Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 182: After modification: Volume 3, Chapter 57: Blind Date_2

Christina’s motherly instinct was completely triggered by this wretched hypocrite pretending to be pitiful. After learning about Fatty’s background, she considered herself a relative of Fatty, making sure he was included in whatever she played or ate. She even introduced some of her female friends to him, trying to create a happy and fulfilling family for him.

Fatty was overjoyed, happily being dragged around by Christina to go on blind dates all day. However, the young girls in the Gazalin Nobles Circle truly humbled the once confident Fatty. They reluctantly joined the outings just because of Christina’s face but none of them were interested in Fatty, each one as proud as a little peacock. In their eyes, a mechanic without noble status, even if he’s a genius, is as alien as an extraterrestrial and could never interact with them. They were forever people from two different classes! Especially since this person still appeared to be a silly Fatty!

Seeing Fatty’s indifferent attitude, still eager to follow her into her social circle, Christina felt guilty. She thought Fatty was just forcing a smile to cover his disappointment, but she didn’t know that this wretch was mixing in the so-called noble circle for fun and to get close to George for his tasks, completely carefree!

Out of guilt, Christina became even more determined to find Fatty a beautiful and gentle girl to soothe his extremely shameless heart. Eventually, Fatty became acquainted with nearly all of Christina’s friends. However, he had never met the Prince George who was fervently pursuing Christina. She seemed to deliberately avoid bringing Fatty when hanging out with friends.

Christina was really an incompetent matchmaker; after all, the noble circle she was involved with consisted of Gazalin’s elite. Getting these noble girls interested in a common Fatty was a task doomed to fail. Although the meetings were not direct matchmaking sessions, Christina’s inquiries about her friends’ feelings towards Fatty exposed her intentions. A muddle-headed matchmaker and a silly Fatty had become the joke of the Gazalin Nobles circle. Such things are always last known by those involved. Christina remained clueless, while Fatty continued his shameless charade, broadening the joke further.

Unable to find suitable candidates in gatherings with friends, Christina, the most muddled matchmaker in history, started taking Fatty to large-scale noble balls. Her thought was simple; her personal connections were limited within this circle. To let Fatty meet more girls, large balls were undoubtedly the best choice.

When Fatty was forced by Christina’s gentle persistence to try on formal attire, the typically shameless guy almost wanted to surrender, he looked like a penguin in it. Yet recalling these balls made it easier to meet George, Fatty decided to sacrifice his image with tearful eyes, after all, the country’s interests take precedence. Fatty hadn’t truly experienced what a noble ball was like.

Gazalin’s grand balls are generally hosted by the Royal Family; ordinary noble balls are nearly small to medium-sized. After all, the expenses of a ball are not minor. But this time, Duke Victor spent lavishly to hold this ball celebrating Third Prince Stephen’s academic success and to create momentum for him. The venue was chosen to be the renowned Red Leaf Mountain Castle, the largest and most luxurious palace in Tanville aside from the Imperial Palace. To attend this grand event, Gazalin’s top nobility practically swarmed out.

The ball was not merely a dance; the noble waltz was the concluding program of the gathering. Before everyone danced to the music in the palace, there were many other entertainments, akin to a grand carnival amusement, except these programs were traditional noble leisure activities.

Red Leaf Mountain Castle provided ample space for nobles to enjoy themselves. Areas for horseback riding, golf, swimming, tennis, fencing, etc., were all specially set and very luxurious. Behind the castle, specialized flying car tracks were made for formal flying car racing. A vast jungle served as the Mecha hunting ground at mid-mountain. Even from a global perspective, Red Leaf Mountain Castle ranks among the top ten palace-style luxurious constructions. It can accommodate several thousand attendees, whether it’s the fencing hall, golf course, or horse track, everything was top-notch.

When Fatty arrived at Red Leaf Mountain Castle in Christina’s flying car, he was thoroughly captivated, his silly glances around made it hard to believe that this Fatty was a genius mechanic!

Red Leaf Mountain was located in the coastal suburbs of Tanville, although Mezrich’s sea was merely a large lake of Earth, however, this lake was so calm and beautiful, clear as a mirror, and as crystalline as glass. Red Leaf Mountain jutted from a range of hills like a beautiful lady’s fair leg extending into the water. The castle stood atop Red Leaf Mountain, facing the sea.

For Fatty, this palace with its rich Ancient Earth’s French classical architectural style was too luxurious and enchanting. It was simply not an artifact from the space age but a relic from the Ancient Earth era!

This castle had at least a thousand years of history, with no trace of the space age apparent on the surface. Apart from some key parts using alloys, the rest was constructed entirely following Ancient Earth palace designs. Immense stone walls enclosed the site forming a square with four towering lookout towers; the front gate was ancient and commanding. Inside the walls, the ground was paved with greenstone bricks, with the main palace sitting centrally within the castle walls, its beige classical architecture prominent amidst the green grass and gray-brown walls. Tall, magnificent, and tranquil. Like the palace of gods, astonishing anyone.

Christina took Fatty’s arm, introducing Red Leaf Mountain Castle’s history while slowly entering the castle. Tennis courts inside, horse tracks outside, and golf courses were full of noble youths, while their elders stayed on the square’s lawn in front of the palace, enjoying cigars and wine, with extensive discussions. Countless attendants busily served guests.

Formal attire was only worn when the ball began; currently, everyone was dressed casually. Nobles, after all, are meticulous about manners to an extreme extent; though there were many people, Red Leaf Mountain Castle was not noisy. Everyone was so gentle and elegant, without needing the host to instruct, each person knew what they should do or shouldn’t do.

As soon as Christina entered the castle, she immediately spotted a girl playing tennis not far away. She froze for two seconds, like discovering a surprise, and led Fatty towards the tennis court. Fatty, silly, allowed Christina to pull him into the court. Entering, the girl playing tennis noticed Christina and excitedly called out, dropped her racket, and ran over. The two beautiful girls embraced, jumping and frolicking with rosy faces in excitement.

”Leilei, I missed you so much, when did you come back?” Christina asked, voicing the question Fatty trembling wanted to ask from the side.
