Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan brushed off some ash from his cigarette, ”After all these years, she always thought you were a girl, and that you were no longer alive. Now that she knows, be kinder to her in the future, and try not to break her heart.”

The little guy pursed his lips and made no sound.

Does Huo Jinnan mean that Huanhuan is really his mother? And she thought he was a girl? Even thought he was dead?

”I’ll tell you the details after your grandmother recovers,” Huo Jinnan stood up, walked to the window, and looked outside.

The little guy stared at his back, feeling a sharp pain in his heart!

So this is what they call heartache, like it’s twisted into several hemp ropes!

After a while, he sullenly confirmed again, ”You... you’re really not lying to me?”

”...”

”Did you always know that Huanhuan is my mother?”

”...”

”If that’s the case, why doesn’t Huanhuan know I’m her baby?”

The little guy pursed his lips and stared at Huo Jinnan’s back with deeply furrowed brows!

Huo Jinnan turned around, lowered his head to gaze at the little guy, ”Right after you were born, you were taken away.”

”Who?”

The little guy stubbornly stared at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan extinguished the cigarette in his hand and tossed it into the trash can nearby, ”Gu Yunqing.”

Gu Yunqing! Is it that detestable woman?

The little guy blinked, standing there silently, just looking at Huo Jinnan.

How could it be like this?

That despicable Gu Yunqing!

Huo Jinnan leaned against the gauzy curtain, observing the reactions of the little guy, and said in a low voice, ”Che Huan has beta-thalassemia just like you. Her anemia worsened during pregnancy, and after giving birth to you, she fainted from anemia without even a chance to see you before you were taken away.”

Is that so?

The people like Gu Yunqing are so evil! They actually stole Huanhuan’s baby!

Thinking that he was that baby, the little guy stood there, not sure what to feel. Although he had always longed for a mother, he had never imagined it would be Huanhuan!

Was his first heart flutter, his first love, going to end in failure just like that?

Thinking of Huanhuan fainting right after giving birth to him felt like being pricked in the heart.

And thinking of the look of pain in Huanhuan’s eyes just now, the little guy felt tangled and guilty inside, ”You go out first, let me be alone for a while!”

”Come out early.”

Huo Jinnan glanced at the little guy, knowing he had taken it in, and stepped out of the resting room, closing the door behind him.

The little guy puckered his lips, glanced in the direction of the door, then back at the window, and sat down, shrugged his shoulders, and kicked his legs forcefully.

How can one come to terms with the fact that their girlfriend suddenly became their mother?

That damned Huo Jinnan, he knew all along, why didn’t he tell him earlier! Why wait until now, when he saw how deeply he was in love with Huanhuan!

Could it be intentional?

After thinking for a while, he felt it couldn’t be true!

But then, Huo Jinnan had always told him that Gu Yunqing wasn’t his mother!

Feeling frustrated, he picked up his little phone, clutched it tightly in his hand, and called Shen Mubai.

Shen Mubai was in his office. Seeing that it was the little guy, his gaze paused for a moment. Why didn’t he come directly to see him, but instead called?

A few seconds later, he answered the call, ”Xiaowei.”

”Uncle Shen, there’s something I want to ask you about,” the little guy looked down at his legs, morosely tugged at the disheveled hems of his trousers.

”Mmm,” Shen Mubai flipped through Zhong Qin’s medical record, listening quietly.

The little guy sighed deeply, ”What would you do, if the person you liked one day became your mother?”
