Yandere Stream

Every instinct Kai possessed screamed at him to run.

Not to fight.

Not to look.

Just run.

The pale hands continued emerging from the black doorway one after another, each one gripping the frame with slow, deliberate movements. Their fingers were unnaturally long, the joints bending at impossible angles, as though they had been designed for climbing rather than grasping.

They weren’t trying to enter.

They were making room.

Something behind them was coming.

The older Kai didn’t hesitate.

”Close your eyes!”

The command cut through the apartment.

Kai obeyed before he even realized he had made the decision. His eyelids snapped shut, and beside him, Daniel did the same.

The older Kai moved immediately.

His footsteps slammed against the floor as he rushed forward and drove his shoulder into the hidden door.

Nothing happened.

The door didn’t shake.

It didn’t crack.

It didn’t even react.

He stepped back and hit it again.

Still nothing.

The older Kai’s breathing became heavier.

”It’s holding it open.”

The building answered with a violent groan.

The entire apartment trembled as if something enormous had grabbed the foundation and squeezed. Dust fell from the ceiling. Picture frames rattled against the walls before crashing onto the floor.

Kai kept his eyes shut.

He wanted to open them.

Every part of him wanted to know what was happening.

But something deeper told him that seeing it would be a mistake.

Even through his eyelids...

He could feel it.

Not light.

Not darkness.

Attention.

Something was aware of him.

Something was looking directly at him.

The sensation crawled beneath his skin, spreading through his body like ice.

Every nerve screamed the same warning.

If he opened his eyes...

Something would change forever.

”Luna!”

The older Kai’s voice echoed through the apartment.

”Don’t speak!”

The microphone clicked.

For a moment, there was only static.

Then Luna answered.

”...O-Okay.”

”Whatever you hear...”

The older Kai’s voice lowered.

”Don’t answer.”

Kai frowned.

”Hear what?”

The older Kai didn’t respond.

Instead...

Another voice did.

”Kai?”

His entire body froze.

The voice didn’t come from the doorway.

It came from somewhere inside the apartment.

Soft.

Warm.

Familiar.

His mother.

”...Kai?”

His breath caught.

”I made breakfast.”

The world seemed to stop.

No.

That wasn’t possible.

His mother had been dead for four years.

”You always let it get cold.”

The voice was perfect.

Not close.

Not similar.

Perfect.

Every pause.

Every small change in tone.

Every little detail his memory had preserved.

His hands began shaking.

The older Kai immediately shouted.

”Don’t answer!”

”I know!”

Kai forced the words out through clenched teeth.

His chest tightened painfully.

It wasn’t fear.

Not anymore.

It was grief.

The voice moved closer.

”I miss you.”

Kai’s throat tightened.

For a brief moment...

He wasn’t standing in Apartment 7C.

He was a child again.

Hearing that voice.

Feeling safe.

Wanting just five more minutes.

Then another voice interrupted.

”Dude.”

Kai froze again.

Derek.

”You there?”

Kai’s eyebrows pulled together.

”Derek?”

”I lost connection.”

The voice sounded annoyed.

Normal.

Real.

”You gotta help me.”

The older Kai slammed his fist against the wall.

”It’s learning.”

Daniel suddenly whispered.

”...Dad?”

Kai looked toward him despite keeping his eyes closed.

Daniel’s breathing changed.

His voice became smaller.

”I...”

A pause.

”...I’m sorry.”

The apartment filled with voices.

Dozens.

Then hundreds.

Parents.

Friends.

Lost lovers.

Children.

Every voice belonged to someone.

Someone missed.

Someone mourned.

Someone impossible.

Kai finally understood.

It wasn’t copying random sounds.

It wasn’t guessing.

It was searching.

Digging through every regret.

Every wound.

Every memory that still carried pain.

Then it wore those voices like masks.

The older Kai suddenly laughed.

A loud, genuine laugh.

Kai almost opened his eyes.

”What?”

”It’s cheating.”

The older Kai sounded almost relieved.

”It doesn’t know.”

Kai frowned.

”What?”

The older Kai took a slow breath.

”It doesn’t know who Luna is.”

Silence.

For a moment, even the creature seemed quiet.

”It remembers your grief.”

”It remembers your guilt.”

”It remembers your regrets.”

His voice softened.

”But...”

A small smile appeared in his voice.

”It can’t imitate someone you refuse to lose.”

Kai felt something inside him shift.

The voices around the apartment grew louder.

More desperate.

His mother’s voice returned.

”Kai...”

”Please...”

”I don’t want to be alone.”

His chest hurt.

God.

He wanted to answer.

He wanted to hear her one more time.

The older Kai spoke again.

Quietly.

Almost gently.

”Tell me something.”

Kai swallowed.

”What?”

”When you hear your mother’s voice...”

A pause.

”What do you feel?”

The question felt impossible.

The answer seemed obvious.

Then Kai understood.

”I...”

His breathing steadied.

”I miss her.”

”Good.”

The older Kai continued.

”When you hear Luna’s voice...”

Kai didn’t hesitate.

”I want to protect her.”

A quiet smile.

”There.”

”That’s the difference.”

Kai finally understood.

It could imitate loss.

It couldn’t imitate hope.

Luna wasn’t someone he mourned.

She wasn’t a memory buried in the past.

She was someone still alive.

Someone still reaching for him.

The creature had nothing to steal there.

No grief to wear.

No absence to become.

The apartment suddenly went silent.

Every borrowed voice disappeared.

Instantly.

The older Kai’s expression changed.

”...It figured it out.”

A deep sound echoed through Apartment 7C.

Not a roar.

Not a scream.

A heartbeat.

THUMP.

The entire building shook.

Then another.

THUMP.

The floor beneath the hidden doorway cracked.

Lines spread across the hardwood like shattered glass.

Kai’s eyes opened before he could stop himself.

The older Kai turned.

Too late.

”No!”

Kai saw it.

Only for a fraction of a second.

Beyond the dozens of pale hands...

Something moved.

Not a body.

Not a face.

An outline.

A shape too large for his mind to understand.

It wasn’t standing inside Apartment 7C.

Apartment 7C existed inside it.

His vision exploded into white.

Pain ripped through his skull.

Then the memories came.

The rooftop.

Pizza boxes.

The first stream.

Luna laughing.

Rain.

Blood.

The hidden hallway.

The black door.

The deal.

A hospital room.

Luna screaming his name.

The older Kai dragging someone through endless corridors.

Thousands of forgotten faces.

No.

Hundreds of thousands.

Each disappearing.

Each being erased.

Then—

One memory rose above all the others.

Kai.

Standing in front of the black door.

Alone.

Looking directly into the darkness.

And saying seven words.

”Then take my name instead of hers.”

The memory shattered.

Kai collapsed onto the floor.

He gasped for air, his entire body shaking violently.

The older Kai dropped beside him.

For the first time...

He looked truly afraid.

”...No.”

Kai looked up.

Tears streamed down his face.

His voice barely worked.

”I...”

A broken breath.

”I remember.”

The older Kai didn’t ask what.

He already knew.

Kai clenched his fists.

His heart felt like it was tearing itself apart.

The deal...

It had never been Luna’s idea.

She hadn’t offered herself first.

He had.

And she had only made her bargain...

To undo his.
