Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3109: Chapter 3110: Wool-Gathering

Angel wasn’t always in Tomorrow Town; he had other things to attend to. However, he didn’t neglect Miumiu and instead used the Ability Tree to lock onto the sandbox of Tomorrow Town.

If there’s an anomaly in the sandbox, it certainly means Miumiu has made a new breakthrough, so watching the sandbox can reveal Miumiu’s progress.

After doing all this, Angel went offline and returned to reality, then logged into the Wilderness of Dreams.

During the login process, Angel still had thoughts about the situation of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

However, what he pondered wasn’t about Tomorrow Town, but another issue: Can the Crystal Origin of Dreams connect with the Wilderness of Dreams?

Although going from the Crystal Origin of Dreams to the Wilderness of Dreams isn’t troublesome, if these two special Yan realms can connect, it would certainly be more convenient.

Moreover, they each represent a world. The Wilderness of Dreams corresponds to the Southern Domain Wizard World, and the Crystal Origin of Dreams corresponds to the Daylight Mirror Domain. If there’s a way to connect, then wouldn’t the life forms of the Reality Realm and the Mirror Realm achieve direct contact?

However, Angel was just contemplating. It seemed to him that these two worlds are floating in the dark void outside the Dream Realm, in this boundaryless void; who knows their exact locations? Without coordinates, how could they be connected?

Imaginations arise freely and dissipate with a single thought.

When Angel entered the Wilderness of Dreams, unrelated thoughts were thoroughly cast aside.

...

He logged into the Wilderness of Dreams again because he suddenly remembered something.

Previously, the Observer had requested Angel to allow a friend of his to log into the Wilderness of Dreams.

Back then, Angel agreed without hesitation. Since the Tea Party in the near future would reveal the Wilderness of Dreams, there was no need for secrecy. Plus, he had agreed to the Observer, so agreeing to another Wizard from the Origin World wouldn’t hurt.

However, while building a library for new residents in Rabbit Town, an idea suddenly sprouted.

According to the Observer, his friend named Camilleon came from an organization within the Origin World—a Supernova organization—Nuke Academy.

Nuke Academy is renowned for research, and nine out of ten Wizards emerging from there are from the Academy Faction.

Camilleon is an Academy Faction Wizard and a famed professor within Nuke Academy.

Being a professor... he should enjoy lecturing, right? He wouldn’t mind guiding the juniors, would he?

Yes, Angel set his sights on Camilleon.

This is a Legendary Wizard, and an Academy Faction Legendary Wizard, releasing even a bit of non-essential knowledge to them would be like a drought-ending rain.

The reason Angel didn’t consider this initially was that he equated the Observer with Camilleon.

The Observer is bound by regulations and unable to directly assist people from the Southern Domain, especially with knowledge, as it is regulated by the Orderly Guild and cannot be easily disclosed.

Angel knew of this regulation, so when the Observer entered the Wilderness of Dreams, he didn’t inform others.

Later, upon hearing that Camilleon also came from the Origin World, Angel subconsciously assumed he was also an Observer, unable to disclose secrets.

But when Angel was at the Crystal Origin of Dreams and carefully recalled the Observer’s words, he realized the Observer never mentioned Camilleon working for the Orderly Guild.

Furthermore, the Observer had said that upon becoming an Observer, even his name became a secret.

Camilleon has a name, and the Observer did not keep it secret, mentioning it directly, which alone indicates Camilleon wasn’t sent by the Orderly Guild.

Since Camilleon isn’t an Observer, he doesn’t need to adhere to the principle of knowledge secrecy, meaning Angel can fully ”shear the sheep” from Camilleon!

Although Angel didn’t notice this at first, it’s not too late now.

Because the Observer hasn’t gone offline yet, meaning Camilleon hasn’t logged in.

Angel logged in from the fishing boat in the water region, although he was alone on the boat.

Angel swiftly connected with the Observer through the tree network.

He first contacted the Observer because he didn’t know Camilleon’s character; whether he could ”shear the sheep,” or if it would cause Camilleon to resent him... he didn’t know.

But the Observer, being Camilleon’s friend, surely understands.

To avoid unnecessary repercussions, Angel plans to seek the Observer’s confirmation.

