Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 97: Chapter 96:Cowabunga!!!

A/N: I see all you guys are doing with the GTs and PS, and once again, I’ll say a big ass thank you to all of you, we’re still within the top 100, fluctuations between 96 and 95 but we’re still there, let’s hope we can ride it till the month’s end...

Once again.. THANK YOU..

****************

”Alright, let’s see what you’ve got for me..”

I already had Air(), earth(), a talent I should probably be trying to evolve past its current stage, if was already this absurd, I shudder to even think what a chaos touched would do..

Yes, it’s not certain that my title would activate and evolve it, but hey, you’ll never know until you try...

So that said..

All I was currently missing to complete my ”Master of All four elements” pack were the Fire and Water aspects and right now, I was staring at the fire part...

”Don’t disappoint me..” it was but an SS-rank talent, yes, I know how that sounds, considering I’d been revering such talents just days ago, but it is what it is, the awe faded when higher skies appeared.

So although I was hyped, it wasn’t to the extent of expecting some ground breaking results...

That being said, I willed the description of the talent, and I had to say, it was beyond impressive for its rank...

*******

:-

• Description:-

A sovereign-class flame talent that establishes the user as a commanding authority over fire within a defined scope.

Flames generated or encountered by the user respond to this authority instinctively, aligning, amplifying, or submitting based on their relative strength and origin. The user does not merely manipulate fire, but imposes will upon it, shaping its behavior through dominance rather than control.

---

• Mandate Authority:-

* Flames within range recognize the user as a superior source..

* Increases the potency, intensity, and responsiveness of all controlled flames..

* Weaker flame constructs are suppressed, overridden, or assimilated upon contact..

* Equal-tier flames resist but are influenced during prolonged interaction..

---

Imperial Amplification:-

* Output of all flame-based attacks scales with the user’s intent and combat state

* Flames grow more volatile and destructive under sustained engagement...

* Enhances offensive pressure without requiring proportional energy increase..

---

• Emperor’s Resistance:-

* Grants extremely high resistance to heat and flame-based damage..

* Significantly reduces damage from external fire sources, including high-tier abilities..

* Prevents internal burn, backlash, or self-inflicted damage from the user’s own flames..

------

• Limitation:-

* Authority is less effective against higher-order or concept-based flame systems..

* Non-flame elements are unaffected by the Mandate...

* Excessive output may strain the user’s energy reserves without proper support..

”Wow...” it was a surprisingly powerful bloodline..

It didn’t have any of the unique skills I’d come to get used to seeing when dealing with elements above the S-rank, yet it hardly took anything away from it..

Considering it was more of a Control/Buff type talent, with the right skill set, one could very well become a proper menace.

And when you combined this with something as powerful as the it stopped being a linear or even geometric increase..

It became an exponential stacking..

Honestly, if I wasn’t such a bad match up for this guy, he would’ve been a true Terror and challenger within the tests.

I don’t know much about the other geniuses gathered here, neither do I know how powerful they were, but based off of synergy alone, Micheal’s power would’ve placed not far behind them, if not on slightly equal footing...

”Too bad it’s all mine now...hehehe” having a good and powerful bloodline is nice and all, but personal strength and ability is what differentiates the strong from the weak..

Personal strength, not potential..

Potential didn’t save Micheal and it sure as hell wasn’t going to save my next victim..

I’d already marked his spot when I was scouting out Micheal earlier.

Like I said, I wasn’t letting any buds sprout, so much as grow roots, I was going to nip them all effectively, right here, right now..

”Now, it’s your turn...” and with that, I vanished from my spot, blending effortlessly with the realm’s atmosphere..

************

”What..was that?”...

Back in raven’s office, Clarissa’s popcorn had fallen from her stunned figure as she watched incredulously, her emerald green eyes fluctuating violently , Dante devouring Micheal’s entire corpse, with nothing of him left..

She was not appalled by such a sight neither was she repulsed.

No. Her shock was something else entirely..

”How.. how is that possible?” Clarissa asked, her voice shaken.

