Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3149: Chapter 3150: Honey Badger

Just after leaving the Heart Space, Angel immediately logged into the Wilderness of Dreams.

Soon, Angel found Broye still reviewing scores at the mission center in the New City.

The last time Angel saw Broye, he had two stacks of music scores before him. One stack was very tall, representing the eliminated scores; the other had only a few sheets, considered usable scores.

But now, Broye had over ten stacks of music scores before him.

”These are the scores I’ve sorted.” Broye explained, ”I’ve separated them based on style, and the one on top is the one I currently recommend the most for that style.”

After explaining, Broye looked at Angel: ”Sir, did the results for ’Sbro’s Three Chapters’ come in from yesterday?”

Angel nodded: ”Yes, the position moved up by one.”

While Angel had been diligently recording Uriel’s ocular changes, he did not forget to capture the final seating information.

In the end, the Immortal Realm indicated that the final seat was the ”Empire Music Group’s twelfth seat”, an improvement from yesterday’s thirteenth seat.

”Although it wasn’t much of an improvement, during the process, I documented the expression changes of the master assigned that seat.” Angel looked at Broye: ”Next, I’ll need your assistance.”

As he spoke, Angel manipulated the Authority of Celestial Alternation, constructing an Illusion Shadow Box centered on a mirage.

”This Shadow Box records a sequence of illusions depicting the expression changes of the seat assignee while listening to ’Sbro’s Three Chapters’. The Shadow Box can exist for twelve hours. During its existence, it can be replayed indefinitely...”

This meant that Broye needed to, within twelve hours, analyze Uriel’s micro-expressions to determine which part of ’Sbro’s Three Chapters’ he preferred, thereby deciding on the ultimate score.

Broye nodded, taking the Illusion Shadow Box.

However, Broye did not immediately open the Shadow Box. Instead, he took out the Mother Tree Interlinker and quickly inputted some information.

Minutes later, a man in a suit and glasses arrived at the mission center.

If Stop wore a suit, he could be called a ’suit hooligan;’ but this man in glasses exuded an atmosphere of ’cultured scoundrel.’

”Sir, he is another student of the Mentor...” Broye introduced.

Broye paused and looked at the cultured gentleman, who immediately understood, stepped forward, and saluted: ”Sir Pat, my name is Guy.”

His voice was refined, and his gaze was highly restrained.

Angel nodded to Guy, considering he was also a student of Evanassa, likely proficient in music as well.

Indeed, based on Broye’s introduction, before becoming Transcendent, Guy was the piano mentor to the Duchess’s daughter from the Principality of Yaly, also serving as a psychological counselor.

Guy had an extremely high talent for music, but he was even more skilled in analyzing the human mind.

From humble beginnings, he had reached the residence of the Prime Minister by mastering the art of observation.

While Broye could analyze micro-expressions, having Guy’s assistance would certainly make the analysis more reliable.

Angel naturally would not refuse; as long as the appropriate choice could be found, Angel would only be pleased even if Broye gathered an entire micro-expression analysis team.

Broye had evidently already communicated with Guy, and they didn’t wait long before entering the ”viewing” state.

After watching it once, they mostly reached a consensus: Uriel preferred the last Chapter of ’Sbro’s Three Chapters.’

However, reaching a consensus didn’t mean they could immediately make a choice.

In front of them were precisely twenty scores of the same type, and they had to select the most suitable one from among them.

They had their own opinions about the choice, and given the intensity of their debate, it was unlikely they would reach an answer quickly.

They often hoped Angel could offer his opinion, but Angel entirely detached himself, giving them complete decision-making power.

Eventually, Angel even went offline, planning to return later.

...

In fact, Angel didn’t mind discussing with them. The reason he hurried offline was that when he left the Heart Space earlier, he sensed more auras outside the quiet room.

One was Olao’s presence, while the other two were relatively unfamiliar.

It seemed that Olao had brought Shariel back.

But aside from Shariel, there should be another person.

Angel didn’t know exactly who; he had been busy delivering the micro-expression illusions to Broye at the time.

