Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The lake, once home to technological wonders, now only has turbulent murky waves, and fast-”growing” natural floating islands and vegetation indistinguishable from their surroundings.

The wind whistled through the newly created ”valleys,” erasing all traces of human activity, along with the island and the twin towers themselves, as if they had never existed.

The lake water continued to churn, smoothing out the last vestiges of ripples.

It wasn’t until a week later that three visitors arrived at this place full of natural air.

An intangible energy wave swept over, followed by a tall figure silently appearing at the edge of the energy wave, holding a mummy wrapped in a fungus carpet, squinting at the water surface in front.

Behind him was a thunderous roar, and a well-defined figure landed beside him, directly creating a five-meter-diameter pit on the ground, with sweat already soaking the exposed skin.

Lord Lian didn’t care about appearances, put his hands on his hips, and let out a heavy breath, ”Why is your speed so fast that it hasn’t caused any impact? This doesn’t make sense scientifically.”

Su Huan slammed the mummy in his hand into the ground, planting it halfway.

Turning to look at the dusty woman, he solemnly said, ”There’s good news and bad news, which do you want to hear?”

”I feel like you don’t have anything good to say...” Lord Lian looked at Su Huan’s serious face, swallowing his words in disbelief, and opted for a more peaceful approach, ”Just say it!”

”This was indeed their base, but we’ve come too late; they’ve already fled.”

”So what?”

Su Huan casually helped her to brush aside strands of hair stuck to her forehead by sweat, smiling warmly, ”You’ll have to run back.”

Then he saw a well-shaped pattern wrinkle on the smooth forehead.

The air pressure suddenly became very low.

Not a physical feeling.

But a beautiful fist created a sonic boom, sucking all the surrounding air empty.

Su Huan had already ”slid” behind the woman with the energy.

The lake surface in front of them was sliced open from the middle by the pressure of the punch, with waves rolling up several meters high, making a thunderous noise.

The beautiful sky mirror was shattered by this punch.

”It’s truly magnificent.”

Su Huan wrapped his palm around that slim and strong waist, soothingly patting.

This woman was like a firecracker, exploding with just a little provocation, but it was a coincidence that he liked such provocation.

Lord Lian elbowed back, this time Su Huan didn’t dodge, taking a solid hit.

With a muffled sound of ”bang!”

Lord Lian was startled, retracting seventy percent of his strength but still coldly threatening, ”I can’t defeat you now, but if you piss me off, I’ll elope with your women, and you’ll never see them again in this lifetime.”

Su Huan said lightly, ”Then it’s settled.”

”Settled what?”

Lord Lian scratched her head irritably, regretting a bit now, having only been attracted by his body at the time, she hadn’t realized the man was sick.

Su Huan shook his head, and beside him, the fungus carpet unfolded, revealing Haywood’s pale face.

”How about, familiar with this place?”

Seeing the smile on Su Huan’s face, Haywood shivered, looking confusedly around, lamenting, ”I’ve never been to the headquarters, I just know it’s in this general area...”

Su Huan chuckled, ”I meant do you like this place.”

Haywood was a bit dazed, nodding blankly, ”It’s... quite nice.”

”It’s good if you like it.”

Su Huan smiled and snapped his fingers.

It was then that Haywood, late in realizing, wanted to say something, but suddenly found himself moving farther from Su Huan and the others, pulled from the shore directly to the center of the lake by an unknown force.

”Boom——”

The explosion covered the entire lake, creating a momentary spectacle, stunningly beautiful.

The two figures standing on the shore were small but sturdy, like two black shadows.

Su Huan calmly watched as this old friend and Deep Blue’s original base vanished together, murmur in his heart, ”This endless journey...”

Lord Lian couldn’t help saying, ”You could have given him to me, I could help you gain more benefits from Deep Blue Data.”

Su Huan shook his head, embraced the woman from the waist, and with a light toe, was sent out by the energy. The energy automatically pushed all obstacles away from the King, creating a terrifying phenomenon of leaping a hundred meters in an instant.

The speed already surpassed some trains.

Lord Lian hesitated, looking at the man’s side profile before nestling her head into his chest, listening to the strong heartbeat, her breathing slowly calming.

With Su Huan’s current terrifying speed, a few days would suffice to return, but due to Lord Lian’s strong insistence, the two took detours, taking nearly a week to return to the Four Countries Peninsula.

The time had reached mid-February.

After a half-month siege by two major forces, the remnants of the Four Nations were completely purged, leaving either escaping to the interior or hiding in those dangerous, desolate areas which were left unattended, as spending a lot of energy for a few people wasn’t worthwhile.

During this time, the posthumous child left by Old Liu was born.

This was the first child born on the train, a boy.

In the narrow medical carriage, dozens of people crowded in, and if Yu Yue hadn’t sent some away, there would be no room to stand.

Everyone wanted to see the new life born after the apocalypse.

”Su Huan, give him a name.”

Yu Yue held the child for him to see, while the woman on the hospital bed revealed a look of anticipation.

Everyone looked at Su Huan.

The baby in swaddling had just opened his eyes, his face plump and round, resembling Old Liu, reaching out his small hands to try and grab him.

His little eyes, bright black, showed no fear of him.

Su Huan said casually, ”Let’s call him Qiyue.”

”Liu Qiyue?” Yu Yue was momentarily stunned, and those around didn’t immediately respond, merely habitually agreeing.

Only the woman on the bed instantly welled up; Old Liu died in July.

...

”February 18, 2037, Gravitational Balance.”

”Time flies quickly, new things replace old ones, and so do people.”

The train wasn’t significantly damaged, but due to the Tier Three Evolution Beasts, there’s much work to be done. Presently, Su Huan doesn’t have to worry much as many matters are directly handled by Shu Wei, who works swiftly.

Director Xu on the side concerning Rule Stone research made new breakthroughs, making the train’s ascent a priority project, now Su Huan mainly cooperates with them.

A pit Su Huan blasted was transformed into a temporary factory, divided into upper and lower layers, covered with a giant turtle shell over a hundred meters in diameter, with all its flesh emptied, designers going in and out with measuring instruments planning positions inside.

Below the turtle shell, Xiaoba crafted steel beams, supervised by Old Jiang leading the construction team.

Endless cacophony.

This is the first step of the train ascent project, upgrading the cultivation pod.

According to Director Xu and their plan, it uses the Tier Three Xuan Turtle shell as a carrier to rebuild the entire cultivation pod.

As a Tier Three Evolution Beast, the shell’s hardness is undisputed, being currently the hardest naturally occurring material, the turtle shell simultaneously serves as an energy permanent material with certain water-resist capabilities.

If they had this thing in the Flood Zone, no equipment would be needed; they would drift relying on this turtle shell.

When Su Huan approached, Director Xu and a group of elders surrounded Chen Ziliang, who held a pen drawing on the giant turtle shell, while Wan Xing stood beside with a glass filled with a blood-like viscous material.

Occasionally, it seemed to boil, wanting to overflow; Wan Xing added things to suppress it then.

Everyone was intently watching Chen Ziliang’s pen, and even Su Huan’s arrival didn’t draw greetings.
