Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 361: Chapter 245: ”Whale!

”With the amount of explosives on the train, can we disrupt the vortex’s balance?”

As soon as the words were spoken, several experts on the screen visibly paused.

Professor Ma uncertainly said, ”The pressure of shockwaves in water is three times higher than in air, it seems possible...”

The director pondered for a moment, ”It might not be enough; the vortex’s energy is distributed over millions of cubic meters of water, and while the explosive energy is concentrated, its effective range is limited. The amount of ammunition on the train is hardly sufficient.”

Su Huan licked his lips, his eyes brightened, ”So the idea is feasible; it’s just a matter of insufficient quantity, right?”

The others quickly calculated with their students and assistants nearby and acknowledged Su Huan’s idea.

”As long as the quantity is sufficient, it’s feasible to temporarily control the vortex, and we can use the opportunity to escape.”

Director Xu concluded definitively.

At this time, a staff member shouted loudly.

”The train has sunk two meters, and it is estimated that it will take another three minutes to completely submerge.”

”There are one minute and fifty seconds left until the train is drawn into the vortex.”

Su Huan lifted his eyelids, ”Then let’s do it this way. Have He Jie bring out all the explosives from the warehouse.”

...

Armed Hall.

Five hundred soldiers were lined up within, and a figure pacing anxiously in front was like a bear.

Several officers and acquaintances gathered into roughly four small circles.

One naturally consists of Mountain Goat, Qu Hang, and other Steel Council descended soldiers.

Another is Tong Zizhan and Gao Yuan, the two of them isolated everyone else.

Then there are Lu Xiao, Jiang Rong, and senior passengers who were later promoted.

They count as the leadership cultivated by the armed train itself.

The last wave just arrived was Yu Yue, Lin Jin, and others.

The four groups roughly formed the situation of the Armed Corps.

It seems a bit complicated, but it’s actually not as distinct as described.

Like Yu Yue, who spends most of the time cooking for the Train Captain in the dining car and doesn’t participate in the management of the Armed Corps, so within the corps, He Jie is the absolute authority.

Mountain Goat, Qu Hang, and others had long since competed with He Jie, and would not waste time again.

Lu Xiao had completely accepted his fate after being opposed by the Train Captain several times, no longer fantasizing about managing the train but instead focused on raising his status within the corps, and thus became a lot quieter.

Jiang Rong never thought about these things.

Besides exercising and doing tasks, she hardly has a personal life.

As for Tong Zizhan, he is eager to hide himself in a hole and even less likely to stand out.

Therefore, a group of people with different identities gets along surprisingly harmoniously.

Upon seeing Yu Yue, He Jie quickly welcomed her, not directly asking but merely giving a curious glance.

Those behind were all ears.

They were unaware of the experts’ calculation results.

Also unaware that the armed train was about to be torn apart by the vortex.

Because of the experience of being dragged underwater some time ago, facing the storm outside the train, many people didn’t take it seriously.

Only curious why the Train Captain suddenly wanted them to assemble.

A corps of over five hundred Evolvers could entirely fight a small-scale war when deployed.

Yu Yue’s drooping eyes swept over the group, her once gentle gaze now carrying a hint of clearness, ”Within one minute, concentrate all explosives on the train inside the Armed Hall.”

Among the crowd, Lu Xiao heard explosives and inexplicably thought of that day crossing Mojiang, the figure laughing wildly amidst the explosion flames on the train’s roof.

This caused his heart to suddenly tighten.

Is the crisis really at this extent?

Lu Xiao carefully searched Yu Yue’s face but found no trace.

Instinctively glancing at those nearby, he saw the same concern in Miao Qi’s eyes.

’What does the Train Captain plan to do?’

But there wasn’t much time for them to ponder.

Upon hearing the time limit, He Jie had no doubt and immediately commanded all officers to disperse and lead teams to execute the mission.

He Jie knew the location of every ammunition store by heart, aware of how much explosives were left in each!

The Armed Hall immediately resounded with thundering footsteps, hastening the sinking speed of the entire train.

He Jie remained stationary, waiting for everyone to leave before asking, ”Is the situation very severe this time?”

Yu Yue’s tense expression showed no sign of softening, ”Let’s go inside together.”

He Jie’s hand paused as he reached for a cigarette, biting it at the edge of his teeth while following into the cockpit.

As if entering a large military command center.

Staff shouted various data tirelessly.

Water depth, temperature, train status, and so on...

A countdown timer flickered on a screen hanging on the wall.

Only one minute and thirty seconds remained on it.

Su Huan stood alone on the highest command platform, his eyes had somehow turned into a bizarre blue-white color, his black hair slightly floating, and the terrifying pressure sunk hearts.

If any Evolver were training next to the Train Captain now, their promotion speed would increase by thirty percent!

Seeing him like this, He Jie felt uneasy.

Turning to look at the panoramic screen, he bit down and broke the cigarette between his teeth!

”Damn!”

The pitch-black water swirled counter-clockwise frantically, containing terrible power, while the train was infinitely close to the vortex’s edge.

Pressure gauges inside the carriage trembled violently, and the changing pressure on the car body elicited creaking sounds.

”Crack—crack—”

The train’s nose, previously submerged due to the weight of the [Alps Hammer], was instantly squeezed out by the water pressure, lifting high above the water surface, being dragged by the vortex.

Dozens of drones hovering high like birds tethered at the feet, screaming as they were swept into the storm above the vortex.

The connecting area between the train’s nose and the subsequent train emitted an overloaded groan.

Inside the train, the personnel who managed to hold on previously were all tossed into the air, accompanying the nose’s lift, tossing violently like stir-fried dishes in a pan.
