Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”Glad you understand,” Huo Jinnan’s gaze shifted away from Che Zhiqiang as he stepped out of the private room.

Back in the guest room, Che Huan sat there, lost in thought.

He closed the door gently behind him.

Che Huan, hearing the noise, looked up towards Huo Jinnan, ”You’re back?”

Huo Jinnan grunted affirmatively, sat on the edge of the bed, and lit a cigarette, pondering over the words Che Zhiqiang had said earlier. Although he had guessed something was up, he hadn’t expected it to be like this, a lot dirtier than he had imagined!

A slight frown formed between his eyebrows as he lifted his gaze to Che Huan.

Feeling that something was off about his expression, Che Huan bit her lip, ”What’s wrong?”

Huo Jinnan did not speak, but instead, grabbed Che Huan’s arm and pulled her close to him.

Feeling the strength in his palm, Che Huan’s brows furrowed, ”Is something wrong?”

Huo Jinnan shook his head, his eyes deep and dark as ink, ”The time I gave you to think is over. Since you haven’t given an answer, you no longer have the right to choose. Tomorrow, you’ll go back to Hong Kong with me.”

Tomorrow? So soon?

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, biting her lower lip, ”My mother...”

Huo Jinnan’s fingertips stroked her wrist bone, ”You have your household registration book and ID card with you, right?”

Household registration book and ID card?

Why is he asking about these?

Suddenly thinking of something, Che Huan looked towards Huo Jinnan, could it be to get a marriage certificate?

Afraid that she had guessed wrong, she didn’t make a sound and just nodded subtly.

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, ”Not going to ask why?”

”...” Che Huan’s face unconsciously flushed, and her voice became much quieter, ”How would I know? If you want to tell me, you will, and if you don’t, asking won’t make a difference, right?”

Huo Jinnan pulled Che Huan to sit on his lap, lowered his gaze at her, ”I’ll let you off tonight. After we go back to Hong Kong tomorrow, I can sleep with you legally.”

”...”

Che Huan looked up at Huo Jinnan, their eyes met briefly before she quickly looked away. Her heartbeat accelerated erratically. To sleep with her legally? Was he really going to marry her?

As she reached to push away her hair, Huo Jinnan grasped her hand, stopping her movement, and held it tightly in his.

Che Huan’s fingers tensed, ”Your grandfather and they...”

”I’m finding a wife, not them,” Huo Jinnan’s gaze dropped to Che Huan’s cheek, he took the cigarette butt to his lips, took a drag, and exhaled a ring of smoke that floated towards her fair cheek.

Smelling the tobacco, she felt the half of her face that had been steeped in the smoke heat up immediately!

Che Huan’s voice was very soft, ”Your family relations seem quite complicated.”

”Not that complicated, quite simple actually.”

Huo Jinnan gave Che Huan a glance, then looked away, stubbing out the cigarette in his hand, picked up the suit jacket beside him, ”I have some things to take care of tonight, go to sleep first, no need to wait for me.”

”...”

Che Huan bit her lip, her face growing redder—she hadn’t said she would wait for him!

Noticing his tie was askew, she reached out to adjust it for him.

Huo Jinnan looked down as she did so.

Che Huan’s frown deepened until she had properly fixed the Windsor knot and then looked up at Huo Jinnan, her face turning even redder upon noticing his expression.

Huo Jinnan raised his hand, his fingertips lightly brushing her cheek, ”Getting into the role early?”

”...” Che Huan avoided his gaze; she hadn’t thought that much just now! But he was really too bad, insisting on making such a comment!

His fingertips lingered on her cheek for a while, Huo Jinnan smiled faintly, removed his long fingers, put on his suit jacket, and left the guest room.

Che Huan stared blankly at his tall figure, recalling what he had just said and thinking of tomorrow, she suddenly became very nervous.