Now going offline, Angel carefully sensed and confirmed that the two additional people outside were a man and a woman.

In terms of energy level, both were top-tier apprentices, one step away from becoming an Official Wizard.

The woman was undoubtedly Shariel; as for the man, Angel had never met him before but inexplicably found him somewhat familiar.

Angel didn’t think much of it; since everyone was here, he could simply ask any questions directly.

With this in mind, Angel pushed open the door and went out.

But just as Angel opened the door, a bluish-green shadow quickly darted into the deep quiet room. Angel instinctively used the Hand of Magic to catch it.

A familiar smooth rod.

Looking down, the Wood Spirit had turned into a small wooden stick, trembling in his palm.

Angel glanced at the three people outside, staring blankly, then looked down at the Wood Spirit... understood, its phobia was acting up.

Fortunately, the Wood Spirit, though timid, didn’t turn invisible. Otherwise, even Angel might not have been able to find it.

Angel sighed helplessly, comforted the Wood Spirit, then summoned Dangross and Speedy, directing them into the deep quiet room to continue watching ’Anomalous Fire Alchemist.’

With the door as a barrier, the Wood Spirit felt slightly better. As for Dangross and Speedy, there was really no noticeable difference; it was just a change of location in which to follow their show.

After closing the door, Angel came out and nodded to Shariel and the unknown male: ”Apologies for the long wait.”

Shariel immediately shook her head: ”No, no... I mean, it’s no problem... we, we didn’t...”

Shariel’s appearance looked no different from when Portia used illusions to simulate her before: petite, chubby, very quiet, with faint freckles and a head full of abundant sea buckthorn fruits.

Even her goose yellow Wizard Robe was exactly the same.

The only thing Angel hadn’t expected was that Shariel seemed quite shy; when talking, her cheeks blushed, and she stammered a bit.

Angel smiled, indicating to Shariel not to rush, and gestured to the sofa beside them, inviting them to sit and talk.

Once Shariel and another man were seated, Angel came over to Olao and sat down.

Shariel seemed a bit calmer now, and slightly embarrassed, she said, ”I’m an idol to Lord, so it’s a bit...”

Before Shariel could finish, Olao suddenly coughed.

Shariel was taken aback and suddenly realized, ”No, no... what I mean is, I’m not Lord’s idol... no, I mean, Lord is my idol!”

Angel smiled, calmly saying, ”I understand what you mean. It’s my honor to be Miss Shariel’s idol.”

Shariel lowered her head, her cheeks redder than before.

Angel couldn’t even tell if she was blushing from embarrassment or from meeting her so-called ”idol.”

”I lost my composure,” Shariel whispered softly, burying her head even lower.

Angel chuckled, choosing not to continue talking to Shariel. He knew that Shariel might be measuring the villa with her toes at this moment, so it would be better not to disturb her.

He then shifted his gaze to the man beside Shariel. This person wasn’t mentioned in Portia’s introduction, but since he came with Shariel, he was likely associated with Portia?

Moreover, Angel had always felt a familiar scent on this man...

A literal scent, a faint fragrance, enticing and captivating.

Typically, this description suits a beautiful woman better, but Angel was clearly aware he wasn’t referring to physical beauty, but another kind of beauty.

Besides, the man wasn’t good-looking, not even close to societal aesthetics.

He was round as a ball and short as a bamboo shoot, even standing next to Shariel, he could only reach her shoulder, probably not even 160 cm tall.

But his girth was larger than three Shariels combined.

His limbs were poorly developed in a ”slender” manner.

If he replaced his white robe with a pink one, Angel might even mistake him for Duduli.

Perhaps Angel’s gaze was too direct, making the man uncomfortable. He twisted his waist, buzzing as he spoke, ”Greetings Lord Pat, this... should be my second time meeting the Lord.”

”Second time?” Angel was taken aback, they had met before?

Angel didn’t doubt the man’s words because he indeed felt a familiar scent from the other, but perhaps the scent was too elusive for him to recall it momentarily.

