Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”It’s the train, the armed train has come to save us!”

A dirt-faced Scavenger pointed at the armed train and shouted loudly.

The people, who had been looking desolate, suddenly brightened up at the sight of the train.

Perhaps... no need to escape anymore?

Could they even make a fortune following the train?

Although many had never seen the train, they had heard about the ”death test” and ”generous treatment.”

In the eyes of the Scavengers, big means strong, hard means good, and to speak of the toughest force in the entire neutral town, it had to be the armed train!

What do other forces have?

A few broken cars, a few broken guns, even the leaders barely had enough to keep the pot boiling.

But the armed train?

Everyone can eat to their fill, everyone has hot water to bathe, everyone is protected by a secure, heavy armed train, and even their clothing crushes the Big Four!

The moment the armed train appeared, all who lacked the ability to survive this escape pinned their hopes on the armed train.

”It’s the train!”

”The armed train has come to save us!”

”I told you, the Big Four are unreliable, it’s forces like the armed train that we need.”

”Only the armed train can truly ensure the success of the base city plan.”

”Help me, I’m injured, it’s not a zombie bite, let me on the train...”

”My dad was left behind, can you help me find him, please.”

”The armed train wants to take us back to fight, brothers, turn around!”

”The true savior has arrived!”

”...”

When he heard the first shout.

Su Huan: ”Huh?”

When someone shouted that he could ensure the success of the base city plan.

Su Huan: ”Huh??”

When the word ”savior” came out, Su Huan was completely flabbergasted.

”You seem quite surprised by their response.”

A gentle voice appeared behind him.

Su Huan turned his head, an eyelid twitching slightly, the corner of his mouth revealing a cold white tooth, ”Are you mocking me?”

Dean Zhou, with streaks of white in his hair, appeared on the deck with Yu Jing and Tan Yunxi.

Dean Zhou was slightly startled, it was the first time she had seen Su Huan like this.

”That’s a compliment.”

”You’re mocking me.”

Su Huan repeated blankly.

Tan Yunxi’s big ears perked up uneasily, with hesitation in her eyes.

Yu Jing said calmly, ”He’s like a dog, you’ll get used to it.”

She finished by petting Tan Yunxi’s fluffy ears, ”Not talking about you.”

Tan Yunxi: ”...”

Now she felt insulted.

Tan Yunxi carefully glanced at the train master’s expression, thinking it’s fine if they insult me, but is it okay to insult the train master?

Yu Jing seemed to know what she was thinking, ”When you owe a lot, you don’t worry about more debts, and when you have a lot of lice, they stop biting.”

Su Huan stared at the burgeoning Pan Energy inside Yu Jing and suddenly laughed out loud.

”Train master, there’s someone ahead on the road, how should we handle it?”

The voice of the one with glasses came over the broadcast.

”Run over them.”

Su Huan’s smile didn’t fade, the golden sheen of the sunset passed through his wind-blown black hair, illuminating his sharply defined face, dazzling Tan Yunxi. But the chill in those words made her shiver.

In her heart, she chanted silently.

’This is definitely a pervert, Tan Yunxi, Tan Yunxi, why are you having a crush at a time like this...’

Panic-stricken shouts came from under the train, but were soon drowned out by the increasingly loud calls of ”savior” from afar.

”What is it?”

Su Huan’s expression suddenly calmed, as if the earlier teasing had never happened.

”The results of the [Guardian] Power Armor we just developed are in.”

Yu Jing responded.

Su Huan was somewhat surprised, his gaze naturally falling on Dean Zhou. He knew Yu Jing’s level well, quite innovative but lacking time and experience, so the main credit for developing the Power Armor naturally went to Zhou Qing.

”And the results?”

Of the three, only Yu Jing was wearing the [Engineer] exoskeleton, the others were dressed in regular work uniforms.

...

The armed train officially entered Zhijin City, encountering more retreating Scavengers.

Some were utterly terrified, unwilling to go back even with someone leading the way.

Conversely, there were those unwilling to accept defeat, looking to join the armed train for a big haul.

In moments of choice, gamblers are never lacking.

As they progressed, the armed train inexplicably gained tens of thousands of fervent followers, as if following the train automatically aligned them with the same faction. This eerie fervor was spreading.

The most frustrated was Wen Biao at the back.

Evidently, he was the top lackey of the train master. Hearing the armed train was coming to Zhijin, he left his thriving little tavern and tagged along, only to find himself competing with this pack of wild dogs.

No, he had to devise a way to stand out in front of the train master!

As they advanced, the train finally encountered the perimeter of the zombie horde. Although the numbers weren’t as terrifying as the city’s core, it was only a thin layer, like a busy shopping street on a weekend, not even piled up. Tier One Zombies were even sparser.

But even at this level of zombies, the terrified Scavengers came to an abrupt halt.

One by one, they turned pale and looked towards their backbone.

Yet, with Liang Kuan not on the train, not even the speakers were manned, the train merely rolled forward.

A zombie horde not even thicker than the treads didn’t qualify to waste ammunition on.

The zombies stirred, and the Scavengers stirred too.

They saw the horrifying zombie horde as if it had been thrown into a meat grinder, bones mixed with flesh being crushed into a sticky mass. The buildings on both sides of the street appeared as if they had been sprayed by a sprinkler, evenly coated in a layer of dark red paste.

Then they were brutally gouged by the severely oversized armor of the armed train.

Walls collapsed, buildings fell sideways.
