Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chen Ziliang’s rule patterns are drawn more smoothly, incorporating many changes that even Su Huan cannot understand. The only regret is that he is the only one who can draw this.

Others weren’t idle either, quickly developing a new material for energy isolation based on the topics brought up by the train conductor.

When applied to the inner walls of the compartments, it can effectively block various forms of energy. According to Su Huan’s observations, although it cannot completely isolate all kinds of energy, preventing the Pale Demon is already sufficient; he does not wish for the train to require regular exorcisms while running.

Then came the Pan-energy Barrier Device, which achieves the goal of energy defense by activating Pan Energy.

Long ago, Vice President Deng had this idea, but due to the train’s massive size, the consumption of Pan-energy Crystals was terrifying, and Hu Shuo rejected it. Now that Su Huan has broken through to Tier Four, that amount of energy is inconsequential.

As long as Su Huan is within ten kilometers of the train, he can recharge it anytime, anywhere.

The electromagnetic laboratory managed by Ban Yunzhang finally yielded results after so long, already able to mass-produce electromagnetic railguns, weapons that rely more on energy than ammunition, were favored by the train so much resource was allocated without even reaching Su Huan’s approval process.

At the same time, Professor Ma’s communication system, Luo Jingyi’s artificial intelligence, and Vice President Deng’s weapons have all been iterated upon, with various small outputs and achievements now in use aboard the train.

Thanks to the terrifying buoyancy provided by the Gravity rule, the train’s load capacity has increased, and Professor Wang Duoyu is repurposing the compartments.

Huang Sea and Li Han are researching how to raise fish in the cultivation pod.

Everything is thriving, waiting for the moment of completion.

At sunrise, the crystalline dewdrops on the autumn-kissed wild grass hadn’t dissipated yet, when they were pulled to the ground by a strong vibration, moistening the land.

Lord Lian, disheveled, lay on a large rock, her proportioned feet swaying before Su Huan, lazily asking, ”When are you planning to leave?”

”Around mid-April.”

Su Huan grabbed her foot, giving it a squeeze, then with a pull, he drew the woman, smooth as a live fish, into his embrace.

Lord Lian’s lithe and voluptuous figure brings a feeling of longevity and happiness just by holding her.

Though their cooperation is average, her straightforward personality lacks shame, giving Su Huan the refreshing sensation of gulping meat and quaffing wine.

Moreover, after indulging, he doesn’t need to soothe emotions and can chat about important matters as if with a good brother.

If there’s a disagreement, the two can have a fierce fight to determine the winner.

”Slap!”

”Just talk, don’t get handsy.”

Lord Lian slapped Su Huan’s hand away, found a comfortable position, and squinted at the train rising into the sky.

The train was adjusted to four rows side by side, so the length halved to just over seven hundred meters. Including the attached cultivation pod, it’s less than a kilometer, currently hovering steadily about ten meters above the ground, undergoing minute adjustments.

The climate in the Gravity Zone is closer to Northern autumn, specifically the clear, nearly metallic white light of early October, which pours through the transparent air unobstructed, casting the train and working crowds in a silvery glow.

The armed train is like a giant kite.

Science fiction tinged with an air of inevitability.

The ironwood cladding in the train’s center is retained, but only the center row is kept, with the trains on both sides directly joined to increase stability.

With the command from the front, the train’s new power system starts, slowly advancing forward.

With the momentum of a mountain-moving force overpowering the crowd on the ground, amid cheering, it sweeps towards the distant lake, its enormous shadow forming a black dragon on the ground.

”This thing is much stronger than Floating Land; with this vehicle, many more people can be supported,”

Lord Lian remarked.

”What’s the point of supporting so many people?”

Su Huan countered.

”A force of several thousand people can’t fully utilize the train’s current achievements. If you don’t want to leave them completely behind, expanding the scale is necessary. Even if you just need them to process materials and run errands, a scale of at least ten thousand is needed.”