But since the other claimed it was the second time meeting him, they probably had met? Angel’s Memory Casket quickly opened and closed, entering the man’s appearance into the ”Server,” but it didn’t retrieve any information.

At least from Angel’s perspective, he hadn’t met the other before.

Or perhaps, the person Angel met was in a different form?

While Angel was pondering, the man spoke again, ”It’s normal for Lord not to remember me; I actually saw the Lord secretly through a peephole, the Lord hasn’t seen me.”

”Peephole?” Angel’s eyebrows furrowed, from what he said, had he been spying on him?

Is this something he could say?

Not only did Angel furrow his brows, but the peeping Shariel also couldn’t help but reach out and pinch the man’s leg: ”I told you not to talk nonsense, not to talk nonsense, why can’t you keep your mouth shut?”

The stout man puckered his lips in grievance, ”I wasn’t talking nonsense, I was indeed secretly watching Lord Pat through a peephole at the time, and he wasn’t even wearing clothes...”

”Ah!!!” Shariel quickly stood up, reaching out to cover the stout man’s mouth with her hand: ”Shut up, such words shouldn’t be said out loud!”

When Shariel covered the stout man’s mouth, Olao turned his head in curiosity to glance at Angel. Although Olao didn’t say anything and his eyes were clear, Angel inexplicably read a kind of ”So you’re this kind of person” illusion.

The stout man’s face turned red from holding back, and under Shariel’s intimidating gaze, he didn’t make another sound.

Shariel then turned her red face towards Angel, ”Lord, Tonga is talking nonsense, please don’t blame him...”

”You don’t seem to stutter much now when speaking?” Angel spoke softly.

Shariel: ”Ah?” Is stuttering the concern now?

Angel smiled gently, saying, ”It’s okay, what he said is probably true... is your name Tonga?”

The stout man glanced at Shariel, and under Shariel’s fierce gaze, he replied in a low voice, ”Yes, my name is Tonga, but I prefer others calling me Honey Badger.”

Honey Badger.

Upon hearing this nickname, Angel further confirmed his thoughts.

He was naked in front of outsiders only once.

Back then, he hadn’t embarked on the wizard’s path, merely a regular person, unexpectedly stepping into Barbie Restaurant, where he also met his mentor, Sanders.

A scratch mark left by the Yan Realm on his back caught Sanders’s attention, prompting Sanders to lift his shirt to check.

That was the situation at the time.

And Tonga most likely saw him at that moment, and he should be an employee of Barbie Restaurant.

Because Angel remembered very clearly, Greya gave her employees typical nicknames... like Sticky Bird, Soup Weasel, and Glued Mongoose.

Honey Badger, this nickname perfectly fits the standard of Barbie Restaurant employees.

Moreover, he witnessed that scene, and Tonga had an alluring and familiar scent to Angel, which confirmed Tonga’s identity as one of the employees scattered from Barbie Restaurant.

”You’re a Gourmet Sorcerer from Barbie Restaurant.” Angel wasn’t asking but stating with certainty.

Honey Badger hesitated, then nodded: ”Yes, I am indeed a Gourmet Sorcerer and a former employee of Barbie Restaurant. My job was to concoct edible oils.”

Angel further inquired about Honey Badger’s experiences.

According to Honey Badger, when Barbie Restaurant encountered misfortune, it was Portia who saved him.

Now Angel somewhat understood why Portia laughed as she said before, ”When Shariel comes around, she might bring you a surprise.”

The so-called surprise now likely has two possibilities.

Firstly, Portia knows Angel and Greya have a good relationship, and Greya openly declared looking for scattered employees, so by sending Honey Badger directly to Angel, she’s giving Angel a small favor.

Secondly, Portia already knew about Angel’s situation from Honey Badger and heard about Angel’s public ”naked” incident, so given her love for amusement, sending Honey Badger over might be to make Angel relive that moment and die of embarrassment.

He didn’t know which specific surprise Portia referred to, or perhaps... both?
