Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The post-war cleanup lasting far beyond Su Huan’s expectations.

Just cleaning up the zombie hordes in Weinan District took five days, as the crew and Armed Corps took shifts, leading Scavengers to slaughter the zombies remaining in the South District.

In those five days, Xiaoba erected a metal wall by the river, three point six meters wide and twenty meters high, filled with earth and stone inside by Chen Shan of the Black Star Five Tigers, blocking the agitated horde from the north.

Without the command of the Lady of the House, and no humans visible for a long time, the gathered zombie tide gradually dispersed.

Occasionally, some leapt over the wall, only to be shot by Lin Jin on patrol.

As the first to advance to Tier Two aside from the train captain, Lin Jin greatly stimulated He Jie and the other officers, now all striving hard to rush for Tier Two.

They need not worry about super large-scale zombie hordes; the train captain can snap his fingers and solve them.

The scattered zombies, numbering in the thousands across the district, are their main force to fight against, these zombies being quite unlucky, harassed by teams every day and night, twenty-four hours, withdrawing after each little by little consumption.

On the third day of fighting, zombies no longer chased upon seeing humans.

This phenomenon piqued Director Xu’s curiosity, leading the unfortunate zombies into a nightmare.

Director Xu, to test the zombies’ endurance limit and energy replenishment method, sealed the entire street and had two groups lure the zombies from both sides, making them run back and forth.

By the fourth day, ordinary zombies after ninety-plus hours of sprinting entered standby mode.

Some zombies showed cannibalistic behavior.

When Su Huan went to see on the fifth day, these zombies would only casually howl at humans and then lie in corners.

Yes, lying down.

This is the zombies’ primary recovery method other than feeding.

They rely on the Pan Energy floating in the air to supplement body energy, according to Su Huan’s perception, the speed is quite fast, much quicker than living humans absorbing air Pan Energy, though the efficiency of this replenishment is not high, a zombie completely exhausted needs at least twenty hours to restore its state.

”But for zombies, this is not a flaw, they have plenty of time.”

Standing atop the high wall, Su Huan said indifferently.

”Utilizing this information, we can effectively weaken the horde’s combat power.” Director Xu patted the clothes on the gap, saying, ”Regarding the ten-dimensional Basic Attributes test, I’ve got some leads, would you like to test it?”

Su Huan asked interestedly, ”What is the grading standard?”

”According to your statement, divided into two main categories: Physical systems: strength, speed, defense, endurance, constitution. Energy systems: total amount, intensity, precise control, duration, exemption resistance.”

”Then the level is referenced to Skill Level for comprehensive calculation, and the resulting level can match Skill Level.”

”Alright, I’ll try it a little later.”

...

Currently, the South District is only a bit ”cleaner,” not representing safety.

Dark corners of buildings still hide plenty of danger, but for most people, this is still an undiluted victory.

The various forces and Scavengers fought hard for so long, they believed they also qualified to enjoy the fruits of victory, hence the meeting was held.

The meeting took place in the hotel ballroom of Chenxi Square.

The eleven o’clock meeting filled by eight o’clock, with the increasingly prominent appearance of Evolvers exposed in battle, the atmosphere gradually heated up, reaching a peak when Jinfeng Peak, Tiejian City, and Black Star, the three major forces appeared.

Black Kite fled, Fuyuan Convoy annihilated, Black Star, due to the performances of Li Xinlong and others, was instantly pursued by other Scavengers.

Coupled with care from the Armed Corps, Black Star suffered the least loss during cleanup.

The four major became three major forces.

An interesting interlude occurred meanwhile, due to the Armed Train’s care, some Scavengers secretly spread rumors, believing Black Star is actually the train’s vanguard, essentially a single group.

The rumors grew more outrageous, initially claiming Li Xinlong’s mom had an affair with some train high-level, escalating to Li Xinlong’s mom having an affair with the train captain, by the third day, Li Xinlong became the train captain’s illegitimate child!

An infuriated Li Xinlong boiled over, not waiting to take action when Yu Yue returned aggressively from the frontline with the crew, executing all those gossipmongers on the spot.

This extinguished the rumor at its source, allowing Scavengers to settle down.

Various crew leaders tacitly did not report upwards, compressing this matter just like that.

Li Xinlong walked in, scanning the room, ignoring invitations to sit closest to the main seat, instead moving toward Wen Biao, the mob boss lacking the courage to lead ten thousand Scavengers in counterattack, rather cautiously sitting at the edge, humbly dealing with enthusiastic local leaders around.

Occasionally surveying the clock on the wall and people entering.

Carrying an air of courteous detachment.

Upon seeing Li Xinlong, some wished to establish connections, but Old Yang’s dark glance deterred them.

Old Yang’s terror-inducing ”Zombie Explosion” earned widespread fame in battle; two days ago, a small convoy wreaked havoc, barely reaching the Armed Train before Old Yang afflicted them with plague, tragic convoy-wide ulcerations, screaming for three hours before breathing their last.

Investigation revealed all convoy members’ bones rotted away, leaving terrifying impressions on all, nicknaming Old Yang privately as ”Wen Jun.”
