Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Knock, knock,”

Yu Yue made some noise and then silently entered, carrying a tray of food.

Su Huan didn’t intend to speak. She conscientiously tidied up the things on the table and then went behind him to manage his hair.

Actually, his hair didn’t need much tending; it was as resilient as steel wire, without a hint of dandruff or dirt. Ordinary scissors couldn’t cut it, so Yu Yue patiently used her hands as a comb, threading through his hair, slowly smoothing it out.

”Shu Wei seems troubled.”

Yu Yue suddenly said.

”She wants to get off the train.”

Yu Yue’s hand paused, showing concern. ”Why?”

”I don’t know.”

’Why don’t you ask her?’ Yu Yue thought helplessly. But if she could actually say that, it wouldn’t be Su Huan.

He was like a stubborn child, following a strange set of rules. Even if he really wanted to, he would pretend not to care.

In truth, he cared deeply inside.

He was just accustomed to helping the people he cared about in his own way.

Thinking of this, Shu Wei’s gaze softened significantly, and even her hand movements became gentler.

Cradling his face, she whispered, ”Even if you want to help others, you can’t do it at your own expense...”

In the darkness, Su Huan was momentarily stunned.

”Maybe you’re right.” Su Huan stood up.

His foot, which had just stepped out, was retracted. Then, he puzzledly grabbed his own hair. Amidst his long hair, as wild as a wolf’s tail, was a small braid with a peculiar crystal tied to it. It resembled the Pan-energy Crystal, but its energy nature was distinctly different.

”This is a Pan-energy Crystal that has been sealed with sound, capable of unleashing Tier Two group damage. I just recently learned this.”

”Very impressive.”

Su Huan tossed his hair back. Since she liked it, he might as well keep it there.

It would be of no use otherwise.

He took a step out, and he was already gone beyond the door.

Inside the room, the woman clutched a lock of hair, smiling brightly and gently.

”From now on, your confusion belongs to me.”

...

Inside a certain train compartment.

Shu Wei had showered and was sitting on the bed. As the train conductor’s secretary, she had long since had her own room.

Yet it was still quite cramped, without much furniture. The only places to sit in the room were a single chair and a sofa.

Nearly a year’s living had left plenty of traces in the compartment. Her scattered personal items would fill several boxes, so she decided not to pack them, just taking a simple bag, as if going on a temporary trip.

Will this room still be here when I come back?

Shu Wei glanced nostalgically at these ordinary items. Even though this was the smallest room she had ever lived in over her thirty years of life, during the toughest times, every item was something she had accumulated through her efforts, including this room.

That made her particularly attached.

Thinking of the message from Black Kite, Shu Wei sighed deeply, the nostalgia in her eyes turning into determination.

She had already made up her mind. After handling those matters over there, she’d return, hopefully in time to catch the train. Then she’d give that jerk Su Huan a surprise.

What sort of expression would he have when he sees her again?

Turning off the bedside lamp, Shu Wei’s lips slightly curved up.

Suddenly, she felt a chilling sensation rush over her, her eyes snapping open as goosebumps rose all over her body, a pair of long, narrow eyes gazing at her with a playful smirk, twinkling faintly in the pitch-dark night.

A man’s three fingertips were placed on her neck, with a cold touch, while the other hand held an index finger to his lips.

”You seem surprised?”

”This is... my room.”

For once, Shu Wei was a bit flustered. Even the most professional secretary would blank out being cornered on a bed.

”This is my train.”

The cold sensation traveled down.

Shu Wei’s brow twitched, feeling a sense of foreboding, unable to resist asking, ”Is there something you need?”

”No.”

Su Huan’s tone was indifferent, just as when the two of them addressed work, calm and routine.

But this calmness made Shu Wei feel that she was losing her composure, reverting to the earlier days of their relationship.

She needed to counter appropriately.

”If you need anything, you can go to your place. My room’s too small.”

”Small has its advantages.”

Su Huan was unyielding.

Shu Wei shivered from the cold.

”Before I lose my power, you’re my most loyal servant. I haven’t forgotten this vow, have I?”

”Yes, but...”

”Hands off.”

...

”Bang!”

Shu Wei was grabbed by the throat by a large hand, slammed against the wall behind her, letting out a painful groan.

Seeing the disheveled woman, Su Huan felt triumphant.

Just as the little chef said, why make things difficult for oneself?

From his vantage point above, he said, ”Beg me.”

Shu Wei finally stopped maintaining her usual calm façade, pursing her lips stubbornly, ”No.”

Su Huan’s eyes grew more dangerous.

”Bang, bang, bang...”

He slammed the woman against the wall repeatedly.

The pain made her even weaker.

”Beg me.”

”No!”

”Bang, bang, bang...”

”Beg me.”

”...No!”

They were locked in a battle of wills, neither willing to yield.

In the end, Shu Wei fainted from being slammed.

Su Huan raised an eyebrow. Fainted? That’s easy to handle, a flicker of electricity in his hand.

She woke again.

Continue.

Fainted.

Shock again!

Fainted again, give her some potion.

The woman’s face was deathly pale. Due to dehydration, the corners of her mouth were slightly chapped, but her appearance was even more delicate and added an endearing melancholy.

”...Baby’s going to die.”

”Hmm?”

Su Huan, in the midst of his excitement, was surprised. ”What did you just say?”

”Nothing.”

”Still not honest? Ha...”

”No, I was wrong. I won’t dare again next time.”
