Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Carriage No. 16 still didn’t have a single camera; the sickbed by the window had almost become He Jie’s dedicated spot, where he spent more time lying each month than at home.

Wrapped up like a mummy, He Jie lay on the bed, casting a sidelong glance at the two young people sitting beside him.

Qu Hang was peeling a black-skinned fruit, and with a few swift maneuvers, the pale yellow flesh was out. He then sliced it with a small knife, skewered a piece, and brought it to his mouth.

Damn it, the roles have reversed.

He Zhenzhen chirped on the side, ”Dad, this is called a black apple. Its taste is like buttery mashed potatoes, melts in your mouth, and helps with bone growth. Director Xu says it’s perfect for someone with comminuted fractures like you.”

Han Qin chimed in, ”Yeah, why don’t you eat it when Little Hang is feeding you?”

Although Qu Hang’s face was expressionless, He Jie felt inside he must be thrilled. With his wife and daughter coaxing him, he could only open his mouth and bite. He didn’t taste the sweetness, only felt the disgust like having swallowed a fly.

The door opened, and the burly figure of Liang Kuan squeezed in.

Seeing his old partner, the little discontent in He Jie’s heart vanished instantly, but he still shot him a fierce glance, ”I don’t object to you two being together, but Zhenzhen is only eighteen this year. At least wait until she’s twenty, understand what I mean?”

He Zhenzhen was very embarrassed and slapped He Jie’s arm.

”...So many people here!”

He Jie impatiently said, ”Alright, alright, you two stop being an eyesore and make room for your Uncle Liang and Sister Shu.”

After the pleasantries, only He Jie and Liang Kuan remained in the room.

The atmosphere turned quiet but not awkward.

”Finally, they’re gone.” He Jie exhaled deeply, nodding towards the cigarettes Liang Kuan brought, ”Quick, fix me one.”

Liang Kuan lit a cigarette for him and stuffed one into his mouth as well.

He Jie was a bit surprised.

The dim sunset light cast their shadows on the opposite wall, occasionally distorted by the smoke.

The two men silently smoked.

”I’m sorry.”

Liang Kuan’s mouth trembled a bit as he spoke sullenly.

If it weren’t for his daughter’s affair, the train wouldn’t have been fought so fiercely.

He Jie suddenly coughed, with a little blood foam at his lips, originally lying sideways to smoke, now straining his eyes upwards to see the guilt in Liang Kuan’s eyes.

He said nothing, strenuously shifting his body, taking off his plastered hand, first lightly touching his own chest, then striking it straight against Liang Kuan’s chest, making a dull thud.

This was a simplified sign language, yet its meaning was clear.

”It’s up to you, I trust you.”

Liang Kuan was momentarily stunned, his face breaking into a relieved smile, ”The rest is up to me.”

”Bang!”

The door on the other side opened, and a man no less burly than Liang Kuan entered, wrapped no less than He Jie, yet still wearing a flashy white suit with a bandaged chest exposed.

The gaze of the two muscular giants collided, Tier Two auras flaring simultaneously, akin to two Ancient Ferocious Beasts roaring at each other, hearts pounding like drums, blood surging, each wanting to best the other.

The strong heartbeat echoed simultaneously in the carriage, and the smoke in the air was suddenly pressed into a straight line!

He Jie, lying in the middle, had his hair stand on end, swearing in anger, ”Bullshit! You two planned to mess with me, didn’t you?”

Lian Jin laughed heartily, restraining his natural aura, ”I wanted to handle you the last time I went to Zhijin, but I was only Tier One then. It’s no problem now, fancy sparring some time?”

”Sure.”

Liang Kuan readily agreed.

He Jie looked at Lian Jin, ”Speaking of which, as the young master of Donghuang Heavy Industry, why’re you always running to the train?”

Lian Jin found a bunk to lie on, speaking confidently, ”Our medical facilities aren’t as good as yours on the train; after all, you have VIP wards! Also, I’m an ally; what’s wrong with taking advantage of your medical logistics?”

Though they didn’t converse much, they formed a deep friendship through numerous life-and-death battles.

He Jie curled his lips, ”Why don’t you bring Donghuang Heavy Industry to join our Armed Train?”

Lian Jin suddenly sat up, his eyes shining, ”It’s not impossible. I think my sister and Su Huan might have a thing going on.”

Upon hearing this, He Jie’s eyes also lit up, almost sitting up, ”Damn, is this news reliable?”

Lian Jin pointed at his own eyes, ”Saw it with my own eyes! But if we merge, there’s a problem: who listens to whom?”

”Of course, Donghuang Heavy Industry listens to us, right?”

”Hey, with my sister’s personality, she can hold on temporarily, but actually listening to others? Keep dreaming. Better think about how to deal with the upcoming Four Nations war.”

He Jie squinted his eyes, ”National warfare?”

Lian Jin sneered, ”How can we let those bastards take advantage and run away? It’s hard enough to mobilize our Donghuang Heavy Industry’s Heavy Armor Brigade here, can’t waste the trip.”

He Jie nodded, ”Your Heavy Armor Brigade is nice, good for supporting our train.”

”Bullshit, how many of you are left on the train? Still thinking of being the main force?”

”The rest are average Tier One! Is that enough?!”

...

Everyone underestimated Su Huan’s ruthlessness and Lord Lian’s dominance.

On January 25, 2037, the Armed Train and Donghuang Heavy Industry united to launch a war of annihilation against nations. After preparing, they split into two groups to launch attacks on Korea and the White Elephant.

The next day, a great battle ensued with Tan Junyue and the remnants of the Alliance Army, over thirty thousand were killed on the spot, countless missing.

On the 27th, troops were at the city gates.

That day, Korea was destroyed.

On the 28th, the White Elephant was destroyed.
