Daddy Always Gets Jealous

In recent years, Grandfather’s stance was very clear: he wouldn’t interfere in Anan’s marriage affairs.

Grandfather’s sudden change of mind must be related to the confirmed identity of the Huo Family helmsman, right?

Perhaps because of this, news of the old master’s birthday banquet leaked out early this year, so it didn’t have the usual quietness of past years. Today, many from the military and political circles, as well as the business sector, attended. Although the event wasn’t excessively luxurious, the status of those present made it impossible for the gathering to be anything but high-class.

Not only that, quite a few people brought their daughters today, probably with the intent of seeking a marriage alliance.

She scanned the banquet hall, which brimmed with beauty and fragrance, resembling a grand feast.

While greeting guests at the banquet, she pondered over the matter. Thinking of Grandfather’s admonition and seeing Jizhou’s expression, she always felt uneasy.

She gestured toward Miss Fang, whom she held in high regard.

Fang Tong glanced in Huo Jinnan’s direction from afar before raising her glass to Huo Jinyun with a smile, quickly catching on, and gracefully made her way towards Huo Jinnan in her refined gown.

Huo Bei saw someone approaching and took a closer look at the young lady’s features, which greatly resembled those of Miss Qin from years past. He couldn’t help but turn back to look in Huo Jinnan’s direction, ”Sir—”

Huo Jinnan lifted his gaze for a brief glance. This birthday celebration, indeed, made many people put in a great deal of effort.

He stood up, ascended to the second floor, and returned to his room. After closing the door, he stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the rows of luxury cars outside the Huo Mansion, and suddenly felt like a guest himself.

After standing for a while, there was a knock at the door. Without turning around, Huo Jinnan asked, ”Are you ready?”

”Yes!” Huo Bei responded, looking toward his master, who had his back turned to him.

Today, the master, complying with the old master’s request, wore a dark velvet bespoke suit. The luxurious fabric and superb tailoring further highlighted his master’s noble aura.

Huo Jinnan turned around, lifting his sleeve to look at his wristwatch, ”Half an hour to go.”

Huo Bei stood there, ”The old master calls for the sir to come down.”

Huo Jinnan lifted his gaze, swept a look at Huo Bei, and remained standing there, calmly and unhurriedly lighting a cigarette, ”Tell him I need to rest for a bit.”

Huo Bei left the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Huo Jinnan sat on the edge of the bed, slowly smoking, his eyes growing increasingly enigmatic.

Half an hour later, as soon as he reached the first floor, he immediately became the center of attention at the entire birthday banquet.

Just then, news of Jindong Group’s overall market listing spread rapidly, with rumors suggesting the biggest shareholder behind the scenes was the renowned Mr. Huo from Hong Kong.

Because the three words were shrouded in mystery, they quickly dominated financial headlines in various media outlets. The media spared no expense in extensively covering him. The cover featured a photo of a mysterious masked man dressed in a black suit, white shirt, and black tie, occupying a huge space, sparking heated discussion and driving the sense of nebulous prestige to a climax.

Soon after, an informed individual revealed that this Mr. Huo was none other than Huo Family’s second young master from Northern City—Huo Jinnan.

The circle was always small, so news traveled fast; within half an hour, many began to congratulate the old master.

”Congratulations, Mr. Huo. The young master is truly accomplished at a young age.”

...

Listening to the endless stream of congratulations, the old master was completely clueless about what was happening and suddenly felt a buzzing in his ears.

He glanced towards Huo Jinnan, walked to the side, and asked Uncle Guan in a low voice, ”What’s going on?”

Uncle Guan, too, had only just received the news. He leaned close to the old man’s ear and whispered the information.
