Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 56: Chapter 55:Dante vs Micheal (1)

[Talent Evaluation complete]

[Talents: ....

What the actual fuck was I seeing right now??

A feeling of unease suddenly began welling up within me..

”System. Explain. Now!!”

[Ding]

The system’s chime this time sounded off, I couldn’t place my hand on it but it sounded amused?

How a ding would sound amuse is beyond me but that’s what I felt..

[answering host. Your talents evolved through the system are undetectable by normal means.]

”Bullshit!! What do you mean ’undetectable by normal means?”

[talents touched and affected by chaos cannot be detected by anyone or anything unless the host wishes it so]

”Oh yea? Then why the hell are and being displayed? Didn’t I acquire those by utilizing chaos too? You sham system!!”

[Ding]

[Affirmative... correction in progress]

”Hold on.. what the fuck do you mean correction in progress?..”

Before I could process the thought further, something else caught my attention...

The display before me started changing...

The talents , and all vanished..

Leaving behind my original talent ....

.....

.....

Another profound silence filled the entire square..

I could literally feel the disbelief in the air..

[Correction completed]

”You fucking dickhead... change this right now...”

[Talents touched by chaos are undetectable by any means]

”Undetectable my caked ass, you fucking sham.. you’re trolling me aren’t you?? Fix this right now!!”

[Energy Capacity below optimal state..

System cool down initiated in...3....2...1...]

”Ooiii...oooi.... You sham system.. you con artist.. you’re enjoying this aren’t you?????”

As I raged internally at my system screwing me over for the fun of it...

”Disqualified!” The lady’s cold dismissive voice reached my ears..

”What??” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing..

”Fuck you mean disqualified?” I didn’t have the frame of mind to be polite at this point in time..

First my sham system pulled a fast one on me, now this cold faced ugly bitch wants to disqualify me? I’ll be damned...

”You’re disqualified.. an E-rank trash like you dares to speak to me like that?” Her aura pressed down on me, intending to subjugate me..

Nothing!

Atmospheric Erasure made sure that attempt had no purchase...

I could see the shock on her face. Must’ve felt like punching clouds when her pressure entered my space..

”You little insect!” He features twisted..

She’d probably never been disrespected like this before..

”Enough!” Yet before she could make another move, the man in the middle, who’d been quiet so far, shut her down..

”The young man can continue” he finally gave his verdict..

”Lord valen..”

”I said enough... let’s get to the last part”...

She could only relent with a bitter expression on her face...

My suspicious gaze found the man who’d just spoken up for me, and unsurprisingly, he was also looking back at me..

He smiled and nodded towards me.

I could only raise an eyebrow at the gesture..

”I wonder if he knows me from somewhere?”

I wasn’t about to waste brain cells on the matter..

It was time for the next phase of this curling...

”Now, there are exactly 149 participants left, and this city could only afford 100 quotas.” That single statement sent the fireworks off...

Everyone became alert..

Not me though, I was just waiting to get this over with so we can get to the next thing on the agenda..

”We’ll be needing to eliminate another 49 more people before we can proceed further” she paused, letting the words sink in..

”And the most effective way to that... is none other than a battle royale!!”..

At the sound of her voice, the ground trembled, gravel peeling back as an arena like structure rose from the floor beneath our feet...

A translucent barrier surrounded the arena in a circular format...

”The rules of the battle are simple, use whatever means possible to get rid of your opponents..

The arena has been fitted with a formation that teleports you immediately at the sign of death, so you need not hold back”

The rules were easy enough to understand, eliminate your opponent as fast as possible.

Make sure you’re among the last 100 still standing..

”Easy enough”...

”Begin!!” At the sound of her voice, the battle began..

It was no surprise when more than 10 people surged towards me first.

Their intent was clear, get rid of the trash before focusing on worthy opponents.

Yet before I could bother to make a move..

Fwoooooooshhhhhh

”Aaaarrrrghhhhhhhhh....

”It hurts....

”It burns!!!!....

Shrieking wails erupted from the charging figures as their bodies burst into roaring flames...

Slowly their cries died down yet just before they could succumb to the after life, a golden glow covered their charred bodies as they were swiftly teleported outside the arena..

The healers on standby rushing towards the disfigured bodies and beginning to perform their designated tasks...

Back in the arena, as the haze of the flames died down, I could see Micheal standing right at the former location of the previous participants..

”Well, well, well... we meet again Dante”..

”Yawn.... You didn’t have to do that you know? I had it all covered” I yawned. Uninterested in whatever third rate villain monologue he had planned...

”Hehehe.. don’t worry, no one’s allowed to touch you. I’m going to make sure I take my time with you, after all, Cara isn’t here to save you anymore .. hahahahahaha” he cackled maniacally..

But all I heard was Cara isn’t here anymore..

”She left?” I couldn’t help asking..

”Oho, what’s this? Missing the woman who used you and dumped you for nothing?” His gloating voice irritated me to no end..

”Just answer the goddamn question” I was getting annoyed..

”Hehe.. yes she left. As for where? That’s none of your business now is it?” His smug expression was practically asking to be punched.

”I can see you’re angry. Good. You’ll need all the motivation you can get for when I’m ready Teach you a lesson, as for now, just sit there and watch.” He left, cackling as his entire body went up in flames, the temperature shooting to unbelievable degrees..

The other participants had to call of their squabbles and team up to face the monster coming for them..

I just stayed back and watched. Mind already spinning in dizzying circles about how I was going to make this fucker pay..
