Cursed Immortality

Chapter 972 Newfound Hope

Jacob was surprised when the marble ball from the Soul Star Watch appeared. But he kept the questions for later and quickly entered the Infinite Space without wasting a single moment.

Only when he was within the infinite space did Jacob feel safe again, and without hesitation, he entered the Nightmare Realm.

Looking at Nyx, who seemed in high spirits yet aggravated at the same time, he coldly asked, ”Explain to me how the Soul Star Watch can use teleportation.”

Nyx took a deep breath and replied, ”Whatʼs there to explain? The Soul Star Watch has this teleportation function hidden in it. I only discovered it recently myself, but since you were…umm, ʼbusy,ʼ I didnʼt report it to you then.

”Anyway, I donʼt think others know about it either, except for ATLAS. It is very well hidden in the Soul Star Watchʼs core mechanics, and the magic technology and runes used in it are unknown and probably above the Legendary Rank.

”I only gained temporary access to it with the help of the same formation Iʼve told you about. That formation can bypass the Virtual Star Worldʼs rules and authority for a certain period of time until the SAAI will notice it if we use it for a lengthy period of time and get our Star IDs blacklisted.

”But we donʼt need to worry about it because that ATLAS scion activated it with her Star ID. Iʼve told you, didnʼt I, that I was not enjoying myself back in the Virtual Star World?” Nyx stated with a hint of pride in her voice.

Also feeling somewhat courageous, she softly said to Jacob while averting her eyes, ”Look, I know youʼre not feeling confident and arenʼt yourself lately, but doing nothing is not a way to go about it. You might fear death, but what youʼve been doing is probably what the enemy wants you to do: fall into despair and lose your mind in fear.

”Iʼve known you for a long time now, and I know you always manage to find your way out of these tricky situations. You are the most capable and smartest person I know, and you are both my mentor and master, someone whom I admire in this whole messed-up world.

”So, just stop wallowing in fear and fight back. Make your enemies fear you so they can think twice before moving against you. If nothing else, nuke the hell out of that sneaky bastard!”

When Jacob heard Nyxʼs words, the violent flames in his hollow sockets jumped, and their agitation started to dissipate.

”Nuke…” Jacob muttered as his eyes became brighter. He looked at Nyx with peculiar emotion and nodded, ”Youʼre right. Staying here and sucking my thumb wonʼt help in any way. I need to fight back and increase my strength even further.”

Nyxʼs eyes brightened, and she was astounded when Jacob seemed to have taken her advice.

”S-so, youʼre going to fight back?”

Jacob shook his head, ”Not now. But I think I found a way to develop myself further and escape this predicament until I found a way to put my fear into that guyʼs heart!”

At this moment, he seemed to have slightly regained his composure and no longer considered running away or finding a shortcut.

”Now, according to you, that marble should be the ʼSpirit Ripper Formationʼ, that can create an artificial dreamscape realm, and that goblinʼs soul from ATLAS is trapped in there?” Jacob calmly asked, as he had already gathered all the information about what had transpired in the Virtual Star World.

Nyx nodded without hesitation; she seemed slightly more cheerful than before.

”Indeed, that short-bitchʼs true soul is still in that formation, which is now under my control because of my mastery over the Dreamscape Law and my absolute control over anything related to Dreams.

”Furthermore, I discovered something extremely strange. When I wanted to use the Nightmare Sepsis on her, it failed because of the hourglass assimilated with her true soul. Not only that, but even the Nightmare Conqueror Seed couldnʼt take root in her soul because of that Hourglass.

”The only reason I could think of is that Hourglass, whatever it is, is above Legendary Rank, my current rank!” Nyx showed frustration.

Jacob was also surprised, but then something suddenly came to him as his eyes flickered: ʼHow could Iʼve ignored the fact that when I was in the Unique Plains, Immortika told me that each golden hourglass was akin to 40,000 Dark Beings and 1,000 Years of Lifespan?

ʼSo, if these Hourglasses also have ranks, and the Hourglass in legendary plains are different, didnʼt this mean, I donʼt even need to go after Dark Beings, and all I need to do is hunt these bastards down?

ʼBefore, I didnʼt have any information about them, and I never caught one alive, but now, Nyx has captured a big fish, and all I need to do is confirm my theory!ʼ

”How do I gain access to this Artificial Dreamscape Realm? I need to see this ATLAS goblinʼs true soul, especially her hourglass, which is visible now.” Jacob quickly asked Nyx.

Nyx felt Jacobʼs anticipation as if he had grasped a ray of hope. She also became happy and quickly told him, ”Itʼs easy, actually. Spirit Ripper Formation is like a Soul Artifact, but strange enough, it didnʼt seem to have any spirituality, so anyone with a powerful soul force or who understands its core rules, like me, can take control of it from another.

”As long as you let it enter your soul, I can take control of it and let it enter the Nightmare Realm because of the Dreamscape Law in it. Once it entered here, hehe, that bitch is as good as trapped in her worse nightmare because in a sense that formation is a cheap imitation of my ability, the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm!”

Jacob deeply looked at Nyx before he nodded and left the Dreamscape Nightmare Realm with newfound hope and schemes.

If what he wanted to conform really turned out the way he was thinking, he didnʼt know about others, but the ATLAS of the Legendary Plains would be his target of slaughter, and this time, he was going to use every means possible to raise his Jinx Coreʼs rank and lifespan!
