Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 351: Chapter 240: Cultivation Pod (Part 3)

”Should we report this?”

Tong Zizhan watched Qi Zhendong with interest, ”He just wants to see his own father, didn’t do anything. Why report it?”

Because both of them had reconnaissance and stealth abilities, they didn’t join He Jie’s hunting team.

Instead, they stayed behind to maintain order, stand guard, and patrol.

At that moment, a nimble figure emerged from the train, glanced around, quickly climbed upstairs, and said from the windowsill where the two were.

”Command post sent an order, time to change shifts. Here’s the roster, first take everyone to report to the logistics group about the work results.”

”Received.”

Tong Zizhan jumped to the ground and walked towards Qi Zhendong, sighing, ”Looks like I’ll have to be the bad guy.”

Gao Yuan silently followed behind, suddenly saying, ”This doesn’t really count as earning merit, right?”

”Who cares about merit, earning it doesn’t really matter!”

Tong Zizhan said angrily.

Originally, with his merits, he could have gone back to headquarters to enjoy himself, but that damn superior forced him to stay here.

Month after month, when the heck will he be able to go back!

The thought of it made him even more furious.

Even the way he looked at Qi Zhendong changed.

Qi Zhendong had just taken a couple of steps when he noticed two armed soldiers moving. Initially, he paid no attention, but he felt their gaze lingering in his area.

He felt somewhat uneasy.

He thought his ability had failed.

Instinctively raised his hand, yet saw nothing, which finally calmed him down.

He didn’t believe that the armed train could easily see through his disguise.

Qi Zhendong cautiously stood still, holding his breath, making no sound.

But he increasingly felt something was off; initially, their gazes just fell on him, but as they got closer, they landed directly on his face!

Just as Qi Zhendong’s heart leapt into his throat.

The two people walked right past him.

It was just a coincidence!

Qi Zhendong felt a moment of relief internally.

”Hurry up and follow, we need to report to the logistics group and prepare for shift change.”

A voice full of resentment urged from behind.

His expression, having narrowly escaped trouble, turned completely stiff.

This time, he dared not harbor any luck.

Because when they saw he wasn’t moving, they all halted, one hand with a ring waved in front of him.

Gao Yuan curiously said, ”What ability is this? Stealth that makes you deaf too?”

Qi Zhendong was momentarily speechless, revealing his form.

Dejectedly, he followed the two outward.

Somewhat unwillingly he asked, ”How did you see me?”

Tong Zizhan glanced at him, too lazy to answer.

Gao Yuan said, ”Seems like your ability only tricks the eyes, right?”

”Tricking the eyes isn’t enough?”

”Vision is the least useful sense. Not just us, many on the train could spot you.”

Qi Zhendong recalled the eerie look both Su Huan and Zhang Min gave him in the bar.

Suddenly fell silent.

The once-infallible invisibility at Iron Mountain Shelter was just a joke on the armed train.

Tong Zizhan and the others went to find Qi Zhenbang, who was equally surprised to see his second brother behind them.

Qi Zhenbang shook his head at him, indicating he shouldn’t worry.

The four entered the train’s mid-section and arrived at carriage No. 27.

This was the main office for the logistics group, as well as the most important resource storage room in the train’s rear, occupying six double-decker carriages in total.

Carriages 27, 28, 29.

Almost supplying everything needed for the train’s occupants, all sorts of materials, from tailoring shop fabric, reserved food, Scavenger exoskeletons, firearm ammunition, to everyday items like toilet paper and playing cards were included.

On regular days, point exchanges were conducted in this carriage as well.

Managed by Chief Steward Hu Shuo.

Though the armed train was rushing outside, the exchange carriage remained bustling, albeit with a slight sense of hurriedness in demeanor.

By the time they arrived, soldiers had already brought in survivors dismantling materials.

However, they came in waves.

Unlike them, who only brought two.

Because of the Qi Brothers’ special status, they needed separate handling.

The logistics group was prepared and had opened a special window in carriage No. 27 for reportings.

Behind the window sat a voluptuous woman, wearing an ordinary dark green short-sleeved shirt, yet it stretched her collar to a deep plunge, her elbows rested on the window ledge, even allowing a glimpse over her waist of her rounded hips, showcasing her abundant curves.

Seeing her, Tong Zizhan’s throat tightened slightly, awkwardly laughing, ”What are you doing here?”

Su Reya gave a flirtatious glance, ”Aren’t you here too?”

The two knew the details about each other, fearing the other might say something inappropriate, Tong Zizhan quickly added, ”I meant, how come a dignified Tier One Evolver like you is a window clerk?”

At this, Su Reya’s face showed a trace of resentment.

She hadn’t been idle recently, busy trying to seduce her superior, which was Chief Steward Hu Shuo.

But unexpectedly, Hu Shuo remained unmoved, frustrating Su Reya to the point of almost sneaking naked into his bed.

That’s exactly what she ended up doing, and the unfazed Hu Shuo assigned her to be a window clerk instead.

Leaving Su Reya utterly frustrated.

She even started doubting her own allure.
