Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3120: Chapter 3121: The Marvels of Dreamseeing

After returning from the Heart Space to reality, Angel first took a trip to the Wilderness of Dreams. He was preparing to issue a task for searching music scores at the Task Hall of the New City.

The task requirement was: Over the past millennium, select six music scores that are rare, unique, and soul-stirring.

The reward for the task was one hundred Magic Crystals, and there could be more if exceptionally outstanding scores were found.

Angel wouldn’t need to pay these Magic Crystal rewards. According to his authority, he receives an annual subsidy from the Barbarian Cave, and now his authority is higher than Sanders, equal to the three Ancestral Spirits, thus the subsidy is naturally more substantial. Therefore, the rewards for issuing tasks would be reimbursed by the Barbarian Cave.

However, because this task is limited and requires an understanding of contemporary music scores in the Southern Domain, it requires an appraiser to assess the value.

Angel definitely couldn’t take on this role because, firstly, he didn’t have much time, and secondly, his understanding of music scores was limited and his appraisal ability was not top-tier, so he could only seek help from others.

Angel didn’t know anyone of this type, so he entrusted the task to Lianna to help find an appraiser.

It wasn’t long before Lianna found an appraiser, who was said to be the student of a prominent figure, even a genius apprentice.

Angel didn’t delve into who exactly this person was. He just confirmed what reward the other party wanted and then skipped the details.

After issuing the task, Angel went to meet Jon, presenting the scene where Luigi successfully passed Main Quest 1 through an Illusion; he also discussed Luigi’s predicament in Main Quest 3.

Jon regarded Luigi as a younger generation and, upon learning of his predicament, showed concern and clearly expressed willingness to help organize some Earth music scores suitable for this realm.

After bidding farewell to Jon, Angel initially planned to go offline. However, at this moment, his tree group received a communication from the Tree Spirit.

The message ”Are you there?” made Angel feel quite troubled.

They’re seasoned internet surfers, how come they haven’t learned to go straight to the point when finding someone? Plus, his avatar was brightly lit, indicating he was online. Knowing he’s online and still sending ”Are you there?”—this must be deliberate!

Angel didn’t respond immediately but instead used God’s View to glance at the current situation of the Tree Spirit.

He was still on the airship to New City.

Beside him, Ironclad Granny and Wallace were having a lively chat with Camilleon, while only the Tree Spirit appeared extremely bored, as if dozing off.

Seeing this scene, Angel deeply suspected the Tree Spirit was bored and came to find him for some fun, seeing he was online.

Angel didn’t want to be treated as entertainment, but considering the communicator being Tree Spirit, he pondered for a moment and sent back a response: an emoticon of a puzzled, head-tilting soybean person.

Tree Spirit: ”I just saw in the group that Lianna mentioned you posted a task at the Task Hall, about searching for harp music scores?”

Looking at Tree Spirit’s question, Angel reconfirmed that he was indeed bored.

This question was just a way to make small talk with no real purpose.

Most likely, he was beside Camilleon now and couldn’t easily leave, but also had no topic to discuss, so he resorted to bothering others.

And his previous target, most likely, was Lianna.

Angel: ”Yes.”

”Are you searching for the scores for your Enlightenment Mentor?”

Angel thought for a moment: ”Kind of, but not entirely.”

Tree Spirit: ”???”

Anyway, since there wasn’t anything pressing at the moment, Angel simply narrated Luigi’s situation. However, he didn’t mention Luigi being from the Mirror Domain, nor did he reveal anything about the Fairyland Duplication. He merely described Luigi as one of Jon’s students.

He explained that Jon’s student was undergoing an audition for a seat in the national music ensemble; his skills were impeccable, but the members of the national ensemble didn’t lack skills either, so he hoped to elevate his seat audition ranking by performing rare and unique piano pieces to ideally enter the top three seats of the ensemble.

After listening, Tree Spirit did not suspect anything, as if it truly were Jon’s student, then this person was also closely related to Angel, and Angel agreeing to help find music scores to elevate their national honor seemed quite natural.

Tree Spirit didn’t pursue further, as the matter mostly sounded like mortal affairs and wasn’t worthwhile to focus on, even for idle small talk.

Next, Tree Spirit continued chatting with Angel about various topics, which were largely forced topics out of boredom.

Angel soon lost interest after listening for a while.