Lord Lian explained earnestly.

The train circled back from the lake, indicating the test flight went well.

”Tell me about the Plant Zone; how much do you know?”

Lord Lian found a comfortable position, lying on her back. ”The Plant Zone is more troublesome than the Spore Zone. The Spore Zone only has periodic eruptions, with a few experts able to leap over giant umbrella mushrooms during non-eruption periods, but the Plant Zone’s evolved plants forage twenty-four hours a day.”

”I previously managed to establish a few forward bases in the Plant Zone and fought a few fruitless battles with those plants but eventually retreated, leaving just a perimeter base for material collection.”

Su Huan frowned, ”If it’s a twenty-four-hour frenzy, how do you establish a safe zone?”

After advancing to Tier Four, the last thing he fears is strong enemies, but natural disasters like these environmental conditions leave him with few solutions.

Before crossing the border, he could confidently snap his fingers for a round of environmental remodeling, but knowing the role of the twelve districts made it more troublesome.

If he were to completely destroy the Plant Zone and let the Pale Demon and all sorts of chaotic things outside come inside, that would be a big problem.

Longxi High-speed Rail and the Business Alliance wouldn’t approve such a ”safe corridor.”

Transactions must adhere to principles.

”...Actually, the Celestial Disaster Zone isn’t entirely uninhabitable.” Lord Lian pulled the large sable over the two, ”There are people living inside the Plant Zone.”

Regarding the first half of the sentence, Su Huan agreed.

Iron Old Man in the Flood Zone is living well now, and occasionally when the signal is good, they can receive Xiaodong’s reports.

”People?”

”There’s a plant in the Plant Zone called the Traveler’s Tree, whose bark resembles a human face and can communicate with humans through special methods. With it present, other plants won’t invade its territory. But we’ve been busy purging the inner Gravity Zone, so there’s been little research on the Traveler’s Tree. I’ll have someone send you seeds and information later.”

”And some information on other evolved plants as well.”

Su Huan said casually, then saw Lord Lian’s fair and slender claw stretched out in front of him.

”What does this mean?”

The latter replied confidently, ”Money! Or do you expect to get this for free?”

Recalling the days when Lord Lian extorted him, Su Huan’s face twitched, turning away, ”I’ll have Hu Shuo contact Lian Jin later.”

”No way, Lian Jin would just give it to you directly. He wouldn’t care about how much I endure outside, selling my body and risking my life.”

Su Huan’s head filled with black lines. He slapped her, ”When have I asked you to risk your life?”

Lord Lian’s eyebrows shot up, ”Su, I have a home but don’t go back, running around with you all day, for what? Do you think it’s purely because I enjoy it?”

As soon as she opened her mouth, Su Huan regretted starting this topic.

Halfway through, Lord Lian changed her tone, ”Of course, if you give me the armed train and these thousands of people as compensation, don’t even mention running around serving you day and night, I’d even take care of your little ones...”

Seeing Lord Lian staring directly at the train, Su Huan admitted defeat instantly.

Taking it all and running away naked, that’s something he can’t do.

Seeing him retreating from difficulty, Lord Lian touched Su Huan’s handsome face, ”Sister has things to do, won’t laze around with you anymore. If you get restless tonight, you can come and find sister to play, free of charge.”

She donned her clothes, returning to her Valkyrie demeanor, springing off with one foot, cracking the ground instantly, and dashed away amid swirling dust.

Su Huan narrowed his eyes slightly.

Lord Lian and Yu Yue’s personalities are completely different; she definitely won’t follow him. Donghuang Heavy Industry cannot do without her just like the armed train cannot do without its conductor.

He’s not inclined to start trouble either; this woman has a way with words.

Su Huan rose and headed towards the train, and a few steps later saw Hu Shuo approaching, holding a thick stack of drawings.

Clearly, these guys have been keeping tabs on his whereabouts.
