Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 178: Original text: Volume 3, Chapter 56, Raid Rules Modified: Volume 3, Chapter 56, Raid Rules

After communicating with several guides, Fatty, with the help of a few typists, drafted the ”Enemy Rear Assault Rules.” This was originally something learned in the lab, plus some personal experience, making it look chaotic. However, the more the three guides listened, the more they were shocked. This wasn’t just an assault manual; it was an encyclopedia of underhanded tactics, teaching how to engage in black actions such as sniping, escaping, blowing up, lurking, disguising, hiding, and various key points of assaults, team coordination, diverting the tiger from its mountain, attacking from the east while sounding from the west, undermining from the bottom, and hiding a knife behind a smile. After listening to this, the three guides finally understood what professionalism was! This guy was simply a natural talent for this work. Compared to the stuff the Freedom Front used to do, it was nothing short of amateurish!

The three guides sighed simultaneously, no wonder Fatty had that kind of expression when he heard about the Freedom Front’s resistance combat methods. Compared to him, we’re just too honest and kind-hearted.

The publication of ”Enemy Rear Assault Rules” made the three guides ecstatic despite feeling inferior. By training according to these rules, the Freedom Fighters will dramatically change their combat style, achieving the greatest results with the least losses.

After completing the manual, Fatty decided to personally guide the training of the Freedom Fighters; he wanted to see what these guys had learned from their previous lessons.

Upon hearing that Fatty was to guide the training, the Freedom Fighters threw themselves into the training with exuberant enthusiasm and high fighting spirit. However, when Fatty saw their simulation combat training, he was almost fuming.

These Freedom Fighters had no clue what it meant to quietly approach the village and shoot stealthily. Except for approaching covertly, everything else was brute force. The enemy rear attack turned into forthright positional attacks, strictly organized according to infantry rules for interspersing, covering, charging, occupying, and retreating.

Neither the firepower configuration nor the deployment of troops was carefully calculated; they only made rough allocations based on intuition. What needs to be strengthened isn’t strengthened, what should not be wasted is wasted a lot. The ideological work was fervently burning, and under the boiling blood, these guys were even more reckless. On the training ground, whether attacking or defending, everyone fought doggedly, as if they were afraid of not being shot dead by the enemy, with no technical content at all.

After watching for half an hour, Fatty hurriedly called a stop. He turned his head and asked Oberto, who was standing next to him: ”This is called enemy rear attack? Does Weasel sneak into the coop, announcing its presence and killing the guard dog first?”

Oberto awkwardly smiled and said, ”Honestly, we really didn’t know how to sneak into the coop before, but now with your manual, we can sneak not only chickens but people as well.”

Fatty rolled his eyes, blew the assembly whistle. The Freedom Fighters, who were training vigorously, immediately assembled, their actions very swift, clearly showing that in recent days, this bunch had significantly strengthened their sense of discipline after ideological education.

Seeing everyone assembled, Fatty said, ”Just now, I watched everyone’s training, and to be honest, I am very dissatisfied! Frankly, we’re just a bunch of local bandits, not regular troops. Everyone must align themselves accordingly.”

The Freedom Fighters looked at each other: ”What do you mean, local bandits?”

Fatty righteously declared, ”Yes! Local bandits! We are a group of people unseen in the light, walking in the darkness, like groundhogs! Our victories must be stolen; whoever wants to achieve victory openly, is the number one idiot of the world!”

The Freedom Fighters were dumbfounded: ”This indecent Fatty is the same person who just passionately wrote ’With my Heng Dao facing the sky, going to and leaving my gallbladders in two Kunluns’, seeming like a heroic figure bursting with audacity?”

”Steal! By any means, regardless of shame, without any regard for faces or lives, steal in succession! This is our way of fighting. No more blindly rushing into battle, that’s not an assault, that’s suicide!”

Everyone was stunned. They had seen indecency before, but not to this extent! Was this Fatty teaching people how to fight? Why did it sound more like teaching people not to have shame?

”Assault! Do you understand what assault means?” Fatty spat excessively as he instilled his ideas into the dumbfounded Freedom Fighters: ”As the name suggests, it’s a sneak attack, using sneaky tactics to attack. Damn it, without sneaking, is it still called an assault?”

”Since it’s an assault, put away your personal heroism. Be as bad as you can, be as indecent as you can! Use any means necessary, be as vile and as shameless as possible!” Fatty looked around, seeing the Freedom Fighters still looking puzzled, frustrated, he said: ”Damn, saying too much, you guys probably won’t understand, let’s do a contest then. Who wants to challenge me?”

”Challenge? You’re such a perverted character, who dares to challenge you?” This time, the Freedom Fighters unanimously chose to remain silent.

”Come on, everyone be proactive, don’t be shy, this time we won’t go all out.” Fatty said with a smile: ”Let’s start with a siege. Who will defend?”

The neat formation stayed intact, not a single person was tempted. Fatty was left with no choice but to randomly point: ”You, you, and you. The three of you, step out.”

The three selected Freedom Fighters walked into a rudimentary structure built with composite boards with grim faces. In less than three seconds, the three warriors scrambled out, Fatty holding a missile launcher in his hand. Damn, this isn’t attacking a structure; it’s blowing up a bunker! Is this even considered fair play?
