Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”Enough, don’t say anymore!”

Wen Ru closed her eyes, remaining silent, her expression as calm as still water, yet extremely cold.

Che Huan stood there for a while, swallowing the words that had reached her lips when she heard a knock on the door. Opening it, she saw Wen Hua and Bi Fu arriving.

Wen Hua looked at Che Huan, and thinking of the phone call Nuannuan had made earlier and seeing her pale face, he gently spoke, ”Huanhuan, go back and rest with Nuannuan.”

Che Huan replied, turning to look in Wen Ru’s direction, ”Mom, I’m leaving now.”

She went out with the platoon leader and returned to the hotel with Wen Nuan.

Lying in bed, she carefully recollected her uncle’s words but couldn’t make sense of them.

After a while, she picked up her phone and checked it. It was silent, not a single call or text message.

This number had been out of use for so long, and now that she had started using it again, he was probably the only one who knew, right?

Didn’t he know that she was in Hong Kong?

Didn’t he know what she was doing right now?

Had he thought of her?

Didn’t he know that their daughter had been found?

While she was lost in thought, a message arrived on WeChat.

She opened it to find the little one had sent a string of complaints.

”So boring!”

”Huanhuan, what are you doing? I miss you so much.”

...

Che Huan chatted with the little one for a while before she learned that today was the Huo Family patriarch’s birthday banquet. Surely he went back for this, right?

Because Gu Yunqing wasn’t there, the little one was happy, with no one to bother him, ”Huanhuan, it’s a good thing that annoying woman isn’t here.”

As Che Huan caressed the platoon leader, she continued her WeChat conversation, ”Annoying woman? Who?”

The little one squeezed into a less crowded space, disliking the hustle and bustle, and pursed his lips while holding his little phone, ”You might not recognize her if I told you, she’s called Gu Yunqing, my uncle’s sister. My dad said she’s not my mom, but she’s really thick-skinned, always claiming to be my mom and wanting to marry my dad. She must be after my dad’s money!”

Che Huan stared at this message, unable to recover her senses for a long time!

Gu Yunqing claimed to be the little one’s mother, but Huo Jinnan told the little one otherwise?

Her uncle’s words echoed in her mind again~

”Huanhuan! Are you busy?”

Seeing the little one sending several messages in a row, Che Huan snapped back to reality and quickly replied, ”Not very.”

The little one continued to air his grievances, ”Huanhuan, you have no idea how annoying she is. But it’s okay, my dad said he will bring my mom back after a while.”

Bring the little one’s mom back?

The little one’s mom?

Che Huan felt a stirring in her chest, organizing her somewhat chaotic thoughts.

Gu Yunqing’s pregnancy was real back then, occurring only a few days apart from hers, and the morning sickness started around the same time.

They had gone for the four-dimensional ultrasound together; the doctor said she was having a girl, and Gu Yunqing a boy.

During that time, she craved spicy food, while Gu Yunqing craved sour.

Gu Yunqing would jokingly say ’sour for a boy, spicy for a girl’ actually made some sense, expressing envy that she was having a girl and saying that having a daughter was like having a fortune from China Merchants Bank.

...

Latter on, a few days after she gave birth, Gu Yunqing also delivered, indeed a boy, but she never saw the child’s father.

At that time, thinking her daughter was gone, she wasn’t in the mood to pay attention.

Later on, at the Gu Family, she never saw Gu Yunqing’s child; it was said he was with the father.

Back then, she didn’t understand why Gu Yunqing hadn’t married since she had the child; finally, she came to understand!

But—

Che Huan lay on the bed, frowning involuntarily; she clearly remembered Huo Jinnan telling her that the little one had nothing to do with Gu Yunqing! Besides, five years ago that night, it was she who had been with him, not Gu Yunqing!
