Cursed Immortality

Chapter 966: Aftermath of Chaos

A few hours after the destruction of the Demonic Fiend Fortress which was now nothing but a pitch-black abyss, the space above tear open and Immortal Nimrod clad in black walked out.

His glowing purple eyes behind the cloaked head flickered violently as he muttered, ”How unexpected, the power above rules and laws was used here, and on top of that, thereʼs a trace of destruction, annihilation, darkness, despair…so many laws…hehehehehe.” He suddenly laughed out loud as his eerie voice boomed in the silent vicinity.

”An Arcanist, and this should be the power of Chaos. A new Heir of Chaos has also appeared, and this place is within the vicinity of where the Cursed One vanished. Ah, more complications, still, Cursed One and finding the method heʼs using to hide from me remained my top priority.

”As long as the heir of Chaos stays on my path, I shall let it be, but if not, I shall let the void taste Chaos. By now, Destin Saint and his clique shouldʼve already gotten the news, but they had already used the little authority to close the gate of void, and to come here, they need to pass my territory, hehehehehe…very soon…” Laughing, Immortal Nimrod vanished.

After a few weeks, the terrifying end of the Fiend Race headquarters also started to spread all over the Legendary Plains, shocking all the factions and powers alike.

Furthermore, the remnant of the Fiend Race on other continents also learned about it, especially when they felt the protection of the Demon God Altar vanish.

The most shocked were, naturally, the Dead Faction and Vampire Race. The Vampires had no idea how this could have happened, just when they were about to swallow the Ghost Domain.

On the other hand, this news was nothing but a breath of fresh air for Ghost Domain, especially for the remaining two Ghost Kings and their forces. Although their Soulless Palace and Soul Abyss were also gone, the only ones who suffered losses were the Soulless Ghost Clan and Soul Ghost Clan.

Now, the Giant Ghost King and Shadow Ghost King didnʼt fear them and started to quickly assimilate those ghost clans into their forces while also stabilizing the Ghost Domain.

As for Vampires, they stop their crusade temporarily against the Ghost Domain and put their focus on the unclaimed territory of the Evil Domain. Since the mystery of the Fiend Raceʼs annihilation was a silent terror and source of deterrence, the Dead Faction wasnʼt interested in internal fighting anymore.

Furthermore, after a month, the Undying Will unexpectedly pardoned the Ghost Race. At the same time, the Soulless Ghost King remained a wanted traitor, and the Shadow Ghost King became the new representative of the Ghost Race and a faction leader of the Dead Faction.

The reason for this sudden change was simply that the Life Faction suddenly seemed to be pulling its forces together and gathering for a big move.

Although it wasnʼt clear, everyone believed that since Ghost Race had lost half of its strength. Fiend Race had annihilated with their subordinate races, the Dead Factionʼs power in the Sagittarius Continent was decreased by half, so it was time to claim the Sagittarius Continent, which had been the Dead Factionʼs main base for hundreds of thousands of years.

Furthermore, the Great Cosmic Continent of Sagittarius was claimed by the Life Faction to begin with, and it was filled with dark laws that were very beneficial for the Dark Beings.

Thatʼs why if the Life Faction can claim it back, it would be an absolutely fatal blow to the Dead Faction.

The entire Legendary Plains were paying attention to this upcoming clash with the Dead Faction and the Life Faction, and they knew this wasnʼt going to be a minor skirmish but a proper war between two titans!

Both Virtual Star World and Virtual Dark World were filled with heated discussion, especially by the Neutral Faction, who had their hands dipped in both sides.

---

Nyx was within the Virtual Star World, living her luxurious life while also being Jacobʼs ears and eyes.

Furthermore, she was no longer just playing around but working on comprehending the knowledge she had gained from the soul farm, especially after Jacob berated her and almost confined her to the Nightmare Realm.

Moreover, Nyx found that comprehending that knowledge within the Virtual Star World seemed to amplify the process.

Today, Nyx was holed up in her virtual mansion and absorbed in comprehension when an unexpected visitor appeared.

At this moment, her virtual female butlerʼs impassive voice sounded like, ”My Lady, Tall Blue Lady is requesting an audience. Sheʼs outside the mansion.”

Nyxʼs eyes snapped open, and a hint of surprise flashed past her eyes. ”What did that cheating swine want? Tell her Iʼm not in the mood to play today.”

”Iʼve told her, but Tall Blue Lady said itʼs not about gambling. She said she has a huge business; she wants to talk with you, which involves big money.” The virtual butler replied.

Nyx was astounded and thought for a moment before she replied, ”Take her to the guest room; Iʼll be there.”

She then got up while pursing her lips, and thought, ʼWhat does she want now? That ʼguyʼ has been in a foul mood recently and holed up in his ʼworldʼ. Iʼm afraid that if I donʼt show some result, heʼll really confine me this time. Tsk, tsk, it wasnʼt my fault this time, especially that sudden attack from that mysterious bastard, and then he even cut my vision!

ʼFurthermore, so much had happened in the Sagittarius Continent and Legendary Plains after he holed up in his world, and if I tell him, Iʼm sure his reaction wonʼt be too good. But I canʼt hide it as well.

ʼJust who is coming after us. Now that I think about it, Long Nose is in charge of information organization; she might know something. But first, I need to figure out what she wants from me.ʼ

A sharp glint flashed past Nyxʼs eyes as she vanished from her secret chamber and appeared in a spacious room with luxurious furniture.

There was her virtual butler serving tea to small Goblette, who was sitting comfortably on a sofa as if she owned the place. Nyx felt irritated as she walked over.

Tall Blue Lady, or as Nyx called her, Long Nose, seemed to have noticed Nyxʼs arrival as she suddenly commented, ”I had to admit, itʼs not a bad setup for such a small place.”

Nyx walked over, sat in front of her, and scoffed while crossing her hands around her chest, ”At least I didnʼt resort to cheating to build myself a castle! Now, before I kick your rich ass out of this ʼsmall placeʼ tell me what kind of business you want to do with me?”

However, Long Nose didnʼt reply. Instead, she glanced at Nyxʼs virtual butler before meaningfully looking at Nyx.

Nyx got her meaning and impassively ordered her butler, ”Little-1, leave us alone.”

Once ʼLittle-1ʼ retreated from the room, Long Nose finally stated her purpose: ”Tell me how much you know about the upcoming war between the Life Faction and Dead Faction?”

Nyxʼs eyes narrowed slightly as she asked with some confusion, ”Whereʼs this coming from? I know just as much as any other person in the Virtual Star World. I had nothing to do with the Dead Faction and Life Faction, nor am I interested in fishing in troubled waters.”

Long Nose looked at Nyx deeply, as if she wanted to see something. Then, she pulled a mysterious smile and said, ”Thatʼs good to hear because my organization needed precisely a person like you. Letʼs just be realistic: You are an excellent information collector, and you certainly know how to hide yourself.

”You might not have known, but you seemed to be on the Star Hackers ʼ search list as well!”
