Chapter 1600: Chapter 60: Damn Bastards (Part 2)

A silver-white spaceship the size of a shuttle hovered over the central platform. Countless instruments and mechanical arms tightly surrounded it. Dozens of Leray scientists and mechanics were busy around the spaceship.

Six hundred meters underground, Chuckna First Military Academy had provided Boswell with a shipyard!

An automatic mechanical arm lifted a console and approached the automatic door. Even though there was still twenty meters to go, Boswell waved at Fatty through the transparent radiation-resistant glass.

”Teacher!” Fatty called respectfully.

”Come up.” Boswell stopped in front of Fatty, gestured for Fatty and Milan to stand on the console together, then without a word, pushed the control lever, drifting toward where the spaceship was.

”Is this our experimental vessel? To take us to a new Star Domain?” Fatty held Milan’s hand, staring at the silver-white spaceship in front of him. From its appearance, the craft radiated a delicate metallic sheen and had beautiful lines, looking like a magnificent work of art. Calling it a spaceship, it was more like an enlarged Space Fighter.

It gracefully hovered in mid-air, the slender nose resembling a swan’s long neck, with small triangular double wings at the front of the cockpit and a slanting X-layout four wings at the rear end; the two juxtaposed circular jet openings made one fall in love with it at first sight, feeling its speed.

”Her name is Pioneer One. Isn’t she beautiful?” Boswell looked at the spaceship as if looking at his own child.

Fatty hugged the old man’s shoulder and nodded, ”Yes!”

”What are you here for?” Boswell glanced at his proud student, then at Milan. Milan widened her innocent eyes, glaring at Fatty fiercely.

”Do you remember the plan you told me about in Ludelit City, in the car?” Fatty looked at the spaceship intently.

”Searching for a new Eden?” Boswell suddenly turned his head, gazing at Fatty.

”Yes! I need space technology.” Fatty nodded, ”The Atlantis Star Domain likely won’t last much longer, we must execute our plan before it turns into a graveyard!”

”The new Space Jump Technology hasn’t undergone final tests yet!” Boswell frowned, ”Theoretical data isn’t enough to support our plan; we must understand, we may fail!”

”But we have to try.” Fatty took a deep breath, ”We have one month; if we give our all, perhaps we can delay the Sheldon Fleet’s entry into the Newton Star System for two months.”

”Time is too tight!” Milan shook her head worriedly, ”Even if we succeed in the Space Jump experiment in a short time, immigration will still take a long time.”

”We can’t watch Leray suffer a devastating blow...” Fatty grimaced, his expression akin to a dangerous madman, ”Before we complete our plan, I’ll make sure they become utterly exhausted at any cost!”

After discussing the details of the Space Jump experiment and the immigration plan for the Leray Federation with Boswell, Fatty hurried back to First Airport before the spaceship launched. He traversed the expansive port, where he saw a Medical Mecha and more than ten Flying Cars bearing various national flags entering the battleship’s hatch.

Fatty had no idea what Hastings urgently summoned him and Margaret back for this time. However, seeing so many Fei Alliance member country leaders accompanying, the matter was evidently not simple.

With half an hour until launch, Fatty lit a cigarette and slowly walked towards the berth.

The airport of Hanjing was always especially busy. Beyond the transparent airport shield, countless battleships and Transport Ships incessantly traversed the routes.

A giant space television floated atop the navigation tower. Its four square screens displayed news of Leifeng Star’s great victory and President Francis’s assassination on two sides, while the other two showed Chuckna’s slogans.

”No matter what hardships we face, we will fight till the end! Ancestral blessings to Chuckna!”

The image of this nation became vivid, filled with courage and vitality in this declaration excerpted from President Hill’s speech.

Thousands of battleships rallied from Chuckna’s various star systems towards the Capital. Hundreds of Chuckna Armored Divisions and Mechanical Infantry corps took giant transport ships to Hanjing.

Those highspirited soldiers left their hometown streets, carrying combat packs and weapons, lined up to depart. People waved farewell to them, parents watched tearfully as their sons went farther away, and girls covered their mouths, choked with sobs, swearing to await their lovers’ return.

The government and Military Department coordinated unprecedentedly smoothly; the entire country was like a war machine running at full throttle, speeding along a rugged, perilous road.

Factories were running at full capacity; every Mecha production line, every berth was packed tightly with production plans. Countless mineral transport ships navigated between Immigration Stars and resource stars, the strategic reserve materials of Chuckna played a vital role in this resource-scarce era, rapidly arming the nation!

Each city, including Capital Star, transformed into military fortresses brimming with shelters, underground bunkers and missile bases. Every Chuckna family prepared a medical kit, compressed food and drinking water. Private Mechas were modified by hot-tempered middle-aged men.

Perhaps Mechas equipped only with simple armor couldn’t match Military Mechas, but this at least indicated the country’s attitude—fight till the last! Fatty liked these irritable men; he knew that the country’s fighting spirit had been fully ignited. They would fight alongside the Leray Federation!

And he would face a country far more difficult to change than Chuckna upon reaching Feiyang. There, some opponents were far more vicious and brutal than Western Alliance enemies!

Perhaps it’s time for a more aggressive and intense approach to awaken that arrogant nation.

Entering President Hill’s President Ship, taking the elevator to the tenth floor of the bridge, Fatty immediately saw Margaret’s lonely, sad silhouette in the corridor.

”How is he?” Fatty gently hugged Margaret’s frail, helpless body, looking through the window into the sterile ward.

Hastings lay quietly on the bed covered with white sheets, eyes closed, pale, his body connected with various tubes. A tear dropped onto his hand, cold as winter night’s rain. Margaret already in tears spun around quickly, burying herself in Fatty’s embrace, sobbing aloud.

”Grandfather was starting to get better, but,” Margaret’s voice broke intermittently through sobs, ”President Francis’s death made his condition worsen suddenly. Uncle Francis was the person Grandfather trusted most. Grandfather always demanded reinforced protection for the President, yet even when he wasn’t in Feiyang, what he feared still happened!”

The spaceship gently swayed, the berth outside the corridor porthole gradually moved away. One after another, Chuckna and Feiyang battleships escorted this luxurious spaceship.

Fatty raised his head, looking at the frail, childlike Hastings on the bed, unable to believe that this was the pillar of the entire Fei Alliance. Without realizing, he tightened his jaw.

Damn Leefer!

Damn Barbara!
