Cursed Immortality

Chapter 983: A Startling Star News

After Constant Baron-0 left, Jacob started to study the wisdom tomes she had given him. They contained all kinds of knowledge about many alchemy professions, and the minimum rank among them was Fable Alchemist. There were also four King Alchemist’s knowledge and many formulas, blueprints, and recipes.

However, after a few hours, Jacob grimaced because there was no clue about the Vitality Architect. One of the reasons he took the risk of letting Constant Baron-0 free was that he wanted information about the Vitality Architect profession.

’Just what is this Vitality Architect? It’s either an extremely secretive profession like the Soulmancer, or it might not even exist in the Middle Plains. It’s also possible that Constant Baron-0 didn’t give me the information, or it simply didn’t fall into the category of alchemy profession at all.

’I can use a wish to get information, but the price I have to pay is 150,000 years of lifespan, it’s too steep for current me, especially when that abominable bastard is after me. I can’t squander my lifespan...’ Jacob fell frustrated.

Despite his calm appearance and sudden windfall in the face of ATLAS, he didn’t forget about the Sword of Damocles looming over his head. Furthermore, he had already thought of a way to deal with his pursuer, at least until he was ready.

But that method, he thought, had too many variables and risks, and the chance of failure was extremely high; he wasn’t even sure if he could succeed in it.

However, since he was forced into a corner, he knew he had to take this risk, and for that, he needed all the power he could gather.

That’s why hunting Constants was now his only choice. He also wanted information on those Upper Plains Gods because they were after the Legendary Master Key, and he was as well.

Jacob wasn’t expecting to find himself in this sort of situation despite becoming a Quasi-Myth, and everything was going sideways ever since he had encountered the ’Hunter’.

Now, all he wanted was to take advantage of the ATLAS as much as possible before that ’Hunter’ found him.

At this moment, Jacob suddenly enveloped his body with dense purple mist flickering with lightning. It was lightning mana, and he activated his soul sense to make sure nothing could peer through it.

Once assured of the concealment, a palm-sized gray mannequin with runes carved on its body appeared in his palm. It was a Soul Puppet of Advanced Legendary Lord Rank!

Jacob acquired this soul puppet from the Soulless Ghost King’s space treasure, but since it was only a legendary lord rank, he never used it. It can’t even display 1% of a true legendary king’s prowess!

Nonetheless, in his current situation, this perfectly suits his needs. Without hesitation, Jacob activated the Soul Puppet with his Soul Force before branding his Soul Totem Sigil.

The next moment, the small Soul Puppet suddenly lit up in bright light and instantly morphed as its tiny body grew before it turned into a Soulless Ghost King, the same as Jacob sitting in front of it.

Jacob instantly felt he had another body and vision as he looked at himself as if in a mirror. Although this Soul Puppet only had 30% of the Legendary Lord’s prowess, it was a perfect substitute.

Furthermore, Soul Puppets of Legendary Ranks were rare, especially Soul Puppets above Legendary Nobel Rank. Even someone like Soulless Ghost King only had a single Legendary Lord Rank soul puppet despite living for countless years, which signifies their rarity.

’Wait a moment. Isn’t this like a perfect imitation of perfectly real biological bodies?’ This realization suddenly struck Jacob as he looked at the Soul Puppet.

’The description provided in the third phase about the Vitality Architect is that they can construct perfectly real biological bodies that mimic life down to the cellular level and can forge entire beings who possess free will.

’Although this soul puppet might not mimic life down to the cellular level, and doesn’t have free will, the concept is the same. What if Soul Puppets are a downgrade version of Vitality Architect’s bioproducts?

’After all, this Vitality Architect almost sounded like a God who can create living beings with free will. According to my knowledge, the Soul Puppets are created by alchemists with deep knowledge of Rune Artificers and apothecary professions, even magic smiths are involved.’

Thinking to this point, Jacob’s eyes turn brilliant, ’The two requirements before the Vitality Architect in Cursed Immortality are becoming a mythical Rune Artificer, and Magic Smith...is that a coincidence?

’No, nothing involving Curse Immortality is a coincidence. This means that Rune Artificer and Magic Smith might be the keys to opening the path for a Vitality Architect. It’s just that I need to figure it out...’

Jacob wasn’t expecting this sudden inspiration after activating the Soul Puppet. Nonetheless, he now suddenly had a direction to figure out what a Vitality Architect is, and with the knowledge in his hands, he knew he might get something.

After glancing at the Soul Puppet, Jacob threw the hourglass token to it and then vanished into the Infinite Space before the concealment mist faded away. The ’Soulless Ghost King’ was revealed again in the same position, holding a wisdom tome with his eyes closed as if deeply immersed in its knowledge.

Now, even if he were under scrutiny, it would be very hard to tell the difference between a Soul Puppet and his body, which was also a disguise.

Without wasting any time, Jacob started his research again with full vigor and confidence.

First, he summoned the ’specimen’ to further increase the strength of the Life Bane Wheel before sending her away. He then returned to the lab and started to study the wisdom tomes. He was going to progress no matter the odds!

While Jacob was working on his inspiration, he was unaware of what transpired in the Legendary Plains.

At this moment, a piece of startling news suddenly surfaced on the Virtual Star World, which took the entire Legendary Plains by storm.

’Star News by ’???’ (Anonymous Star ID function has been used to hide the user’s Star ID): I have found the traces of the Yang Flames, the flames of creation in the myths. If anyone wants all the data, I’m going to auction it at the Star Auction Virtual House in three days. This is not a scam since the Star Auction Virtual House is managed by the SAAI, which means SAAI has confirmed its validity and authenticity!’