Of course, this would expose Angel’s intent to ”shear the sheep,” but Angel isn’t worried the Observer will get angry... after all, he hasn’t truly started ”shearing the sheep,” it’s just a thought; moreover, the Observer still has favors to ask of Angel, so it’s unlikely he’ll be angered by Angel’s inquiry.

As expected by Angel, the Observer wasn’t angry upon receiving Angel’s message; instead, he seriously gave Angel advice.

”You agreeing to let him log in is already a favor. Him giving some knowledge is only right.”

”Plus, he’s fond of being a mentor, enjoys boasting, chatting with him to learn some secrets and knowledge is normal, not considered secrecy.”

”But, I have a personal suggestion.”

”You best not personally contact him; he speaks without restraint. If he mentions high-level knowledge, immersing yourself in it won’t benefit you.”

High-level knowledge doesn’t benefit an apprentice like Angel who is just entering the field; it might lead him astray.

Of course, Angel could argue, ”I’m just listening, won’t get immersed,” but that’s a fallacy. High-level knowledge is like poison; the more ignorant one is, the easier to indulge.

The Observer has insight into Angel’s situation from the side; he’s still in the process of solidifying himself.

If Angel had solidified for a century, the Observer might agree to his contacting Camilleon, but Angel hasn’t spent even ten years in the Wizard World, so his foundation is too weak and easily misled by high-level knowledge.

The Observer doesn’t wish for Angel, a promising seedling, to be ruined by the unrestrained Camilleon.

This is why the Observer advises Angel not to personally contact Camilleon.

Angel: ”Then who should I get to contact Mr. Camilleon?” Or rather, who should be tasked to ”shear the sheep”?

The Observer, being long familiar with the Barbarian Cave, naturally understands it well, and after thinking, he says: ”My suggestion is to find someone who can talk to him...”

In the Observer’s view, of those in the Barbarian Cave, the most capable of conversing with Camilleon, is undoubtedly one of the three Ancestral Spirits—the Book Elder.

Camilleon’s knowledge reserve might not even surpass the Book Elder’s, so if Camilleon meets the Book Elder, the conversation would be lively.

However, the Observer also knows that the Book Elder hardly ever comes out to meet people, not even those inside the Barbarian Cave, let alone meeting with Camilleon.

As for the other two of the three Ancestral Spirits, Mirror Lady and Tree Spirit, although they’re possible, they’re definitely not as good as the Book Elder.

And Ironclad Granny, Reinmut... other wizards are ranked similarly to Mirror Lady and Tree Spirit.

Angel: ”Then what about my mentor, Sanders?”

Observer: ”Instead of getting Sanders to talk to him, it’s better to let Wallace chat with him.”

Angel: ”...” If Wallace hears this, he might laugh at Sanders...

Observer: ”The reason is simple, Camilleon’s school is known as the School of Everything, in other words, he’s interested in both living and dead things, but Sanders specializes in illusion technique. To Camilleon, that’s ’fake’ and they definitely won’t get along.”

Angel silently thought: ...If put that way, the Wilderness of Dreams can also be considered ’fake.’

The Observer naturally didn’t know Angel’s inner thoughts, however, if he had heard Angel’s thoughts, he probably wouldn’t have cared.

Illusion Dream Power, Power of the Mind, similar powers are researched by the ’Knowledge Theory Faction’ at Nuke Academy. Although the School of Everything has some friction with the Knowledge Theory Faction, as a scholar, Camilleon would not undervalue the other’s work due to some disagreements. He would still distinguish between high-end and low-end scholarship within the Knowledge Theory Faction.

If the Wilderness of Dreams is a derivative of ’Dream Power,’ it’s definitely high-end academia. Even if Camilleon doesn’t understand it, he would still regard it with respect.

”From what I know about Camilleon, the people from your Barbarian Cave who would most get along with him are Ironclad Granny, Tree Spirit, and Evanasa. Besides these three, Wallace could barely be considered as well.”

Needless to say about Ironclad Granny and Tree Spirit, they are knowledgeable, especially from the perspective of the School of Everything; Ironclad Granny’s transformation of iron armor, and Tree Spirit as a plant spirit representative, easily arouse Camilleon’s interest.

As for Wallace, although his strength is a bit low, he is the apparent Academy Faction representative of the Barbarian Cave, so he barely suffices.

