Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan’s brow furrowed as he strode over, grasped Che Huan’s arm, lifted her entire body, wrapped his arm around her waist and held her in his embrace, his gaze lowering for a moment, ”You can’t even walk properly.”

Looking up, she saw his noble and coldly beautiful profile, and his magnetic voice still echoed by her ear—

Che Huan’s face turned red as she quietly leaned against his chest, not making a sound.

She didn’t know if it was the scare from before or because of him, but her heartbeat was racing fast!

Huo Jinnan’s gaze shifted away from Che Huan and, holding her, he ascended the stairs.

Che Huan, seeing him about to carry her up the stairs, said, ”I’m quite heavy.”

”I could carry three of you,” Huo Jinnan replied, looking down at Che Huan as he carried her up without a change in his complexion or a break in his breath.

Reaching the ninth floor and the entrance to the ward, Huo Jinnan finally set Che Huan down.

Looking at the closed door of the ward, Che Huan suddenly became nervous, her heart beating faster and faster.

With just a push of the door, she would see the little guy, see her child with him!

But what then?

If she told the little guy she was his mother, would he believe her? Would he acknowledge her? Would he blame her?

She bit her lip, and just as her hand touched the door, she suddenly didn’t dare to push it open.

Huo Jinnan stood beside her, watching Che Huan, reached out, and firmly grasped her hand, his fingertips caressing her knuckles, ”Don’t worry, I’ll talk to him in a moment.”

Che Huan turned to look at Huo Jinnan, her lips parting slightly, not knowing what to say. She felt a strength seemingly transferred from the palm of his hand into her, and she nodded lightly, then pushed the door open to see the little guy sitting on the sofa with his legs dangling, turning his head to look in her direction.

That moment, her gaze suddenly froze, and time also seemed to stand still at that instance!

Just watching the little one, standing there, she forgot how to react, lost her ability to speak, with only one voice echoing in her heart over and over again—

The little guy is her child!

The little guy is her child!

...

Unconsciously, a thin layer of sweat covered her body.

The little guy sat there, pursed his small lips, and with wide-open eyes, looked at Huanhuan’s strange reaction.

What’s wrong with Huanhuan?

Why is she looking at him with such a weird expression? It feels so off!

Could there be something strange on his face?

He reached up to touch his face, and apart from the scab, there seemed to be nothing. He accidentally skewed the hat on his head in the process!

Just then, Huo Jinxue’s voice sounded in the living room.

”Second... Sister-in-law, you... you didn’t know before that Xiaowei was yours and my second brother’s child?”

As soon as her words fell, the entire living room suddenly grew quiet.

Huo Jinnan stood there, casting a glance at Huo Jinxue, his gaze then settling on the little guy.

The little one was fixing his hat but suddenly stopped, his large, dark eyes looking towards Huo Jinnan, ”What was my aunt just talking about?”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, his eyes lingering on Che Huan, ”Haven’t you always wanted a mom? Huanhuan is your mom.”

How could Huanhuan be his mom?

No! Impossible!

The little one looked toward Che Huan, pursing his lips, the hat in his hand falling to the ground with a soft sound upon collision.

He just stared at Che Huan, motionless.

Che Huan stood there, initially wanting to walk towards the little one but suddenly stopped, nervously looking at the little guy. She bit her lip while her heart went ”thump, thump, thump” erratically.

The little guy watched for a while, frowned, touched the back of his head, and then turned to look in the direction of Huo Jinbei, ”Uncle Jinbei, that day of grandfather’s birthday banquet, who did Huo Jinnan say my mother was?”
