Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Apart from those on duty, all the other management personnel have arrived.”

Shu Wei walked in and said.

Li Xinlong glanced at the other person and remained silent.

Su Huan put down his cup and stood up, saying indifferently, ”You should come too.”

The second-floor meeting room of the dining car was already filled with people, sitting according to their ranks, though not strictly enforced. People like Dean Zhou, Luo Jingyi, and the fool Chen Ziliang, even without positions, still sat with Professor Ma and a few other elders.

Contrarily, Su Reya and Old Jiang, who came from Black Kite, seemed to consciously avoid suspicion and sat separately.

The military officers, however, didn’t mind that and were used to mingling together.

Because there was a meeting later and smoking wasn’t allowed, He Jie brought a pack of betel nuts to chew to curb his addiction, but as soon as he took one out, he was robbed by this bunch of bastards.

Pang Tu smacked his lips and asked, ”Heard the noise was quite big last night?”

He Jie snorted noncommittally, ”A bunch of idiots, bullying that kid Ah Long, really thinking the train captain is a living Buddha.”

Giraffe chimed in, ”Mainly because we hadn’t taken care of Zhijin recently, made them feel capable.”

Mountain Goat analyzed, ”They probably originally wanted to test our relationship with Black Star, but what they should’ve figured out first is the train captain’s temper!”

A few men chuckled softly.

Suddenly feeling the oppressive aura downstairs starting to move, everyone’s expression turned serious, and their voices lowered.

When Su Huan appeared, even the oldest old factory manager stood up, causing a rustling sound of chairs throughout the second floor.

”Train Captain...”

Regardless of age or gender, whether light or deep voice, all the sounds converged into these three words simultaneously.

”Morning, everyone.”

Su Huan rarely joked and formally greeted everyone.

Today is the first meeting after the armed train captured Zhijin, and it’s also the meeting to decide the direction and main tasks for the future.

The meeting should have been held long ago, but dealing with the massive amount of zombie materials was a race against time, almost occupying all the armed train’s energy, hence only now was there time to start the meeting.

Correspondingly, the construction of Zhijin was extremely slow, most of the time letting Li Xinlong and others self-govern.

This led to the malicious incident last night.

”Sit down first.” Su Huan glanced at everyone, cross-checking the numbers, and curiously asked, ”Where’s Lao Er?”

He Jie snickered from the side, ”He’s a bit busy right now.”

Seeing him, Su Huan suddenly remembered the over six hundred people he took away, probably temporarily brought to the new recruit camp for target practice.

Since the last time on Tide Watching Island, executing tasks left to new recruits to do had become a tradition.

He had no objections to this.

Just like asking Li Xinlong, it’s fine as long as they’re all dead.

”Hmm, remember to give him a copy of the meeting minutes.”

Su Huan said.

”Understood.”

After saying this, the meeting room with dozens of people fell into silence, and all eyes turned to the train captain at the front.

There was reverence from the elders and curiosity from the newcomers.

However, Su Huan had long been indifferent to such a degree of attention.

Tapping his index finger lightly on the table, thinking about what to say next, as an internal train meeting, naturally, it couldn’t be represented by Hu Shuo or others.

”Roughly... three tasks.”

”The battlefield cleanup is finished, and now we have manpower freed up, so organize the Zhijin site. I don’t want to see a situation where there are ten thousand people and ten thousand factions.”

In the corner, Li Xinlong felt a twinge of anxiety, sensing the fleeting glances cast in his direction, and inexplicably, a wave of shame surged from the bottom of his heart.

Hu Shuo pondered for a moment, jotting down in his notebook: ”Implementing the three bureaus and two institutes system, clearing gangs...”

”The second task is about reclaiming the entire city of Zhijin. Leaving over three million zombies there is ultimately a hidden danger. I hope when I leave, Zhijin is complete, and the warehouse is full. Colonel He, no problems, right?”

He Jie looked serious and earnestly said, ”Currently, the train’s disposable troops are extremely limited. To eradicate zombies on a large scale, we need to wait for the new recruits to come out of training. Including the training costs, it would take over six months.”

Su Huan’s fingertips tapped the wooden table, making a thudding sound, calmly saying, ”Too long.”

It had only been a bit over half a year since he left the high-temperature zone, and to take half a year just for cleaning up zombies, adding in sorting out Zhijin, wouldn’t it take over a year?

This greatly exceeded his mental expectations.

He Jie frowned, ”Even doubling the size of the army on this basis wouldn’t take less than four months, plus we’re short on ammunition.”

”Then expand the army. Don’t worry about the ammunition, but I’ll only give you three months.” Su Huan narrowed his eyes, ”From the moment you start the assault, all resources are supplied without limit, but you only have three months; if you can’t manage that, I’ll step in myself.”

He Jie calculated the available forces and gritted his teeth, ”No problem, but during this time, the City Defense Army and Guard Corps must also be under my control.”

”All armed forces of the train and Zhijin are entirely under your command.”

Su Huan made the decision decisively.

For other higher-ups, casually handing over military power is naturally a taboo, but for Su Huan, forget a few ten thousand, even if it’s hundreds of thousands equipped with the most advanced weapons, it’s merely a snap of the fingers for him.

The only ones who can counter Evolvers are Evolvers of the same rank.

The only ones who can counter the train captain are Evolvers stronger than him.

In just a few words, the military power Li Xinlong grasped for just a few days was handed over.

Yet everyone present wasn’t surprised at all, as if it was meant to be.
