Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3110: Chapter 3111: Elf Forest

He was a towering man, three meters tall, with spiral devil horns on his head and a face covered in a scraggly beard.

According to the Observer’s description, this must undoubtedly be Camilleon.

After logging in, he did not appear as surprised as others who first entered the Wilderness of Dreams, but rather looked around with a gaze full of interest.

Every so often, he would touch the alley walls and corner moss with his hands, seemingly using this to sense this ”new world.”

This calm reaction was remarkably similar to the Observer’s.

Camilleon stayed in place for two minutes, as if he had already grasped a considerable amount of information about himself and the outside world. He didn’t linger but headed out of the alley.

Before going online, he knew from the Observer that he would arrive in a place called Originheart City, and his short-term goal was to find a person named Jon and obtain a Mother Tree Interlinker to see the Wilderness Traveler News. Then, he would find an airship here to head to the New City, where there are indigenous wizards as well as some magical creatures.

Now the question is: Where is Jon?

Camilleon walked to the mouth of the alley, stood in the shadow, and looked out at the bustling street, a bit perplexed.

Should he inquire from these passersby?

However, his appearance was vastly different from those outside, would going out directly frighten them?

By the way, the Observer seemed to have mentioned before that there was a transcendent group in Originheart City called the Sin Hunting Group, part of the indigenous extraordinary system of the Wilderness of Dreams. If he caused chaos in Originheart City, would the Sin Hunting Group come out to meet him?

If so, wouldn’t this be an opportunity to study the extraordinary abilities of the Sin Hunting Group?

Thinking of this, Camilleon suddenly felt eager, and the bustling crowd around him seemed more exciting.

However, before Camilleon could take any action, he heard a rustling sound behind him.

”This very tall, very tall guest, are you, are you Mr. Camilleon?” a childish voice reached Camilleon’s ears.

He turned around and saw a door in the alley that was once locked had been opened. A little boy in black and white piano key suspenders was peeking curiously outside.

”Why is there a child here?” Camilleon shook his head, ”No, how does this child know my name?”

Camilleon leaned closer to the little boy’s face, which frightened the latter into shrinking back with a pale face.

”Hey, I’m asking you a question, how do you know my name? Did the old codger tell you?”

”O-old... are you referring to Mentor Jon?” the little boy timidly spoke.

When Camilleon mentioned ”old codger,” he naturally meant the Observer, yet this child clearly misunderstood. However, despite the misunderstanding, upon hearing the name ”Jon,” Camilleon immediately reacted.

”Did Jon send you?”

”I-I’m here to find Mr. Camilleon.”

”I am Camilleon.”

The little boy’s eyes lit up: ”Great, Mr. Camilleon, my name is Adar, and Mentor Jon sent me over. The mentor said he’s waiting for you in the theater.”

As he spoke, little Adar pointed in the direction of a side door, indicating he would lead the way.

Camilleon assumed this was arranged by the Observer and didn’t think too much of it, nodding, ”Okay, then you lead the way.”

Normally, it’s others who come to see him proactively, and he rarely goes to meet others; but this is an unfamiliar territory, and the other party may not necessarily know his identity either.

Although he was quite curious about the Sin Hunting Group, since the theater seemed to be nearby, he’d first go see Jon and obtain the Mother Tree Interlinker.

Adar immediately nodded and was about to lead Camilleon towards the theater. However, just then, Camilleon bent down, grabbed Adar’s arm, and whispered in his ear, ”Don’t shout, help me see who is on the window of the treehouse up at an angle behind us.”

Adar hesitated for a moment, then instinctively turned back to look.

However, he only saw a figure quickly disappearing from the window, not clearly seeing the appearance, but the figure seemed kind of familiar...

”Mr. Camilleon, I didn’t get a clear look.” Adar said somewhat apologetically.

Camilleon had actually been glancing at the treehouse window with his peripheral vision all along, so he knew Adar wasn’t lying; the other party indeed realized something and left quickly.

It’s a pity Camilleon had been glancing sidelong before and didn’t clearly see the other’s appearance. He initially wanted Adar to help take a look, but he didn’t expect the other party would be so vigilant.

Who could it be... Why are they always observing me?

