Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 91: Chapter 88: Spoils and the Electromagnetic Sniper Rifle

But this path hadn’t reached Tier Four before his rebirth.

The most formidable one is a Tier Three profession wanted by the Mechanical God Cult.

Yes, still the Mechanical God Cult.

Obviously, each group has its dirty and disgraceful business, but the Mechanical God Cult plays the biggest villain in the wasteland.

But when they go after those who play with the forbidden flesh and blood... it’s dogs fighting each other.

No one’s more noble than the other.

Su Huan identified each of the five corpses on the ground and estimated the remaining numbers under He Jie.

The Steel Council operates strictly based on squad units.

In numbers like 5, 20, 100, 300.

And the current Steel Council hasn’t yet established a massive gathering of survivors or a follower system; one soldier is just one soldier, unlike years later when each regular soldier has a trail of outer-circle servant soldiers and followers.

One person is equivalent to an army, with mighty combat strength.

This is why Su Huan wants to study the Steel Council’s system.

He has too many people under him; he can’t manage them with precision. As a leader of power, he should build a framework, an order, a reasonable reward and punishment mechanism to motivate his subordinates, instead of personally going to the front to drive each person.

So even including Captain He himself, there are at most 15 people left.

But in reality, He Jie’s manpower was two fewer than Su Huan had estimated, because two were directly killed during a vehicle interception, and after removing the five-man team sent to the front, only eight people remained outside the armory.

If it weren’t for a subordinate with a peculiar ability to deflect bullets, Captain He would also be buried here.

Ten minutes passed, and Lu Xiao finished cleaning the battlefield with his team.

They seized a total of two Gray Wolf-5 modular combat rifles, using 5.56×45mm NATO rounds, two Grizzly-7 heavy machine guns with a 30-round magazine/100-round belt dual-feed mode, and one Gray Elephant-3 shotgun.

These primary weapons were part of a set, and there were some secondary weapons with more scattered models.

However, the seized ammunition was minimal.

Lu Xiao came over, ”The bulletproof vests and night vision goggles were all damaged. Judging by the equipment, they resemble a foreign special forces unit, but some tactical movements...”

”Feels familiar, right?”

Su Huan said lightly, turning to walk toward the armory.

With the Steel Council’s squad configuration, the assault troops and Firepower Hand in He Jie’s team should all be dead.

And their weapons of mass destruction were consumed against the zombie horde; the only remaining threat was the sniper.

But the area around the armory is flat, with the tallest building being the six-story apartment ahead.

If they dare to hide there, it’s purely suicidal.

There are still piles of rocket launchers in the armory untapped.

Lu Xiao’s expression only briefly darkened, he took a deep breath, shook off those messy thoughts, and quickly followed his footsteps.

After another hour, the entire armory was inventoried by the group, with the most being ammunition.

Rifle ammunition: Approximately 100,000 rounds of 5.56mm standard cartridges (50 boxes × 2000 rounds)

Pistol ammunition: Approximately 30,000 rounds of 9mm (30 boxes × 1000 rounds)

Shotgun ammunition: Approximately 5,000 rounds of 12-gauge shells (10 boxes × 500 rounds)

Machine gun ammunition: Approximately 200,000 rounds of 7.62×51mm (belt box)

Anti-aircraft machine gun ammunition: Approximately 50,000 rounds of 12.7mm, approximately 20,000 rounds of 14.5mm.

Special ammunition: Armor-piercing/tracer rounds make up about 5% of the total.

All manufactured 20 years ago, steel-cased rounds, which is quite normal; the military hoards like a hamster, you’ll never know how much they’ve stored.

Ten boxes of various grenades, ten rocket launchers, and 50 rounds of ammunition.

There were very few guns: 20 standard assault rifles, 20 submachine guns, 5 sniper rifles, 5 light machine guns, one 14.5 anti-aircraft machine gun, two 12.7 anti-aircraft machine guns.

Fifty sets of full bulletproof vests and helmets were also found.

But what delighted Su Huan most was discovering an old-style City Breaker-3 anti-material electromagnetic sniper rifle in such an antique armory.

This sniper rifle’s most significant feature is the lack of traditional gunpowder, using kinetic energy for damage.

Its power source is a backpack-style high-density battery, and it uses dual-rail acceleration to propel the projectile close to Mach 5 speed.

It was precisely the electromagnetic sniper rifle that could kill enemies from 5 kilometers away, once held by the major!

Su Huan held the 1.8-meter-long sniper rifle, his eyes shining, ”No wonder, it was here all along!”

This rifle was almost a perfect match for his abilities.

He could easily discard the cumbersome battery pack and directly use his energy supply.

He never anticipated finding something like this coming in.

He thought it was an electromagnetic weapon acquired by the Steel Council later on.

He never expected it to be in the armory.

Combined with the hundreds of thousands of rounds of vintage ammunition, not just the Steel Council, he felt he could take over Ping’an County!

Two lifetimes never afforded him such a well-financed battle!

Everyone was in high spirits.

Ammunition isn’t consumable; even if the train conductor claims it all, it will enhance the strength of the entire armed train.

Their safety would naturally be improved.

Moreover, there’s only one conductor, how could he use up all these bullets?

He would undoubtedly distribute some to them.

Although nobody voiced it, they all had their own little calculations in mind.

They spent an hour moving out all the firearms and ammunition, but before leaving, Su Huan cautiously ordered someone to launch three small fireworks at the six-story apartment.

As expected, a sniper was blown out.

Nonetheless, Lu Xiao’s team still lost another member.

The current situation was that Lu Xiao’s team, counting him, had a total of 10 people, while Jiang Rong’s team had 3 people.

Yes, Jiang Rong’s team gained two new members in the past couple of days.

A thin man and a rather robust woman, who looked honest and simple, but were quite clever when situations arose.

Just now, that woman joined the others to launch a rocket.

After firing, she rolled on the ground and scrambled back,

leaving Su Huan astounded.

Even though he didn’t understand if this ”tactic” was useful, looking at the outcome,

one of the other men died.

She avoided a one-third chance of dying.

After several more tests to ensure safety, Su Huan came out. The acid rain still hadn’t stopped, instead growing heavier than before.

The murky rainwater almost obscured all vision.

The situation was in their favor.

Seeing that Liang Kuan and others were about to load up their vehicles, Su Huan quickly stopped them, turning to Lu Xiao, ”Check for any bombs on the vehicles.”

Lu Xiao’s mouth twitched; his counter-surveillance skills surpassed his own as a soldier, not knowing how he trained it.

He did not waste words, hastily moving forward to inspect.

After all, he was the only one in the team with that capability.

Sure enough, he found some.

And not just one, every vehicle had one!

”Alright, the danger is eliminated!”

Su Huan squinted at Yu Yue, ”Listen, see if there are any abnormal sounds from the vehicle?”
