Daddy Always Gets Jealous

What can be done if this continues?

Bi Fu turned to Wen Hua, ”Old Wen, go and rest. The children and I will watch over her here.”

Wen Hua stood up, walked over to Wen Ru, tucked her in properly, and looked at his sister with tender affection.

Che Huan, seeing her uncle’s face covered with stubble after just a few days, felt somewhat apologetic. Looking at her mother’s haggard appearance, her heart was filled with too many indescribable emotions.

During these past few days with Huo Jinnan, she had forgotten about her uncle’s struggles and her mother.

But when she came, her mother would also send her away!

Before leaving the ward, Wen Hua turned to Che Huan, ”Huanhuan, come out for a moment.”

Che Huan saw that the team leader wanted to follow her out, so she patted its head, ”Stay here and wait for me, I’ll be right back.”

The team leader was reluctant, but seeing Che Huan’s expression, it sulkily crouched down and didn’t move.

Che Huan stood up and followed Wen Hua out of the ward.

Wen Hua led Che Huan to a less crowded area at the end of the corridor before looking at her, ”Huanhuan, do you and Huo Jinnan have a child together?”

Che Huan stopped in her tracks and looked intently at Wen Hua, wondering how her uncle knew.

Wen Hua lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, ”Why didn’t you tell your uncle before?”

Che Huan bit her lip, ”I only found out about it recently.”

Wen Hua wanted to ask what had happened five years ago, but given the relationship between an uncle and a niece, he hesitated, ”Has Gu Jizhou always known about it?”

Che Huan nodded, ”He should have.”

Wen Hua remembered the scenes from the day he left Hong Kong and, having pondered quietly over Huo Jinnan’s words these past few days, suddenly realized why the little boy looked familiar. On further reflection, he seemed to bear a resemblance to Huanhuan.

He took a few more puffs of his cigarette and asked in a low voice, ”Is it the little boy who was kidnapped last time?”

Che Huan frowned, wondering why her uncle would think it was the little guy!

She shook her head, ”It’s a girl.”

A girl?

Wen Hua furrowed his brows, knowing it was a girl, but after Huo Jinnan’s hint and thinking about the little guy’s appearance, he couldn’t help but feel that the little boy was Huanhuan’s child!

The situation seemed more complicated than he had imagined.

If his suspicions were true, not telling Huanhuan now must mean Huo Jinnan had other concerns, right?

Wen Hua looked at Che Huan but didn’t press on, ”The child wasn’t... back then.”

He didn’t finish his sentence.

Che Huan nodded, ”She should be alive, but I don’t know where. The Gu Family should know; he said there’s already some news, so we should be able to find her soon.”

...

Wen Hua was silent, but given how certain Che Huan was, the child must be alive, very likely the little boy.

If Huo Jinnan was willing to address the fact that he had a child with Huanhuan, he probably didn’t plan to keep the child’s identity secret forever.

It’s just that...

He looked at Che Huan, ”Has the little boy been living with him all this time?”

Che Huan hesitated, ”It seems so.”

If that was the case, did Huo Jinnan know that the woman he had a child with five years ago was Huanhuan?

Wen Hua was puzzled, ”Does he know who the child’s mother is?”

Che Huan shook her head, ”I’m not sure. I thought the little guy was his child with Gu Yunqing, but he said no.”

Gu Yunqing?

Wen Hua was not well-informed about the matters of the Gu Family and Huo Family, and he couldn’t figure it out. If the child really was Huanhuan’s, how did Gu Yunqing come into the picture?