Tree Spirit sensed Angel’s emotional change from the conversation, mentioned one last thing, and wrapped up.

And this final thing differed from the previous trivial topics—it was indeed relevant to Angel.

Previously, Wizard Kanter had asked Angel to assist Qi Li with a favor. Angel had already agreed, but Qi Li offended the entire Fragrance Wizard circle, so Angel’s influence might not suffice, ideally, a Fragrance Master should intervene.

The person Angel targeted was none other than the Alchemy Master from the Research and Development Institute, Bosia Witch.

However, Angel did not have a direct method to contact Bosia Witch, so he could only request the Mushroom Witch Regina, who was still in the Barbarian Cave, to help establish contact.

”Regina has replied; she agreed to help you get in touch with Bosia and will put in some good words for Qi Li. However, ultimately, whether Bosia is willing to assist is something Regina cannot guarantee.” Tree Spirit said.

Angel: ”I understand; as long as contact can be made with Bosia, it’s enough.”

Tree Spirit: ”Regina will probably contact Bosia within the next couple of days. Once it happens, I’ll inform you. Within these two days, try not to disappear again.”

Angel cheerfully sent a reply: ”Rest assured, I won’t.”

Finally, bidding farewell to Tree Spirit, Angel then logged off.

...

Returning to the quiet room.

Angel set aside some of the complex thoughts and began to sit quietly, reminiscing about the experiences in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Silver Coral Island, World Grinding Day...

Two Immortal Realms led by special NPCs emerged in a short period, something Angel hadn’t anticipated before.

However, from this, it could be seen that the ”Wonderland of Dreams” authority is centered around ”people.” Previously, only Angel and Laplace’s Temporal Body existed at the Crystal Origin, and there weren’t many people, making the probability of triggering the Fairyland Duplication very low. But as New Residents increased, Tomorrow Town, Silver Coral Island, World Grinding Day... etc., Fairylands quickly followed.

Previously, Angel was unaware of the existence of special NPCs, but after the arrival of the first batch of New Residents, these special NPCs also appeared.

These details showed that the core of Wonderland of Dreams lies in the people or the New Residents; with the increase of New Residents, such realms are bound to densely emerge.

Angel currently isn’t sure if this is good or bad, so he can only observe for now. In the future, when the Fairyland Duplication and New Residents achieve a dynamic balance, the underlying logic of this authority will become apparent.

After the reflection, Angel didn’t remain idle but began to explore the instance queries encountered during this journey to the Crystal Origin.

First, naturally, is the Uriel Dungeon related to Luigi.

The NPC in this instance appeared in a very peculiar state: ”Dreaming State.”

Regarding the buffs, debuffs, and various status forms appearing in the Fairyland Duplication, Angel also makes distinctions, with varying levels of importance for different statuses in his mind.

For instance, in this instance called World Grinding Day, once caught by a corpse grinder, it results in a 90-hour abnormal status. Angel’s attention to this is not too high, because he can guess the various drama in the ”survival dungeons”.

But the ”Dreamseeing” status appearing in the Uriel Dungeon is different; in Angel’s heart, it is far more important than the so-called mutated corpse grinder tribe.

Because the status of the mutated corpse grinder tribe is essentially derived from the Fairyland Duplication itself, viewed from the height of ”Wonderland of Dreams,” it is under absolute control.

However, the ”Dreamseeing” status, although still controllable to a certain extent, also shows that Fairyland Authority has a ”compromise” on this status.

Otherwise, why is the start time of Main Quest 3 each day not fixed? It is because the Dreamseeing status still contains certain variables.

What clues does a status that forces Wonderland of Dreams Authority to compromise have?

What is the Dreamseeing status? Why can Luigi only perform Main Quest 3 under the Dreamseeing status? What variables are contained within the Dreamseeing status?

With these three questions, Angel immersed his thoughts into the Wonderland of Dreams Authority.

Time passed, the stars and moon alternated with the sun again, and when the wall clock’s chime echoed again, it was noon of a new day.

It was also at this moment that Angel opened his eyes.

Every time Angel immerses himself into the Ability Tree, he receives a massive flow of information. Thus, although he looks like he isn’t consuming much with his closed eyes, his spirit receives crazy impacts when receiving the information flow, making him feel abnormal exhaustion after just one night.

