Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1559: Chapter 43: Madman_4

The crowd standing silently in the hall, under the flickering screen light, looked like traders in a stock exchange waiting for the final showdown.

On the screen was a real-time situation map of the Leifeng Star battlefront, transferred from Chuckna Hanjing.

The battle diagram of Leifeng Star was familiar to the strategists at Headquarters. Almost every day, they hunch over the sand table, working for several hours.

Many could even close their eyes and accurately mark details of troop deployment, position elevations, unit numbers, Mecha quantities, fire points, logistics routes, and electronic superiority on a new map.

As the core leading the whole Fei Alliance, these were things they had to master. After all, Leifeng Star was the core of the Southeast War Situation. At the critical juncture of the Allies’ third troop reinforcement, any danger at Leifeng Star could cause irreparable damage to the Southeast War Situation.

However, when Hanjing sent back the real-time combat situation map to the Alliance Command Center a few hours ago, these strategists were dumbfounded.

The map was still the same, with every blade of grass on the western line of Phoenix City unchanged. However, the entire combat situation was completely different from the Leifeng Star battlefront they were familiar with.

Originally, the Resk Main Army had been firmly pinned by nearly a hundred Western Alliance Armored Divisions on the western line of Phoenix City, unable to move. The Su Jie Alliance Army, having completed reinforcements first, was attacking on all fronts. Each attack arrow appeared like a piranha opening its mouth.

With the disadvantage in manpower, the Resk Main Army had almost no strategic maneuverability. Strategists long involved in simulations of the Leifeng Star battlefront knew that the final twenty reserve divisions under Chen Fengxi were completely incapable of being deployed for a counterattack against the Western Alliance.

Soon, these reserve forces, drawn from other garrisons on Leifeng Star, would be exhausted on the western line of Phoenix City.

The Western Alliance people, with their ample manpower advantage, would not miss the opportunity of the Fei forces’ insufficient manpower. They could launch a full-scale attack at any point on the defense line, and as long as they achieved a breakthrough, the empty rear of the Leifeng Star Army would be theirs for the taking.

The Staff Department devised countless plans for the ground war on Leifeng Star, but could not break through the current tactical framework of Chen Fengxi and Pierre. This wasn’t a lack of capability from these top strategists, adept at tactics—it was simply that with enemy forces far exceeding those of the Leifeng Star Army, no tactic was secure enough.

Especially in recent days, their simulation tasks focused on how to use the existing forces to stabilize the situation west of Phoenix City, at least delaying until the Allies completed their fourth reinforcement.

A counteroffensive was out of the question; just holding off the Western Alliance’s attack was considered good enough.

No one expected that this combat map, familiar beyond familiarity, would be completely transformed now.

In the Sunset Mountain Basin, twenty Western Alliance Armored Divisions broke through Seven-star Town and Xiushui River Town, occupied the western part of the basin, and quickly advanced east along the intercity highway, launching a fierce attack on the temporary line of defense built by the Allies at Sunset Mountain.

Bellif targeting Sunset Mountain was not outside the predictions of the Staff Department. After all, the Western Alliance had already consumed much of Chen Fengxi’s Main Army’s living forces by relying on a manpower advantage in the early stages. The two-thousand-plus kilometer defense line had always been in a precarious state.

Which part of the fish on the chopping block gets hit first is quite normal.

What the Staff Department didn’t expect was that before Bellif’s attack on Sunset Mountain, he also simultaneously launched a surprise attack several hundred kilometers away at Frenso Town, and his attacking forces nearly broke through the Frenso Town defense line!

This maneuver left everyone in a cold sweat.

Bellif, worthy of being a great general of the Western Alliance. From initially tying down Chen Fengxi’s Main Army on the defense line and slowly consuming it, to launching a full-scale attack before the Fei Alliance’s third reinforcement, every step was interconnected, with deadly precision.

He calculated that the Fei Alliance’s defense line could not reallocate any forces under his full-scale pressure, and also calculated that the mobile forces in Chen Fengxi’s hand couldn’t cover two battlezones at once.

His battle plan was airtight before the assault on Frenso Town commenced; operations in all sectors continued as usual, troop deployments were silent and seamless, and there was no apparent increase in communications or logistical movements. When he acted, it was like a storm. His feigned maneuvers and blitzkrieg tactics were executed to perfection.

If Bellif’s full-scale attack left everyone in a cold sweat, seeing the current real-time situation map left everyone too stunned to sweat.

Bellif was ruthless, but the Leifeng Star Army was even more ruthless!

Chen Fengxi and Pierre, two normally steady commanders, under whose persuasion it is unknown, adopted a life-risking approach the moment they acted.

Not only did they not move their reserves to the verge-of-collapse Frenso Town, but they directly moved them to behind Sunset Mountain, preparing for a counterattack. The enemy offensive at Frenso Town was crushed to pieces by the few divisions they deployed.

Moreover, this unit, with the bandit army at its spearhead, employed a left hook exceeding three hundred kilometers in a straight line, sweeping north of Frenso Town across Six Major Battlezones.

They uprooted the Fei forces along the defense line like pulling out radishes, ignoring positional defenses. Then, with lightning-fast advances, this rapidly growing unit completed a flanking maneuver in just over twenty hours, encasing the main force of Bellif’s Northern Cluster attacking Sunset Mountain in a cage!

This was an attempt to devour Bellif’s main force in one bite!

Everyone was left staring, slack-jawed, by this insanely bold plan. In Aksa Fortress, where the Staff Department had thousands of strategists and countless great generals, even the craziest ones never conceived such a battle plan.

The western line of Phoenix City had already become an irreversible defense system. Everyone knew too many forces were tied down there, but no one dared to move.

If moved, it could lead to a complete collapse of the front!

Who knew that when faced with Bellif’s attack, the Leifeng Star Army would respond in this way. Their blitz across six battlezones, while defeating frontline forces, also liberated the forces garrisoned along the defense line.

These troops, scattered along the defense line, were useless. But when they gathered together, crossed 49 Peak, and entered the Sunset Mountain Basin, they were a knife at Bellif’s throat!

Bellif could never have dreamt that the Fei Alliance forces he had thoroughly calculated would break through his estimations in such a manner.

This crazy plan has now reached its most critical moment. ℴℴ𝘮

The entire Staff Department was waiting.

Everyone’s heart was pounding vigorously. Until now, they couldn’t believe this crazy plan had reached the brink of miracle birth.

All it takes is........

”Capture Xiushui River Town!”

A communications strategist raised his head and said, trembling.

SkyNet’s real-time situation map still lagged by fifteen minutes. Everyone’s eyes were still glued to the arrow representing the Fei Alliance, which extended continuously northward.

Yet, everyone’s heart was beating as if it would leap out of their throats.

”Capture Seven-star Town.”

A few minutes later, the answer was unraveled fifteen minutes in advance, from the mouth of the liaison directly connected to Leifeng Star.

Strategists and officers quietly watched the communications strategist. Through the strategist’s headset hanging around his neck, they could faintly hear the cheers and excitement from the Leifeng Star frontline command.

”Madness.”

One of the strategists muttered softly.