If it was someone arranged by the Observer, why not come to see me openly rather than spying?

Could it be someone from the Sin Hunting Group?

Thinking more carefully, his appearance was very different from others. Although it didn’t cause external commotion yet, his mere appearance could probably attract attention from those with an agenda.

The Sin Hunting Group are transcendents, and they may have some ability to surveil the entire city.

Thinking of this, Camilleon felt a bit of regret. If they really were from the Sin Hunting Group, it could have been a good chance for a meeting...

Camilleon walked into the theater, while on the other side, Angel in the Treehouse Bar window let out a long sigh of relief.

Indeed, one should not underestimate a Legendary Wizard; even with an initialized body’s physical qualities, they can sense his gaze, simply terrifying.

His inspiration and consciousness far exceed those of others in the Wilderness of Dreams.

But if being watched directly with the naked eye can be detected, what about a God’s View?

Angel did not approach the window again to look, but chose to use a God’s View to observe Camilleon instead.

He saw Camilleon walk into the theater and meet Jon, from whom he obtained the Mother Tree Interlinker, and had a warm chat about the Mother Tree Network.

Jon didn’t know Camilleon’s true identity, so he chatted without reservation.

Camilleon also did not expect to encounter such an imaginative mortal here. Especially when it came to his thoughts on the Mother Tree Network, many of the functions he foresaw were more advanced than those of the ”Magic Net.”

Of course, this is also because the ”Magic Net” has not been fully developed yet, while the Mother Tree Network already exists. The trajectories are different, and naturally, so are the foresights.

Nonetheless, Jon mentioned concepts such as tree groups, forums, and various boundless social features that were insightful, enough to pique Camilleon’s conversational interest.

It must be known, Camilleon is a professor at Nuke Academy, and research by legendary wizards doesn’t necessarily catch his eye, let alone having an intriguing conversation with a mortal—enough to show the importance he places on Jon.

During their conversation, Camilleon also learned the basic usage of the Mother Tree Interlinker. Judging by his enthusiastic expression, he was quite keen on the Mother Tree Network.

This made Jon very gratified.

Many wizards in New City, upon first encountering the Mother Tree Network, failed to recognize its potential and even thought of it as somewhat redundant; after all, the Wilderness of Dreams allows people from distant domains to meet here, and the Mother Tree Network is just literal chatting, entirely meaningless.

Even Lord Rhein felt this way initially.

Therefore, upon seeing a Transcendent who, upon first contact, valued the potential of the Mother Tree Network so much, Jon felt a sense of comfort. Consequently, he chatted quite a bit with Camilleon about the forward-looking functions of the Mother Tree Network.

Camilleon was so engaged in the conversation that he almost missed the airship’s departure time.

Although Camilleon wanted to continue talking with Jon, he considered that the airship only came once every few days, and he would be leaving the Southern Domain soon, unable to enter the Wilderness of Dreams after leaving, so he temporarily bid farewell to Jon and, following a theater attendant, headed towards the airship.

At this moment, Ironclad Granny and others had already been waiting on the airship for quite some time.

...

Angel put away the God’s View; he could now confirm that observing through the God’s View would not trigger Camilleon’s inspiration consciousness.

This sounds normal, but to Angel, it is quite significant.

It implies that the Wilderness of Dreams holds a high position of authority.

Of course, a high position doesn’t necessarily mean strength.

For instance, if a legendary level Dream Realm creature came from the void outside the Wilderness of Dreams, it would be very difficult to ward off with the current defensive power of the Wilderness of Dreams.

However, if truly powerful Dream Realm creatures were to attack, it wouldn’t be completely without means to resist. Recklessly releasing authority from the principal body of the Nightmare Domain back to the world would be a desperate measure.

It’s just that this road comes with a rather heavy cost.

Putting aside irrelevant thoughts, Angel chatted in the group with Ironclad Granny and others, telling them Camilleon would be coming over soon, and then abandoned the idea of further observation.

With Ironclad Granny and Tree Spirit present, Angel was confident that what happened next shouldn’t require him.

He did not remain long in the Wilderness of Dreams but went offline.

After going offline, Angel sank his thoughts into the depths of his Thought Space’s Ability Tree, searching through the authority of the Crystal Origin of Dreams—Wonderland of Dreams.

