Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 84: Chapter 82: Shocked to Death

”Bang——”

The loud and furious sound rang out outside the car, like a father’s chest echoing as he breathed, rumbling loudly.

But the impact point wasn’t on their heads.

Nor was it on their carriage.

”Boss, what was that?”

”Heavy sniper!” Lu Xiao wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, looking ahead with lingering fear.

The opponent’s stance was obviously aimed at the armed train.

No idea what’s going on, hasn’t the train been fleeing all along, so how did it attract such a formidable enemy?

”A sniper rifle? Can it penetrate steel plates?”

The young man beside him asked curiously.

Lu Xiao gritted his teeth, ”You might not know what the 12.7 caliber means, but transforming this gun into a rapid-fire makes it an anti-aircraft machine gun. With precise aim, you could theoretically shoot down planes with it!”

”Forget about our 3mm thick iron plate, even the 15mm thick steel plate of the armed train ahead can be penetrated with one shot!”

”Damn, that’s fierce! Doesn’t that mean Su... the conductor is doomed?”

Lu Xiao glared at him with disappointment, ”Idiot! We’re all on the same train, if it derails, where the hell do you think you can go?!”

With that, he ignored him and crawled towards the front carriage.

...

Inside carriage number 2, Yu Yue stood stupefied behind the cupboard.

Su Huan stood to her left-front, smilingly raising his right hand, with his palm flesh torn and blood gushing out eagerly.

In that critical moment, she only saw Su Huan reaching out and drawing a line in front of her, the bullet that should’ve hit her shoulder was suddenly deflected by some eerie force, burying itself into the steel plate of the carriage behind.

”You... let me bandage you!” Yu Yue hesitated for a moment and then decisively said.

Then she went to rummage through the medical kit prepared on the dining car.

”No need for that trouble.”

Su Huan waved his hand, the wound quickly carbonizing and turning black, the blood immediately stopped, filling the carriage with the smell of roasted pig’s hoof.

Throughout, he didn’t even frown, as if it wasn’t his hand.

He could shape intangible energy into tangible forms, naturally, he could use this energy to interfere with matter.

Just like moments ago.

He crafted an energy shield, slightly deflecting the armor-piercing bullet that had consumed a massive amount of kinetic energy.

If it weren’t for the enemy’s hefty caliber (truth), he wouldn’t even be grazed by the airwave.

Of course, this didn’t mean he could withstand a heavy sniper head-on.

This had mainly to do with their considerable distance from each other.

Yu Yue looked at his palm, the long and arched eyebrows knitted together.

”Get down.”

Su Huan’s voice was cool and clear.

For the first time, Yu Yue didn’t obediently heed his command, instead picking up her sniper rifle from the side, quickly opening the window, and pulling the bolt to aim at the off-road vehicle pursuing from behind the building.

”Bang!”

The off-road vehicle’s view vanished as it crashed into the walls on either side.

Yu Yue stubbornly pulled the bolt again, ejecting the shell, her eyes behind the sight narrowing, the upward curve of her eye tails tinged with danger.

Su Huan’s face showed a change in color.

This shot finally hit the off-road vehicle, though it was blocked by the vehicle’s armor.

Attempting to shoot again, she was stopped by Su Huan, ”Good girl, you lie down first.”

Only then did Yu Yue relent, handing her sniper rifle over to him.

Lao San also brought two brothers over, bursting in and shouting, ”Captain, it seems like we’re being attacked!”

Su Huan walked to the window, looking at the barely-visible off-road vehicle a kilometer away, speaking directly, ”It’s certainly not just ’seems like’. Notify everyone to lay low, tell Xiaoba to protect Liang Kuan, and not to worry about anything else, keep increasing speed!”

Lao San and his men immediately left.

Su Huan’s gaze was deep. In his previous life, it was Captain He who opened the armory, the commander of a hundred-vehicle convoy of the Steel Council, protector of the Dominator domain, Tier Three ”Master of Firearms”, his body enhanced through multiple genetic upgrades, capable of dual-wielding anti-aircraft machine guns, and handling artillery single-handedly.

Renowned for his exploits, the latest being in the ”New City Plan”, where he led a troop to annihilate tens of thousands of zombies in the county.

Becoming the founder of the first city after the apocalypse by the Steel Council.

Later, during the massive zombie migration in high-temperature zones, he became the executor of the ”Fire Wall Plan”.

If it weren’t for his low evolution level, Lin Jin, an ordinary person who awakened in the New City plan, couldn’t have risen to prominence later.

But by his estimation, the current Captain He should be the same as him, just a Tier One ”Firepower Hand”.

If the opponent were Tier Three, or even Tier Two, he would have charged in with heavy artillery to blast his train by now.

Su Huan narrowed his eyes.

’See if I can find out who tried to kill me back then...’

...

Watching the armed train getting farther away, He Jie tightly clenched his fist.

The off-road vehicle attempting to chase the train in city terrain was indeed a Herculean task.

From start to finish, they found only one chance to fire a shot.

Then there were endless waves of zombies.

Even for this elite squad, being caught off guard, it was quite a handful to deal with, making the situation perilous.

He Jie growled viciously, ”Greyhound, switch spots!”

The soldier driving the off-road vehicle immediately relaxed his grip on the controls, squeezing over to the passenger seat.

In three or four seconds, the two of them switched places in the narrow driver’s seat.

As soon as he sat down, He Jie floored the pedal.

The modified off-road vehicle in his hands was like a roaring lion unleashed, madly weaving through the zombie crowd.

The three off-road vehicles behind had to push their engines, lest they get left behind.

”Hold on tight!”

A fierce look crossed He Jie’s face as he charged directly towards a roadside sedan.

The off-road vehicle was like an Australian kangaroo, leaping onto the roof of a nearby small building.

The three cars behind were momentarily stunned, then changed direction to follow around.

”Bang bang bang...”

He Jie’s car smashed through a dozen old water heaters along the way, finally closing the distance with the armed train, the rail tracks just below the four-story building, the two barely twenty meters apart.

One above, one below.

The two vehicles achieved a brief parallel.

At this distance, Su Huan could clearly see He Jie’s fierce expression, his eyes revealing a single message, ”Kid, I’ve got you now!”

Su Huan nonchalantly smiled, Captain He was truly fierce in his younger days.

But, this distance was perfect for his transmission range.

As the soldier in the rear seat raised his gun, explosive sounds erupted inside the armed train carriage.

A blue spear frantically flickered, like a sprite trapped within his hand.

All the metal objects inside the dining car began to tremble.

Su Huan aimed out the window, hurling it at the off-road vehicle that was leaping down from the four-story building.

The cold blue spear, like a spider web tearing through space, traced a zigzag pattern through the air, directly hitting the modified off-road vehicle mid-air.

Then exploded with a mighty roar!
