Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan dared not breathe, just gazing at the little one, her hand trembling as she gently stroked the child’s face over and over, carefully studying his features.

Suddenly, Huo Jinnan’s words from that night echoed in her ears—

”Eyebrows and eyes like you, nose and face shape like me”...

Yes, now that she looked, the eyebrows and eyes did indeed resemble her some, while the nose and face shape were like his!

The thought that Xiaowei was her and his child brought a different feeling surging through her heart, mixing sweetness with pride and a trace of pain.

After a long time, she took a deep breath and held the little one tightly in her arms.

The little one’s dark, round eyes spun a circle, glancing at Huo Jinnan who stood behind him and Huanhuan. Feeling Huanhuan’s tight embrace, he didn’t make a sound, just defiantly stared at Huo Jinnan, clung to Che Huan, and gently patted her back. Unable to call out ’mom’, he softly murmured ”Huanhuan”.

Che Huan closed her eyes, holding the little one, thoughts of four years of separation forced waves of pain so intense she couldn’t breathe.

”...”

Huh, no sound!

Could it be that Huanhuan didn’t like him, her well-behaved baby?

The little one pursed his lips slightly, figuring that couldn’t be it. It must have been something he did earlier that had saddened Huanhuan.

Thinking this, he took on the air of a little adult as he gently soothed Che Huan’s shoulder and touched her hair, ”Huanhuan, you mustn’t leave me behind again, okay?”

”Okay...”

Che Huan struggled to speak from her throat, and as soon as the words were out, tears once again filled her eyes.

Ouch!

Why the tears?

The little one always disliked it when girls cried, but now, he didn’t feel the usual irritation, instead, there was an ache inside him.

It turned out he couldn’t bear to see Huanhuan cry at all! Whether Huanhuan was a girlfriend or a mother.

”Huanhuan, my dear, don’t cry.”

The little one gently patted Che Huan’s back, coaxing her.

Huo Jinbei and Huo Jinxue stood to the side with expressions as if they’d seen a ghost. So their family’s Little Demon also had such a warm side to him.

The little one shot a glare at Huo Jinbei and Huo Jinxue, silently muttering in his mind: ”Stop staring!”

Huo Jinbei, looking at the little one, had thought he would be stubborn for a while longer and hadn’t expected the little one to accept the situation so quickly. Was he really willing to let his little lover go to his second brother that easily? He genuinely wondered about the size of the little one’s current inner shadows.

As he thought this, a soft and adorable voice reached his ears.

”Huanhuan, will you sleep with me tonight?”

Huo Jinbei looked towards his second brother and sure enough, the little one was not so easily defeated. There really was more to come.

Suddenly, he felt worried about his second brother’s future happiness.

Huo Jinnan sat there smoking, his gaze shifting from the little one, swept a glance at the hospital room next to them, stood up, and pushed the door open to enter.

The little one glanced at Huo Jinnan’s retreating figure, pursed his lips, ”Huanhuan, later I’ll take you to meet Grandma. We’ll tell her you’re my mom. Grandma might get so happy she could recover, right, and we have to tell your mom too...”

At this, his voice suddenly stopped. What should he call Huanhuan’s mom?

He turned his head towards Huo Jinbei.

Huo Jinbei uttered the words ”Grandma”.

The little one said ”Thank you,” contentedly leaning into Che Huan’s embrace. Alright, a mom is a mom! That settled it!

Not only did he have a mom now, but he also gained a grandma, which was wonderful.

And he would no longer have to worry about anyone stealing Huanhuan from him. No one can take away a mom!

They say a mother’s heart has room only for her children, so from now on, would he be the first in Huanhuan’s heart, with Huo Jinnan in second place?
