Chapter 3131: Chapter 3132: Methods to Broaden Knowledge and Experience

However, there’s no immediate need to enhance power, but in terms of knowledge, it still needs to be expanded.

Olao himself admits this.

After being disconnected for thousands of years, he knows nothing about the outside world and urgently needs to broaden his horizons.

But when Angel further asked Olao how he plans to expand his knowledge, Olao’s answer was somewhat unexpected...

”I can possess various mirrors and observe other people’s lives.” After saying this, Olao noticed Angel’s odd expression and quickly added, ”I’m not peeping, I’m just learning.”

”... That’s no different from peeping.”

Olao opened his mouth but eventually didn’t refute, instead muttering, ”I’m just talking about it; I haven’t actually implemented it yet.”

The reason why Olao mentioned observing other people’s lives through mirrors is mainly because he often saw Adanis doing this in the Qingkong Poetry Room.

So, when considering how to broaden his horizons, the first thing that came to mind was using the mirror to observe life.

However, as he said, even though he has the intention to do so, he hasn’t actually done it yet.

Since his awakening, he’s spent these days taking care of ”children” and watching the Shadow Box, having no time for other irrelevant matters.

”I don’t oppose you using your abilities to ’learn,’ but your method is risky.”

As Angel spoke, he pointed to a mirror deep in the quiet room: ”Why I say it’s risky... why not try and possess this mirror.”

Olao had actually noticed this half-length mirror full of mysterious aura the moment he entered the quiet room.

As Augustine’s creation, he had seen many mysterious objects, so he recognized at a glance that this barely reached the mysterious level of a mirror. In today’s terms, it’s a half-step mystic.

Olao wasn’t too surprised by this mirror. However, he was a bit worried about possessing it.

”Sir, are you trying to tell me that mirrors can be distinguished, and if possessing a mirror with mysterious power, one might encounter misfortune?”

Angel shook his head at Olao’s presumptive answer: ”I’m not stupid, and you aren’t without judgment; under normal circumstances, if you encounter a mirror with mysterious aura, you definitely wouldn’t possess it... That’s not what I meant.”

”Forget it, it’s okay if you don’t possess it. I’ll take you inside to see for yourself.”

As Angel spoke, he went to the Indestructible Heart Mirror, merged half of his body into the mirror, leaving only his head, and gestured for Olao to follow.

Olao hesitated for a moment but eventually followed.

Soon, Olao entered the buffer zone inside the Indestructible Heart Mirror.

When he reached the buffer zone, Olao first marveled at the stability of the space, such a solid space was not much different from the mirror space of his main body.

While marveling, under Angel’s guidance, Olao saw a silver-haired girl resting with her eyes closed on an illusionary sofa.

Upon seeing the silver-haired girl, Olao’s entire body trembled, and he even couldn’t help but step back a few steps.

”La... Laplace?!” Olao was somewhat incredulous. How could Laplace be here?

Could it be that Angel had imprisoned Laplace here?

”Stop overthinking it, she’s just visiting,” Angel said irritably. Olao’s gaze was too clear, to the extent that what he was thinking was obvious.

Pausing for a moment, Angel continued, ”Now you understand why I said possession is risky, right? Who knows if there might be some powerful life form inside the mirror you possess?”

Olao swallowed hard and nodded knowingly.

Even though he felt this example was more of an isolated case and rare to encounter in a thousand years, the fact that Angel didn’t prepare in advance nor notify Laplace and just brought him to see such a spectacle was quite shocking to Olao.

”Possession carries risks, not just within the mirror’s space but outside as well. Imagine if you possessed a mirror belonging to a strong individual like the Black Earl, and he discovered you. Would you still have a path to live?”

”Moreover, you wouldn’t even have a chance to argue, as you were in the wrong from the start by possessing and peeping. You have no justification.”

Olao obediently nodded, ”I understand now.”

Angel wasn’t entirely prohibiting Olao from possessing other mirrors... it depended on what Olao’s intentions were.

If it’s just to increase knowledge, taking a walk outside should suffice. There are clearly better and safer ways, so why choose something strenuous and unrewarding?

Angel went to a nearby sofa, motioning for Olao to sit down as well.

