Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1558: Chapter 43: Gone Mad (Part 3)

Hastings waved his hand, directly allocating this budget for purchasing Twelfth Generation Mecha enough to outfit ten Armored Divisions for the bandit army!

Moreover, according to the latest official news, from the leadership to the military, and even the citizens, the Chuckna Republic has completely become loyal followers and steadfast allies of the bandit army.

Due to the previous battlefield broadcast by two famous hosts, there’s been a wave of enthusiasm in Chuckna. The military successfully validated itself, leading to the resignation of the Vice President and several national security advisors, while the bandit army played a pivotal role on Canglang Star, becoming heroes in the eyes of Chuckna’s citizens.

President Hill of Chuckna has already signed documents, and in the future, Chuckna will establish a force consisting of at least two Group Fleets and thirty elite Armored Divisions to join the bandit army under the leadership of Tian Xingjian. Furthermore, Congress has passed the budget for this troop construction, preparing substantial funds and talent.

Providing both personnel and money, with the dignity of the third-largest country in the universe, to lower their stature and allocate their most elite forces under the leadership of a militia commander, it’s simply unbelievable.

The generals from various countries who arrived at Akasa were filled with extreme emotions.

Some were resentful, some doubtful, some excited, and some hopeful. Young commanders eager to challenge this lucky guy, and seasoned great generals meticulously examining the authenticity of intelligence while preparing to reassess the strength of the bandit army.

No matter their individual intentions, one thing came to everyone’s mind.

Perhaps, the future of their Alliance forces would be under the leadership of a Mechanic Soldier!

It’s absurd yet possibly true. Hastings ignored Karsdon and Ryan Battlefield but remained in Chuckna to guide the bandit army. His granddaughter was closely associated with that Leray Lieutenant General, which speaks volumes.

However, compared to Leefer, Tian Xingjian, who leads the bandit army, still has some inherent disadvantages.

Firstly, he lacks prominent background and prestige, and before the war broke out, no one even knew him. Among the upper echelon elite of the Fei Alliance, he is just a country bumpkin. Among the dignified heritage of great generals, even with outstanding battle achievements, he’s merely a junior playing crooked tricks.

To lead the Fei Alliance Joint Army, his lack of qualifications is an insurmountable hurdle!

Secondly, Leefer has already established a vast and intricate network within the Fei Alliance. This network not only includes generals and armies from Feiyang and Ryan Republic that support him but also powerful interest groups like arms dealers.

Most importantly, public opinion and many politicians and parliamentarians are rallying behind Leefer. The victory of the Catalonia campaign skyrocketed his prestige. Everything about him is rooted in the soil of the colossal Fei Alliance, and when rising, he faces no resistance.

The bandit army, on the other hand, consists of exiles from Mars and remnants of Leray. To avoid control from Fei Alliance’s upper echelon, this troop was never integrated into the Fei Alliance system from the start, and nominally, they are only allies of this organized structure!

No one would like an army uncontrollable by oneself.

Though that Leray Lieutenant General technically belongs to the Fei Alliance leadership, and his subordinate forces are fighting for the Fei Alliance, President Hamilton of Leray’s cunning independent command authority authorization allows him to avoid all interference risks.

Due to previous issues regarding the Hanfrey Fleet’s ownership and Twelfth Generation Mecha development, the bandit army has been envied by many.

In the Alliance Council, there are many parliamentarians who want to reach out to the bandit army! These people dream of seizing the Elephant-level Fleet and Twelfth Generation Mecha from the bandit army. In their view, these should belong to the Fei Alliance and should not fall into the hands of an unruly militia.

If it weren’t for Hastings’s protection, the various powers of Fei Alliance would’ve already employed means of cunning seizure that would spiral out of control.

They cannot cunningly seize and control the bandit army, which is frustrating enough. If the bandit army were also to dominate them, that would be intolerable!

Even Hastings cannot eliminate all obstacles, forcibly promoting Tian Xingjian. Even if he temporarily succeeds, once he passes away, the Fei Alliance would immediately fracture. At that time, with Sobel as the enemy, Leefer in plain view, and various interest groups hidden, a Mechanic Soldier attempting to command the Fei Alliance would be mere fantasy.

Therefore, although Tian Xingjian has Hastings’s support, his odds are not significantly better than Leefer’s. Between these two, who will ultimately prevail is still uncertain.

The soldiers in the Akasa Fortress are full of different thoughts, chatting endlessly. Yet, they did not know that at this moment, within the core first zone of the Akasa Fortress’s Allied Staff, hundreds of staff and senior commanders are witnessing a battle concerning the future.

The atmosphere is tense and oppressive.

The large tactical conference hall is packed. Between the rows of SkyNet control terminals arranged in an arc in the hall, not a single soldier in different uniforms is seated.

Everyone stands up. Some look up at the main SkyNet screen occupying the entire wall, while others focus intensely on their small screen at their control panel. Some quickly calculate data, while others gather around the electronic sandbox, brows furrowing.