Since leaving Silver Coral Island, he’s been quite curious about the existence form of such a special NPC as Maggie.

Because only Maggie can actively leave the instance of the Immortal Realm, and she even created a bottomless pool in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

How did she manage this? If she can freely enter and exit the instance of the Immortal Realm, does she count as a special indigenous person?

Also, have all those supposed temporal bodies placed in the Forest of Memories by Laplace also turned into such special NPCs?

With all these questions, Angel began to explore the authority information in the Wonderland of Dreams.

The authority information in the Wonderland of Dreams is quite extensive; although it can be searched through the mind, this kind of search is very vague. For example, if Angel wants to find information about Treasure Mermaid, there are at least tens of thousands of items, and to know which are related to Maggie, he must check them one by one.

This leads to a constant flow of information into Angel’s mind.

And he can’t accurately control the size of this information flow; if a massive amount of information accidentally rushes in, he must handle it carefully bit by bit to avoid mental shock due to too much information.

Thus, Angel spends most of his time processing discarded messages.

When Angel manages to clear his dizzy head, he finds himself facing a new day’s noon.

That night, he paid the price of being utterly exhausted, but the useful information he found was very little... This is also why he rarely roams through various authorities via the Ability Tree.

While useful information was scarce, it wasn’t entirely absent.

According to the information he found, indeed, all temporal bodies in the Forest of Memories had been integrated into the Wonderland of Dreams. However, not all have become NPCs, while some of the temporal bodies seem to have other purposes, but Angel didn’t find out what specifically, only that according to search records, they seem related to Immortal Realm rewards.

Could it be... that Laplace’s temporal bodies have become enchanted land tools?

Additionally, Angel also uncovered an important piece of intelligence: if the Forest of Memories continues operating, it seems it can continually create NPCs and instances.

In other words, as long as the Forest of Memories is supplied with appropriate memories, under its rule’s condensation, paired with the authority of the Wonderland of Dreams, a steady stream of new NPCs and instances will be produced.

This is the second instance-creation method Angel knew about in the Immortal Realm.

The other one is absorbing the dreams of life to generate instances.

This intelligence implies that it’s hard for the instances in the Immortal Realm to ever reach a day of complete exploration; as long as there’s the Forest of Memories or dreams of life, the Holy Wonderland authority will continue functioning.

For Angel, this doesn’t count as good intelligence. If more instances similar to the ”Sunshine Circus” were born, wouldn’t that mean being ”summoned” from time to time in the future?

Angel now hopes for fewer and fewer of these summon-type instances.

The above two pieces of information are considered the most important among the information Angel found; the rest, though related to special NPCs, are relatively less important.

Angel learned some intelligence related to Laplace’s temporal bodies, for instance—

Laplace has a temporal body which is a ”Mournful Night Crow.” It also became a special NPC, and the instance it controls is called ”Night Pure Land.”

The specific type of Night Pure Land instance is unknown to Angel. But according to the information he found, Night Pure Land seems to be in a state of Eternal Night inside.

If in the future the Crystal Origin of Dreams has new residents who enjoy nightlife, perhaps they could move to Night Pure Land?

But who knows how the Mournful Night Crow’s personality is; will it be as agreeable as Treasure Mermaid Maggie?

Besides the Mournful Night Crow, Angel also found out about a temporal body of a ”Blood Scent Enchanting Demon,” who controls an instance named ”Dungeon of Desire.”

Angel glanced briefly at this instance’s information; its type is likewise unknown, but this instance seems to have numerous succubi, likely a certain type of people’s ideal place.

Since migration is impossible to Dungeon of Desire, Angel did not delve into research.

Aside from this, there is another place Angel finds suitable for migration.

It’s an instance named ”Elf Forest,” controlled by another special NPC transformed from a temporal body, this special NPC being a ”Rainbow Sprite.”

Although the condition inside the instance is unknown, just the ”forest” landscape alone could produce considerable resources, very suitable for habitation.

Yet purely an instance’s name isn’t enough to attract Angel’s attention.

The reason Angel is focused on Elf Forest is because, amongst the massive information, he discovered the emergence method of this special NPC.