Olao glanced over at Laplace a short distance away but didn’t move. He simply looked at Angel with admiration for sitting so brazenly beside Laplace.

But speaking of which, why has Laplace been sleeping? Is she really just a guest, or has Angel trapped her here?

Olao initially believed the ”guest” narrative, but seeing Laplace sleep endlessly made him somewhat skeptical. This is the inner part of a mysterious mirror; could Angel be using the mirror’s mysterious traits to restrain Laplace?

If that’s the case, then this mysterious mirror is somewhat terrifying.

Seeing Olao glancing back and forth between Laplace and himself, Angel immediately understood he was overthinking again: ”Although she looks like she’s sleeping, she’s actually traveling outside her body, doing other significant things.”

As for what significant things... perhaps fishing.

”For the specifics, you can ask her directly when she wakes up.”

Olao quickly waved his hands, for now, he had only recovered less than a hundredth of himself and didn’t dare to face Laplace directly. Moreover, even if he had restored his full strength, he wouldn’t dare provoke this Heavenly Destiny Transcendent of the Daylight Mirror Domain.

Angel didn’t continue discussing Laplace’s matters; even though she couldn’t hear at the moment, with Laplace’s abilities, tracking what happened in the buffer zone after logging off wouldn’t be difficult.

Angel looked at Olao and continued, ”There are many ways to broaden your knowledge. If you were still trapped in the Qingkong Poetry Room, I wouldn’t say anything about you using mirrors to observe others. But now that you’ve freed yourself from the shackles, you have many methods to increase knowledge; choosing a risky method in such a situation is clearly inadvisable.”

Olao pondered for a moment and cautiously asked, ”Then using the Shadow Box to expand my knowledge should be permissible, right?”

”Huh?” Angel was momentarily stunned, not immediately grasping Olao’s meaning.

Olao: ”The ’Anomalous Fire Alchemist’ is quite good, I find it interesting because it allows me to understand contemporary stories and even see various cultural and geographic features...”

Angel: ”... The stories are made up.”

Olao: ”I know, such stories are typically fictional, but there must be prototypes, right? And certainly, the cultural and geographic aspects aren’t fabricated, are they?”

Angel wanted to say ’there are no prototypes,’ but after thinking for a moment, he didn’t voice it.

As for the various cultural and geographic features appearing in the Shadow Box, they are indeed not fabricated.

If Olao wants to understand the era through the background details in the Shadow Box, it is indeed possible... but it is quite cumbersome. Wouldn’t walking around town, reading books be quicker?

Although Angel was complaining internally, he had to admit that using the Shadow Box to understand the present was indeed a completely risk-free method. If Olao insisted, he had nothing to say.

After that, Angel discussed this issue with Olao, and eventually, Angel was persuaded by Olao.

Rather than rigidly observing the world, Olao seemed to prefer using the method of the Shadow Box to view the world.

Perhaps... being stuck in the Qingkong Poetry Room for too long, the unfolding of a joyful drama like ”Anomalous Fire Alchemist” made him unable to extricate himself?

Angel thought, teaching through entertainment was not a bad thing. Moreover, making a Shadow Box was not troublesome, and he could customize some Shadow Boxes for Olao as targeted extra tutoring.

With this in mind, Angel began to think about which healing stories to choose as teaching materials?

...

Angel chose to talk with Olao, not just to hear Olao’s thoughts, but he also hoped that Olao could further understand him.

As partners on a future path, mutual understanding is very important.

However, mutual understanding requires a process, and Angel did not plan to reveal everything at once today.

Today, he only planned for Olao to understand one thing.

——Indestructible Heart Mirror.

Firstly, the Indestructible Heart Mirror was something he recently refined; although it cannot prove his alchemy ability, it could at least give Olao some confidence.

After all, their common goal was to refine a Mysterious Object.

With this Half-step Mystic Object as a base, Olao could feel a bit more assured.

Secondly, the Indestructible Heart Mirror connects to the Daylight Mirror Domain, and in the Daylight Mirror Domain, Angel needs a force to help share the burden.

