Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Gravity Zone, Sky Mirror.

Top floor of Deep Blue Data’s Alpha Tower.

Fu Lanshan looked at the briefing brought back by the support team, his eyes glazed over.

”...Killed two Tier Three Evolution Beasts, dragged for hundreds of kilometers in a matter of minutes, the range of ability effects exceeding ten kilometers, suspected to have formed a domain.”

”As of now, the Four Nations including Chongying have all been destroyed. The Armed Train and Donghuang Heavy Industry have jointly massacred the remaining personnel of the Four Nations. According to rough estimates, the number of people killed by the Train Master exceeds one million.”

”In addition to a large amount of materials, the train has acquired four Tier Three Evolution Beasts and actual control of the Four Countries Peninsula.”

”Armed Corps major, Qu Hang, suspected to have broken through Tier Two ’Controller’, with airflow as the medium, possessing short-distance gliding ability, some abilities updated...”

”Armed Corps captain, Liang Kuan, suspected to have broken through Tier Two ’Defender’, with extremely strong power attributes, no other special abilities discovered...”

”The last location where Haywood appeared was the frontline command post of the Four Nations. He received a decapitation raid from the Armed Train and disappeared amidst the chaos. The energy at the scene was chaotic, and experts could not analyze his exact whereabouts. There is a certain probability that Haywood has been captured.”

Each piece of information made Fu Lanshan’s heart race, and when combined, made his scalp tingle.

He sat down in a disheveled state on the table, looking at the water outside the window reflecting sunlight like a mirror, unable to speak for a long time.

After a while, he murmured softly.

”One person annihilates Four Nations... A new era has finally arrived.”

A secret only known to major forces, Tier Four is the true divide between humans and gods.

Before Tier Three, it was entirely possible to pile up with a large amount of resources. As long as the Life Force was sufficient, it could be achieved with probability. Only Tier Four, so far there has been no accurate standard of promotion researched; all directions of evolution beyond Tier Four are theoretical conjectures without any verification.

It is a leap from quantitative to qualitative change.

Once an Evolver enters Tier Four, they are no longer constrained by collective power.

One person destroying a nation is no longer a fantasy but a concrete phenomenon.

And Su Huan is the one who opened the prelude to this insane era.

”President Fu, just now Black Kite...”

”All external projects are to be suspended immediately. Apart from a small number of liaison personnel, all branches are to retract and go into hiding.” Fu Lanshan interrupted his deputy’s inquiry decisively.

If Su Huan were still Tier Three, he would be somewhat troubled but could accept it. Keeping a low profile for a while, and it would eventually pass, especially considering that from the Armed Train’s route of travel, they were headed north and couldn’t stay long in the Gravity Zone.

But now that Su Huan is Tier Four, even if it’s suspected, he wouldn’t gamble on whether a madman would travel thousands of kilometers to take him down just out of spite.

The deputy’s expression vibrated, cautiously inquiring, ”Including the Deep Blue Towers?”

”Everything! By the way, what did you just say about Black Kite?”

Fu Lanshan stood up, put on his coat, and asked casually.

”The infighting within Black Kite is intensifying. Several directors have expressed a willingness to seek our assistance, and there’s a split opinion among the lower management on this...”

”Who is in the worst situation right now?”

”It’s Mr. Shu. Director No. 4 appears neutral on the surface, but he can barely manage No. 1.”

A gleam of thought flashed across Fu Lanshan’s eyes, ”You can provide some support to Shu Xin, but the terms he offers must be appropriate, and ensure that the chaos within Black Kite continues.”

”Understood.” The deputy nodded, ”Where are you headed next, then?”

”How’s the progress on relocating my laboratory?”

”Eighty percent has been relocated to the small Acid Rain Zone branch, and trials for the Tier Three Genetic Potion can already begin.”

”Accelerate the progress, allocate resources appropriately.”

”When do you intend to leave?”

”Now.”

...

The invisible deflection field cloaking the floating island and twin towers vanished like a melting ice shell.

At the base of the tower, in the transparent corridor connecting the island, personnel in uniform poured out from the airtight doors of the underwater facilities, carrying standard-sized silver sealed boxes or shouldering precision equipment modules, following the pre-set marker paths, flowing to the twelve launch platforms on the edge of the island.

The hatch doors on the platforms had long since slid open, engines maintained a low pre-start hum, and the procession automatically split, boarding at the hatch doors like a precise filling production line. On site, there was only the dense crisp sound of boot soles impacting composite materials and the ”click” of equipment latches locking in place.

The shadow of a heavy transport aircraft began to appear in the sky.

The Deep Blue Towers underwent violent changes.

Step one, structural disintegration. The composite armor plates on the outer walls of the two towers began to fall off in pieces, revealing the lightweight honeycomb core inside. The falling armor plates did not drop but were captured by tractor beams emitted from the tower base, folded and compressed in mid-air, turning into modules the size of standard containers.

Step two, environmental camouflage restoration. Underneath the lake, dozens of environmental simulators rose, starting to spray water vapor and dust matching the surrounding mountain’s composition into the sky. Several other devices quickly ”printed” camouflage vegetation and rock textures on the exposed lakebed. The water in the area where the island was originally located began to churn violently and become turbid, simulating natural geological activity.

Step three, information clearance. The electromagnetic signals remaining at the original site of the towers were covered with high-powered interference, all physical connections were severed, and the underground data core started the molecular-level destruction program after completing its final encrypted transmission.

Three hours after the evacuation order was given.

The last shuttle closed its doors, ascended, joined the airborne fleet on the horizon, and was swiftly engulfed by the simulated natural clouds and mist.
