Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan watched for a while, a tear welling up beneath her eyes as she bit her lip and left the ward.

With a blurred vision, she walked to the end of the corridor, feeling aggrieved as she looked at the bustling street market in the distance.

Why did Mom have to pressure her like this?

She stood there for who knew how long when suddenly she felt an added weight on her body, looking down, she saw a man’s dark suit jacket had been placed over her shoulders.

She didn’t turn around, already sensing his presence; she closed her eyes and took a light sniff.

Huo Jinnan’s long arm encircled her waist, his hand pressing gently against her lower abdomen as he bowed his head and kissed her pale neck, ”What are you looking at?”

”Nothing.”

Che Huan spoke softly, trying to make her voice sound normal, but it was still hoarse with a hint of a sob.

Feeling his warmth, and the words of her mother in the ward echoing in her ears, what should she do?

If Mom was just angry like before, she could have persisted, but Mom was so decisive!

Huo Jinnan was silent, just caressing her hair.

After a while, Che Huan asked in a low voice, ”Can I see our daughter today?”

Huo Jinnan turned her towards him and looked down at Che Huan, ”It’s not a daughter, it’s a son.”

Not a daughter?

It’s a son!

Che Huan stood there, raising her eyes to look at Huo Jinnan, staring at him motionlessly as his words echoed in her ears, her chest heaving violently.

Huo Jinnan lifted his hand, his slender fingers gently stroking her hair, twining it around his fingers and sliding them into her hair clip at the back of her neck, his fingertips gently caressing.

Che Huan looked intently at him, forgetting to breathe, her mind flashing back to her uncle’s words that day, to Huo Jinxue’s words in the hospital, and to all the past events, suddenly, she had her answer!

”The... the little guy is... that child?”

Huo Jinnan’s eyes were deep and intense as he looked at Che Huan, silent, his large hand gently caressing her delicate cheek. He hadn’t intended to tell her just yet, seeing she was upset.

Perhaps he was also afraid of further complications and wanted to keep her close to him in this manner.

Without hearing Huo Jinnan’s voice, she still received his affirming gaze.

Che Huan’s eyes instantly welled up, tears beginning to spill, her voice becoming incoherent, ”Really... really, you... you’re not lying to me?”

Huo Jinnan stroked her cheek and hummed affirmatively.

Che Huan took a deep breath, and thinking of Gu Jizhou and Gu Yunqing, she suddenly felt terrified!

They had planned everything from the start, switched her child with their own! To deceive her, they bombarded her with old wives’ tales about craving sour or spicy food and the shape of her belly; they kept telling her she was having a girl.

Even... even in conspiracy with the doctor performing the ultrasound!

The ultrasound technician was Gu Yunqing’s person, right?

Did they deliberately tell her it was a girl?

Suddenly, she remembered the day of the kidnapping, Gu Yunqing and Gu Jizhou must have both been involved, right?

Gu Yunqing wanted to get rid of her, while Gu Jizhou, after getting involved, did he plan to use Li Li’s hand to get rid of the little guy? And he deliberately made her misunderstand Huo Jinnan?

Just looking at Huo Jinnan, she suddenly felt like she couldn’t breathe!

Gu Jizhou, Gu Jizhou, I shouldn’t have gone to the hospital that day, I shouldn’t have woken you up in that way! You went to harm my child!

Looking up briefly at Huo Jinnan, Che Huan ran past him toward the direction of the staircase, the suit jacket falling onto the corridor floor behind her.

Huo Jinnan looked down briefly, picked up the jacket, and followed after her.

Wearing high heels and running too hastily, Che Huan’s foot suddenly caught on something, and she flew forward.