However, though he looked exhausted at this moment, his eyes were exceptionally bright.

After a night’s inquiry, although he didn’t clearly understand the principle of ”Dreamseeing,” he did find relevant information about ”Dreamseeing.”

It was precisely because he learned the information about ”Dreamseeing” that Angel was so excited.

Because ”Dreamseeing” really is just as the literal meaning suggests... Dreamseeing!

However, it’s not the challengers of the Fairyland Duplication dreamseeing, but the so-called NPCs in the duplication ”dreamseeing” the situations within the duplication in reality!

Angel’s excitement stems from the fact that ”Dreamseeing” can directly influence reality!

This is the first time Angel encountered an authority that can connect with reality!

Angel kept his excitement in check and began sorting out the information he retrieved.

First, the ”Dreamseeing” status can only trigger in living NPCs in reality.

Although Angel hasn’t found further related information, from this point of information, it can be roughly understood that some NPCs in the Fairyland Duplication might still be alive in reality.

It is precisely because a portion of NPCs are alive in reality that they can trigger the ”Dreamseeing” status.

As for how NPCs are connected to real-life people, he hasn’t found that, but according to Angel’s personal understanding, most Fairyland Duplications originate from... the dreams of life.

And the initial Fairyland Duplication was born after the ”Eliminators” sent by Dream Realm died.

These Eliminators, frankly, are monsters materialized in life’s dreams, or the root source of nightmares.

If the person having this nightmare is still alive in reality, then the Fairyland Duplication evolved from the dream can establish a connection with the person in reality.

Of course, this is just Angel’s speculation; he currently doesn’t know if the true situation is like this.

Second, NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status are different from those in a normal status.

NPCs in a normal status are actually the gifted people created by the Fairyland Authority, given a certain personality and memory, with corresponding operational logic.

Whereas NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status are essentially taken over by people in reality, bearing a more self-oriented personality and possessing an enigmatic humanity.

It is precisely this enigmatic humanity that introduces certain variables to NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status.

Third, everything experienced by NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status will be mirrored in reality.

Put simply, everything experienced by NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status in the Fairyland Duplication will ultimately become a dream they had.

Conversely, for people in reality wishing to enter the Fairyland Duplication and become NPCs in the ”Dreamseeing” status, there must be a prerequisite: sleep.

Only by sleeping can one dream; only by dreaming can one enter the Fairyland Duplication, becoming an NPC in the ”Dreamseeing” status.

This represents the second variable.

When do people in reality sleep? This is a variable that Fairyland Authority finds difficult to control.

Some sleep a bit during the day, a bit at night; some only sleep at midnight; some, injured in reality, fall unconscious and sleep for several days straight.

Because of the uncertainty in sleep time and sleep state, the ”Dreamseeing” status changes daily.

This is why Luigi’s fairyland hint explicitly states: ”The daily challenge time is not fixed; the specific challenge time will be issued by the fairyland hint.”

Because Fairyland Authority cannot control when people in reality will be sleeping.

The only thing Fairyland Authority can control is: when the dreamer is a mortal, they will definitely sleep, likely every day. With a mortal body, especially as they age, even though they can stay up late, it’s impossible to keep doing so for too long.

This is also why Fairyland Authority declares ”can challenge once daily,” because the reality of Uriel likely sleeps every day.

The above is the information Angel found related to ”Dreamseeing.”

In summary, it boils down to two points: discovering the variables and confirming that Uriel is still alive in reality.

Although the total amount of information is still limited, and deeper information is almost absent, just the surface information is enough to make him excited.

Wonderland of Dreams can influence reality!

Though it currently only influences the dreams of mortals, the future is promising!

Moreover, with Wonderland of Dreams paving the way, might there be more authorities appearing to impact reality in the future?

Just thinking about it makes Angel very excited.

After all, in the past, he could only use the Dream Conch to pull the dead things of reality into the Wilderness of Dreams, influencing the Dream System’s Nightmare Realm through reality. But now, he can reverse it, influencing reality within the Dream System’s Nightmare Realm.

Although he can’t control this influence, it represents a significant step forward!

As the saying goes, the future is promising! Quite promising!

However, that being said, although Angel has a rough understanding of the ”Dreamseeing” status, the more he understands, the more doubts arise.

For instance, Angel currently has two questions that he can’t think through clearly.