Ultimately, Angel is a human; traversing the Mirror Domain is definitely not as convenient as the creatures within the mirror. Although Olao is not a creature of the mirror, he carries traits of mirror creatures and can mobilize Aggregation Energy, hence in the Mirror Domain, Olao can provide considerable assistance.

Moreover, Olao can expand his knowledge by interacting with other mirror creatures.

Thirdly, Olao can temporarily take his place, overseeing the Heart Space.

The Heart Space now floats on the Sea of Void Mirror, and through the Physical Collector, it can retrieve considerable benefits from the Sea of Void Mirror.

This is a very stable source of benefits.

Unfortunately, because no one is steering it, this source of benefits has been left unused.

Angel’s original plan was to let the Star Servant in the Pot take control, but unfortunately, the Star Servant is still in a period of confusion and cannot take the helm. Therefore, Angel plans to train Olao, at least letting him temporarily take on the steering role until the Star Servant can be sufficiently utilized.

He does not need Olao to always be in charge, just occasionally going in to check would be enough.

In summary, introducing the Indestructible Heart Mirror to Olao, in Angel’s view, benefits both sides and is the first step in their mutual understanding.

It didn’t take long for Angel to explain the general situation of the Indestructible Heart Mirror.

For instance, the location of refining was right in the Qingkong Poetry Room. And the time of refining was during Olao’s slumber.

Furthermore, the ability of the Indestructible Heart Mirror is absolute sturdiness, and it contains an extremely sturdy internal mirror space...

After listening to Angel’s introduction, Olao gained a preliminary understanding of the Indestructible Heart Mirror.

Although in Olao’s view, the ability of the Indestructible Heart Mirror seems a bit trivial, even if it has a spacious internal mirror space, its value is not considered high... perhaps for the middle and lower-level creatures living in the Mirror Domain, such a stable space is good, but for Olao, who has long lived in reality, just listening to Angel’s description, he could not see what’s special about the Heart Space.

However, even if the effect attached to the Indestructible Heart Mirror is not considered ”strong,” Olao still felt shocked.

Previously, he thought the Indestructible Heart Mirror was something Angel obtained elsewhere, so he was not too surprised. But now Angel said, he refined it himself, and it was not long ago.

This really shocked Olao.

One must know, when Naraku City fell, before he fell asleep, Augustine had not refined any items with mysterious effects.

At that time, Augustine had already reached a realm comparable to a Legend.

He even snatched Margaret Gold from the Infinite Road under the watchful eyes of a large number of Legendary Wizards, and later used Margaret Gold to refine the original bodies of Olao and Adigu.

According to Augustine himself, he took Adigu to the Origin World, and it took a long time to make Adigu emerge with mysterious color.

Yet now, Angel was just a Level 1 Wizard, using very ordinary materials, and had touched upon the mysterious level.

How could Olao not be shocked? Not astonished?

Olao now somewhat understood why Augustine ultimately chose to entrust him to Angel and explicitly said that only Angel could help him catch up or even surpass Adigu.

Because his talent simply cannot be described as human! It’s monstrous!

More like the protagonist than the protagonist of ”Anomalous Fire Alchemist”!

...

What Olao didn’t know was that in refining the Indestructible Heart Mirror, the greatest credit should go to the Mad Hat’s Coronation.

However, Angel did not mention the Mad Hat’s Coronation.

It wasn’t intentionally concealed, purely that their level of trust was not enough yet.

One must know, the matter of Angel obtaining the ”Mad Hat’s Coronation” is currently known only to Sanders; no one else is aware.

In fact, even Sanders did not know that the Mad Hat’s Coronation in Angel’s hands frequently manifested ”Black Hat” Coronation.

He, like Feng, thought more of it was just ”White Hat” Coronation.

And although items coronated with a White Hat can achieve good results, compared to a ”Black Hat” Coronation, it’s an entirely different quality.

One could say, as different as heaven and earth.

Because the frequent occurrence of ”Black Hat” is too peculiar, Angel did not fully tell even Sanders; much less someone he had only recently met, like Olao.

Of course, when their level of mutual trust increases in the future, Angel does not mind telling Olao about the Mad Hat.

It’s just that right now, it’s not the right time.
