

Huo Jinnan held Che Huan’s hand and placed it on his pants, ”It says there’s a fetal heartbeat, with the yolk sac visible. It must mean you’re pregnant, unless you doubt the expertise of Shen Mubai, the obstetrician.”

An obstetrician?

Thinking about a male gynecologist, Che Huan bit her lip and looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Are you planning on having him deliver the baby for me?”

Huo Jinnan fiddled with Che Huan’s fingers one by one, ”How would he help?”

Che Huan glared at Huo Jinnan, ”I’m talking about delivering the baby!”

Huo Jinnan, ”I’ll deliver it for you.”

Che Huan, ”That could be fatal!”

Huo Jinnan thought of the twins and the anemia. The pregnancy was already high risk. There was hardly a chance for natural delivery, ”It’s too early to tell whether it will be natural or cesarean anyway.”

Che Huan considered this and smiled sweetly.

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”Shen Mubai said to continue taking folic acid for another three months and just keep on with the iron supplements.”

Iron supplements?

She remembered her last pregnancy when she also had to take iron supplements and had even fainted a few times...

Looking at Huo Jinnan, she didn’t bring up the fainting spells.

...

They arrived at the entrance of Yucai Kindergarten.

The little one had just come out, saw the black Bentley pull up, and joyfully ran over, leaving Qin Ruosu far behind.

Before the car door could open, the youngster tiptoed to reach for the handle.

After pulling the door open, he quickly climbed in and closed it, looking at Huo Jinnan as if to say it was a bother dealing with clingy bad luck!

Rolled down the window, Huo Jinnan looked outside. Qin Ruosu was nowhere to be seen, but he unexpectedly caught sight of Elder Huo from the Huo Family in the backseat of the Huiteng across the street.