She seemed to have seen something impossible..

”I told you, didn’t I?” Raven’s calm, confident and proud voice sounded from behind the stunned beauty..

Her expression nothing like the crazed madness she had earlier...

”My Dante is making a statement... he’s letting everyone know, the true dragon son has awakened”...

”But.. that ability... don’t tell me?” Clarissa paled slightly, eyes dilating..

”It is not anything related to the Devourer, Dracul” at the mention of the name, Clarissa jolted, an instinctive reaction, yet the moment she heard that there wasn’t any relation to the mentioned figure, a figuratively massive weight was lifted from her shoulders..

It only lasted for but a moment before Raven’s voice shattered that calm..

”Dante’s ability... it’s much..much worse than anything the great Devourer Dracul could hope to match.....”....

Back within the expansive hall..

The atmosphere had gone a deadly silent...

The supervisors paled when they saw dante seemingly devoure the entirety of Micheal’s corpse, nothing left behind..

Their bodies began trembling softly..

”No...it can’t be... not again..”

”That cursed bloodline...it couldn’t have been reborn..”

”Overseer...”

The terrified supervisors looked toward Valen, wanting to offer their thoughts on the situation, but..

”Silent!!” His authoritative voice silenced them...

”The Terror from that era has passed... do not.. I repeat, do not, for one moment assume the young man’s ability to be something born from that foul bloodline..” he chastised them..

”Even if it were, our duties as instructors of Aeternum is to offer knowledge, wisdom and guidance to whoever crosses our hallowed gates, so regardless of what he has, if he should make it, you will treat him no different from any other candidate.. Am I clear?” He concluded. Voice firm...

The silence stretched..

”Am. I. Clear!?” He asked once more, his aura leaking out, the atmosphere turning a suffocating crimson, the scent of blood and death filling the space, that immediately jolted the supervisors, reminding them of who exactly it was they were dealing with..

So together they answered, albeit with some apprehension...

”Yes sir!!”..

Meanwhile...

”Dante, my boy... please don’t let it be true..” the worry churning within his guts was more than enough to make even a hardened man like Valen tremble softly, not from fear, but from worry and anxiety over the fate of the white haired young man...

********

”Your majesty....” The white haired old man known as magister had risen in pure shock, dead and horror the moment he witnessed the seen happening on screen..

The emperor himself had paled slightly, recognizing the similar phenomenon to an ancient horror from ages ago, a being so fearsome his mere presence had made the demons themselves tremble, the only reason they survived being the being’s penchant for chaos and a lack of interest in crushing ”weak insects”..

Now, seeing something extremely similar to that being’s signature ability dredged up a feeling of deep fear and apprehension, even within the emperor..

”We must report this to the council immediately.. this is no longer a matter concerning our bloodline, but all of terra as a whole” came the emperor’s urgent voice...

”Right away your majesty” to confused attendant didn’t know what was happening, but he rushed to carry out his emperor’s orders regardless...

”gods help us it isn’t really true...” the emperor muttered quietly in dread...

The moment I vanished from the spot I’d just integrated all there was to assimilate about Micheal, I arrived directly above my next victim, perks of having absolute dominion over the very atmosphere you exist in..

Looking down, my eyes caught site of a blue haired young man current blazing in blue-gold flames, his mere steps liquifying the floor beneath his feet, his aura alone making sure nothing survived the surrounding one thousand meters around him..

His posture was confident, arrogant, a man truly aware of just what type of power he wielded and what it meant..

”Heh.. not for long you don’t...” I smiled eerily...

”Alright fella, time to fine out what it feels like to collide headfirst with a collapsing star” saying so, I willed my ability into pushing me downwards, my figure shattering the sound barrier with a second boom as I dropped headfirst into the flaming figure with the force of a meteor..

”COWABUNGAAAAAAAAAA BITCH!!!”

********

A/N: hmmm? Did they recognize his bloodline? It was it something else? It couldn’t be that someone really wielded chaos before Dante right?.....