Regarding the ’Echo of Sound’ Evanasa... she has been stationed in the City of Truth for years and has never logged into the Wilderness of Dreams, so she’s deferred for now.

Angel: ”I understand.”

Ironclad Granny and Tree Spirit are currently online, so they can be contacted directly; they should be willing to have a chat with Camilleon, right? After all, Camilleon is a Legendary Wizard, and gaining some leverage from him would definitely benefit the Barbarian Cave.

Wallace can also be arranged to go, even if he can’t have a full meal, he can at least sip some soup.

Thinking this, Angel began contacting these three.

No doubt, after hearing Angel’s description, Ironclad Granny, Tree Spirit, and Wallace all agreed to the leverage plan. Although the Barbarian Cave also has knowledge above legend, it’s too general, and since the Origin World gathers all talents from the Wizards’ Realm, the knowledge update speed is extremely fast, so the legendary knowledge they know is centuries old, making it necessary to update their understanding.

However, compared to the leverage plan, they are actually more curious about how Angel met this Legendary Wizard named Camilleon.

In response, Angel did not hide it and informed them of the Observer’s existence.

After all, Tree Spirit and Ironclad Granny knew of the Observer from the ”Culori Chronicles” long ago.

However, Angel only mentioned the ”Observer” and entering the Wilderness of Dreams, without specifying the Observer’s detailed identity or current location.

This was also at the Observer’s request.

Although they were very curious about how Angel got involved with the Observer, they also understood that knowing was sufficient, and there was no need to dig deeper, especially concerning matters related to Legendary Wizards, this point is particularly important.

Therefore, they did not pursue further on this topic, only inquiring about Camilleon’s initial login location, before each went their way to ”prepare.”

After ending the group chat with Ironclad Granny and others, Angel received a message from the Observer again.

”I’m preparing to go offline, and I’ll hand over the log-in device to Camilleon afterward.”

”By the way, I heard that recently a lot of magical creatures have emerged in the Wilderness of Dreams. As a scholar of the School of Everything, I think Camilleon would be interested in these magical creatures.”

”If you can find someone who studies these magical creatures, I believe Camilleon would be willing to share more knowledge.”

The Observer actually wanted to say ”those who create these magical creatures,” but thought better of it, suspecting that these creatures might be man-made, though there’s no proof.

Moreover, the Observer was concerned Angel would misunderstand, thinking he was prying into the secrets of the Wilderness of Dreams, so he chose his words carefully.

Besides, could anyone really create these magical creatures? The Observer was also a bit skeptical, wondering if they might be creatures that naturally existed in this world, similar to Dream Plant Fairies?

With these thoughts in mind, the Observer went offline.

Meanwhile, Angel stared at the message from the Observer, lost in thought.

The magical creatures mentioned by the Observer should be the various life forms born from the Authority of the Membrane of Rhythm.

However, the holder of the Authority of the Membrane of Rhythm is Sumishe, but Sumishe is rather lacking when it comes to creating life, Angel didn’t think this cheap senior brother could have much in common with Camilleon.

On the other hand, Greya is truly the Creator of many magical creatures today.

The person indicated in the Observer’s words should be Greya... Although Greya isn’t a member of the Barbarian Cave, given Angel’s relationship with Greya, helping her secure a leverage opportunity is definitely worthwhile.

With this in mind, Angel picked up the Tree Group and sent a message to Greya.

Once everything was arranged, Angel logged off once, logging back in to find himself at the Treehouse Bar in Originheart City.

At the top floor of the Treehouse Bar, Angel found a spot by the window and sat down.

Ordering a cup of fruit milk tea—recently popular in Originheart City and invented by Jon—Angel leisurely enjoyed the deliciousness while watching the alley next to the Marine Theater.

He had set Camilleon’s login point in this alley.

Initially, Angel planned to place Camilleon in the New City, but the Observer suggested letting Camilleon come to Originheart City first, traveling to New City by airship.

This way Camilleon could see the vastness of the Wilderness of Dreams with his own eyes.

Moreover, the airship is an enclosed space, perfect for communication.

During the flight from Originheart City to New City is an excellent time for the leverage plan.

Because of this, Angel agreed with the Observer’s suggestion, changing Camilleon’s birthplace to Originheart City.

Not long after, Angel saw a tall figure appear out of thin air in the alley next to the Marine Theater.

Camilleon, logged in.
