Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 75: Chapter 74:A knight and A Rider..

The moment I laid my eyes on THEM, it dawned on me just how truly, monumentally fucked I was...

I was stunned speechless..

The sight before me was truly one for the nightmares..

Any lesser man, I promise you. ANY LESSER MAN would’ve called a forfeit right then and there..

Don’t believe me?

Imagine seeing a 10ft tall metallic death metal...

The knight like creature stood at a towering 10ft, donning pitch black armor that radiated a deathly aura so dense it made the very atmosphere around it die.

A cape made of the purest death essence flowed majestically behind it, on its head, a demonic horned helmet that left nothing but its bloody red eyes that seemed to glow with an otherworldly light visible.

A massive great sword even larger than it was rested menacingly by its side..

The other was no less intimidating..

A headless rider, yes, A FLIPPING DULLAHAN..

It was a headless hulking piece of pitch black armor that radiated a deathly aura no less than the knight looking one, its head was held firmly underneath its left arm as its right held the reins of what I could only describe as a demonic warhorse.

The thing stood at a towering 8ft, its mane and hooves burning with deathly black flames, its eyes a hollow gateway to hell itself..

Both the rider and the horse seemed fused together as one couldn’t tell where the man ended and the horse began.

The rider and the horses together were even larger than the already imposing knight..

An exaggeratedly long lance planted firmly into the ground beside it..

Together they looked like the very envoys of death itself..

I had no doubt that they didn’t belong anywhere near this level of the trial..

Because the moment my eyes landed on their figures...

[Ding!!!]

My Chaotic Comprehension went absolutely crazy...

But it wasn’t until they spoke, that I realized just how dire my situation was..

”Ahh.. this must be the little one that has the tower agitated” the hulking knight looking one said.

Its voice sounding like gravel scraping on stone.

I could feel myself dying over and over and over again, working overtime to reject such an outcome...

The last time I encountered a talking monster in a dungeon setting, it was a C-rank demon masquerading as an E-rank boss..

But this was a hundred times worse..

”Hmmmm... he seems to be holding up well despite the concentration of death in the area” the head underneath the headless rider said..

”It is only to be expected, for someone to agitate her so much so that she frees us, he must not be viewed in a normal light” the hulking knight replied..

My situation only worsened..

Just the sound of their voices was killing me, I had no doubt, if I didn’t have something as absurd as forget this floor, I’d have already been killed by the lower floors...

”Damn...you really went all out huh?” I couldn’t help muttering to myself.

The tower seemed to have stopped playing.

These things didn’t feel like they were mere projections, not with the way they were behaving..

Until now, they had yet to make a single move, they merely observed, almost as if seeing something intriguing...

”A hundred years of solitary confinement, and she brings us out to what? Stop a fledgling from destroying minor constructs?”

”You know how petty she can be..”

The two seemed engrossed in their conversation.

The way they spoke about the tower of ascension almost as if it truly was a living entity...

”So, we’re just going to ignore the elephant in the room?” The headless rider asked his companion?

”Ahh, so you’ve noticed as well?” The knight replied..

”Indeed, this must be the true reason why she let us out..Grahahahaha” the headless rider laughed...

My internal organs died....

”Damn it...” the rate at which my Chaos Energy was dropping just by standing before these guys, I don’t believe I have much time left...

”Boy!!!!” The hulking knight stood up, a heavy clanking sound accompanying it...

”You seem to have annoyed someone very petty and unfortunately for you, we were called in as pest control” the knight added..

”Heh...a petty one that tower surely is” I couldn’t help adding with a nervous chuckle..

”Pft...hahahahahahahahahaha” the knight laughed, the aura of death surrounding it exploding out in ferocity...

I willed my into action and I barely survived it...

”Indeed.. she’s a petty one, so what say you come here and get exterminated all nice and slow, this old man needs to return and rest” the knight added after having a good laugh...

”Yea..how about no?” I replied.

I knew I was in way over my head..

The very fact that this..

{???????}

{???????}

Was all I could see above their heads just told me that they were far beyond what should even exist here...

”Hmmmm, you have grit.. alright then” he. Yes. He. This thing wasn’t moving like some lifeless construct, so it felt wrong calling him an it..

He placed his massive sword in the ground, then beckoned me with one hand..

”Come! Let me see what power you used to make the tower angry” he offered..

I didn’t need to be told twice..

Now, one would wonder why I’d be so stupid as to not go all out from the very beginning, given how weird everything had been up until now..

Well, I’d been one punching everything so far that I honestly thought I could do the same, after all, I just needed to land one punch then this overconfident tin can would be yesterday’s news...

Right?

I balled my fist, I tried to will the atmosphere’s weight, nothing happened..

”It’s futile boy, death has already claimed dominion of the surrounding area, your attempts at control are futile” the knight’s voice cut me off..

Use that’s the smart choice..

But since when did smart and overconfidence ever coexist?

I scrubbed the idea away...

Instead, I activated my skill pushed my to its limit, channeled every ounce of power buffing ability I had in my arsenal...

Normally, this would be when the surroundings start vibrating and shaking from the power output...

Nothing...

Absolutely no reaction...

I paid it no mind..

I just needed to land one punch, this overconfident tin can was surely going to regret it..

Right??

I launched myself like a missile, appearing before the knight, his reaction seemed to be lagging behind..

I smiled, ’heh..got you’

I cocked back my fist, and then Boooom.....

Released the punch....

I. Just. Needed. To. Land. One. Punch. Right??

Oh.. wrong!!!

SO..FUCKING..WRONG...

With a dull thud, he caught my fist. There was no explosion, no shockwave, it was like the entire momentum behind my attack just died....

”Interesting..You have power, boy. Raw, unrefined destructiveness. But you lack the finesse to wield it. ”

The knight’s gravelly voice took on a lecturing note...

It raised a gauntleted fist, ”this is how you throw a punch!”

Crack!!!

The blow struck before I could even process the words and you know what’s worse? I could still see the raised fist in my blurry vision.

It was almost as if the punch landed without ever being thrown..

My entire rib cage collapsed, followed by my internal system, I literally died from that one punch, not once, but over and over again..

The sharp drop of over 20,000CE, told me all I needed to know about how deadly that punch had been...

I skidded to a halt over 10 meters away, breathing heavy, cold sweat dampening my face..

The arrogance and confidence I brought here firmly being wiped away..

”Good, now you look more like a true warrior.” The knight spoke up, his voice somewhat approving?

”Now, boy, before we continue. Tell me”.

I paused, looking at the knight with a puzzled expression, ”tell you what?” I asked..

”You look like him, albeit a lot more handsome, you smell like him, you talk like him, hell, you’re even as cocky, no maybe even more cocky than that little fella” the knight droned on.

At some point the dullahan had arrived by the knight’s side, both of them looking at me with scrutiny..

”Tell us boy, what is your relationship to the Golden Vanquisher?”

”The who?”

”Hmmm, does he not know? Or is he playing dumb?” The knight asked his friend..

”He might not recognize the title” the headless rider replied..

”Ahh, I see” the knight turned toward me once me..

”Tell me boy...”

I listened attentively, my instincts telling me something important was about to happen..

”What is your relationship to that little fella, I think he said his name was... ah yes”..

”Regulus... Regulus Von Draken, who is he to you?”

The question struck me like a freight train, my mind stalling for a few seconds....

”You...you knew my father?”....

***********

A/N: Regulus knew monsters from the tower? Just what In fuckery is going on I wonder...
