Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Bang!”

As the Skull Crusher at the rear slammed into the modified bus, this uneven battle erupted completely.

The zombies that had been chasing all the way finally found an opportunity. Without the protection of vehicles, ordinary people couldn’t fire a few shots before being torn to shreds like chicks. Blood and intestines blocked the congested street.

The cloying, rancid smell of corpses filled Li Xinlong’s nostrils. Every moment, he could hear the wails of his subordinates and the excited howls of the zombies.

He kept a stern face, pushing several of his skills to the limit. Zombies within a ten-meter radius were instantly killed upon showing their heads, but he still couldn’t salvage the Black Star Convoy’s defeat.

”Click click—”

The empty chamber sound came from his rifle.

”Reload!”

Li Xinlong shouted, but no response came, as if he had stepped into thin air.

The mysterious woman they had picked up had vanished!

His hand quickly wiped over his body, but the magazines on him had long been exhausted during the chase, and the zombies in front had already climbed onto the roof.

”Damn!”

Li Xinlong hardened his expression, using his Martin boots to kick at the zombie that had just climbed up.

The latter’s neck snapped, its body flying backward.

Looking at the two Night Demons within reach, his eyes turned crimson, and he swung his rifle like a baseball bat. Under the tremendous strength of the Tier One ”Defender,” the rifle emitted a solid thud.

This force, enough to blow a zombie’s head, only made the Night Demon take a step back.

With a mechanical part embedded in its head, it lunged again.

”Bang!”

A sniper bullet whooshed past his ear, blowing apart the entire body.

Li Xinlong was stunned, turning to see Wei Tian crushed into a meat patty by the Skull Crusher, while Pang Ke held a sniper shouting hoarsely at him.

The voice was mixed amidst the zombie howls, and he couldn’t hear it clearly.

But he could make out the word ”Run”.

Li Xinlong looked at the convoy being torn apart by the zombie horde, and the endless tide of zombies in the distance, feeling dead inside.

Run?

Run where?

”Zzz-la-z-la...”

A faint electric current sound suddenly emerged on the chaotic battlefield, but somehow, it was the clearest among all the noises.

Li Xinlong instinctively raised his head to see dense currents spreading across the battlefield!

A bluish glow flashed by.

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, Li Xinlong would have thought he was hallucinating.

”Boom—boom—”

First came a deep rumble from the foundation, like the collapsing viscera of a dying giant, as cracks on the load-bearing pillars suddenly opened dozens of golden single eyes, the flash of burning explosive fuses.

Li Xinlong, in a daze, looked at the side building, only to see a 17-story building collapse with a roar, with concrete chunks disintegrating as they fell, crashing into the zombie tide like cannonballs, directly severing the street they had fled!

The ground trembled, dust flew, and the booming was just beginning to spread.

Dozens of buildings near Chenxi Square all let out muffled sounds in an uncanny coincidence.

As if commanded, they collapsed toward the plaza teeming with zombies.

In an instant, the booming of collapsing buildings, chaotic zombie howls, and the crisp sound of bones breaking composed a grand crescendo.

In the face of such a massive tremor, even the most mindless zombies paused in confusion.

”Bang bang bang...”

On the edge of Chenxi Square, a 12-story high-end hotel had dozens of glass curtain walls shatter into a crystal rain shower, as people, startled like birds, looked up.

A figure stood on the hotel rooftop, with the hem of a gray-green trench coat flapping fiercely in the wind, black combat boots on the edge, and bluish electric arcs spreading from it across the entire building like a spider web.

Holding a cutting-edge electromagnetic rifle, the figure’s intense murderous aura, seen through the scope, sent a chill down everyone’s spine.

”Kid, still not running?”

A raspy female voice, sharp and forceful, suddenly echoed in Li Xinlong’s ears.

Hearing this voice, Li Xinlong felt struck by lightning.

”Mom?”

”When they come to, even calling me ’mom’ won’t save you.”

The female voice, tinged with helplessness, softened slightly.

Li Xinlong, like being injected with adrenaline, swung his rifle to knock away the nearest zombie and shouted at everyone before running toward the hotel.

Thanks to the building collapses, the original zombie tide was disrupted, and most zombies ran slower than the Evolvers in the complex terrain of the ruins. Only a few agile Tier One zombies could catch up.

But before they approached, they were met with crossfire.

It was then that Li Xinlong saw not only his mom but also the 200 men from the outpost.

These were the elites he had left to protect Jiang Rong, not old and weak, and under Jiang Rong’s cover, Li Xinlong and the others reached the building’s base, then scrambled up, climbing in through the broken windows of the third floor.

In less than three minutes, over 800 people had half dead or wounded.

In this environment, an injury was almost synonymous with death.

One of the Black Star Five Tigers, Wei Tian, had died tragically on the spot, and the remaining Tier One Evolvers were all injured.

Li Xinlong, panting heavily, rushed to the rooftop, seeing Jiang Rong with a gun, covering the people’s ascent.

Her black hair tied into a simple ponytail, bouncing slightly with the recoil of shooting, her gray-green shoulders sharp and clean, the whole aura like a freshly polished new gun, dangerous and unyielding, a large backpack she never parts with at the corner.

Li Xinlong suddenly felt his once familiar mom had become so unfamiliar.
