Chapter 3116: Chapter 3117: World Grinding Day

Since Luigi has gone offline, staying outside the Fairyland Duplication no longer holds any meaning, so everyone dispersed.

Glaipnir prepared to return to Rabbit Town to welcome the new residents who arrived today and conveniently test who can enter Silver Coral Island.

To make the Rainbow Sprite appear, a new gathering place must be built, and those who can enter Silver Coral Island are very important, as they can bring back resources from Silver Coral Island to build the gathering place.

Laplace also prepared to go to Rabbit Town, but Rabbit Town is just a stopover; her ultimate goal is to enter Silver Coral Island to inspect the fishing spots on the coast.

Angel didn’t have a specific place he needed to go; he planned to first discuss his upcoming performance matters with Luigi and then return to the quiet room outside to explore the ”Dreamseeing” state.

The three of them went offline together.

In the Heart Space, Luigi was eagerly waiting for Angel.

However, Angel did not immediately pay attention to him but instead immersed his focus in the Gate of Dreams. After Glaipnir and Laplace went back online and were transported to Rabbit Town, he then directed his thoughts towards Luigi opposite him.

”Do you have any plans now?” Angel: ”There are six more challenge opportunities for Main Quest 3. How do you plan to arrange them?”

Angel was well aware that it’s somewhat unrealistic for Luigi’s skills to improve drastically within six short days to reach the level of the top three seats of the Empire Music Group. So, to successfully clear Main Quest 3, they can only work on the selection of the pieces performed.

Six challenge opportunities mean six different pieces.

Angel wanted to know how Luigi was going to arrange these six pieces.

Luigi thought for a moment and said, ”I know the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy have many collections of scores, some of them rare. Earlier, Wolftooth Di-Bone had tried to lure me to buy them multiple times, but I refused.”

Luigi mentioned this, glanced at Angel and coughed, ”At that time, I didn’t have much desire for scores; I wanted poetry collections more... But times have changed; to pass the Main Quest, I must go to the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.”

Luigi portrayed himself as someone willing to compromise and reluctantly, ultimately refusing to admit he was ”weak.”

Angel knew the truth but was too lazy to rebuke him, so he just followed up with Luigi, ”Do Mirror Sea Scholars actually collect scores? Is there a market for scores in Daylight Mirror Domain?”

From what Angel had seen, the life forms in the Mirror Domain focused almost entirely on increasing their power because the Daylight Mirror Domain is fraught with destructive Mirror Light, and without power to serve as a foundation, one could easily be consumed by the shattered Mirror Light.

Therefore, he had previously believed that the goods sold by the Ancient Tooth Fairy were focused on increasing power or practical use.

Scores, however, seemed more inclined towards the building of spiritual civilization.

”I don’t know if there is a market for scores in the Daylight Mirror Domain. But the Ancient Tooth Fairy... or rather, the entire Tooth Fairy race, really loves music.”

Angel was puzzled, ”The Tooth Fairy race loves music?”

Luigi nodded, ”Yes, if you don’t believe me, recall the names of the Ancient Tooth Fairies you’ve met.”

Angel thought about it; among the few Ancient Tooth Fairies he knew, besides the ”Wolftooth Di-Bone” that Luigi mentioned, there were Wolftooth’s daughter ”Dragon Tooth Guitar,” Wolftooth’s student ”Shark Tooth Scale,” and ”Snake Fang Note.”

Flute, Guitar, Scale, Note... Angel somewhat understood Luigi’s meaning.

For any race, any life form, after forming self-awareness, the meaning represented by their name is very significant.

Based on the few Ancient Tooth Fairies Angel had seen, names are linked with musical symbols, indicating their emphasis on music.

Luigi said, ”Now you see? It’s not just music; the Tooth Fairy race also loves other arts, like Bear Tooth Twilight Drum, Tiger Tooth Feather Pen, Rabbit Tooth Spin Dance... etc. Their names do not necessarily represent what they personally are good at but definitely represent the hobbies of their ancestors or family.”

In summary, the Ancient Tooth Fairies bring not only commerce to the Mirror Domain but also art.

”Nevertheless, all that is not important. You just need to know the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy definitely have precious scores,” Luigi said. ”My plan is to find these rare scores and discover the most representative works within them, then attempt to interpret them.”

Angel: ”All six pieces?”

”Of course not. I’ll choose three pieces from the Ancient Tooth Fairy’s collection, and for the remaining three...” Luigi threw Angel a ”you know what I mean” look.

Angel: ”You want me to find the remaining three pieces for you?”

Luigi nodded: ”Mainly because Uriel is also human; I’m worried the Ancient Tooth Fairy’s collection may not suit his taste, so I have to trouble you...”

Luigi’s thought process was clear to Angel, and he was willing to help Luigi find them since it’s not difficult for him. It’s a matter of posting a task in the Wilderness of Dreams; however, the main concern is...

”Are you sure you want to use scores from others for all six pieces and not challenge yourself?”

Luigi spread his hands: ”I’ve already made a challenge today... If he doesn’t think it’s enough, there’s nothing I can do.”

Seeing Luigi with a ’why would I not use a cheat when I can’ look, Angel couldn’t help but sigh. How did he ever think Luigi would sacrifice everything for art? It must have been an illusion.

”Alright, I’ll try to help you find them as soon as possible. But ultimately, whether or not you pass depends on Uriel’s judgment... If he only cares about your performance skills regardless of the scores, then all your effort might be in vain.”

”I believe my skills, even if not matching the supposedly top seats he mentioned, aren’t far off. If the skills are similar, it comes down to the scores,” Luigi said. ”Tomorrow’s performance will reveal if he is doing a comprehensive evaluation.”

If tomorrow Luigi performs a rare score and the seating assignment remains: Twenty seats.

That would mean Uriel is indeed focused solely on skills.

If the seating changes, it would indicate a comprehensive evaluation.

Luigi personally believes that it’s likely to be a comprehensive evaluation. For top-tier masters, skills are nearly indistinguishable, and it’s the instruments and scores that distinguish them, with the Main Quest 3 fixing the instrument, only the quality of the scores makes a difference.

Angel nodded, not saying much more; they would find out after the performance tomorrow.

”Then I’ll first head to the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy,” Luigi said. ”Oh, remember to send the scene of my duet with Uriel today to Mentor Jon~ And tell him for me that I will visit him personally once this is over.”

Angel nodded, as he would have done that without Luigi asking. After all, Jon is quite curious about Luigi’s performance.

Luigi finished speaking and left the Heart Space.

Angel also prepared to return to reality, post the score-seeking task in the Wilderness of Dreams, then talk with Jon and proceed with researching ”Dreamseeing.”

However, before Angel could leave, Luigi, who had just left, returned to the Heart Space.

Furthermore, Luigi’s expression was quite strange, accompanied by a hint of... seriousness.

Angel wondered if Luigi had encountered some kind of danger outside.

At this moment, Luigi spoke: ”Something happened!”

Angel’s expression immediately turned serious, and he asked, ”What happened?”

Luigi: ”World Grinding Day has arrived!”

Angel: ”???”

...

Crystal Origin of Dreams, Rabbit Town.

As soon as Angel came online, he saw panicked crowds running out of the Rabbit Mansion.

Not long after, dozens of people ran out of the mansion, shouting as they ran, things like ”The mushrooms are eating people,” ”So many mushrooms,” ”The mushrooms went crazy...”

Angel immediately switched to God’s View, looking into this Rabbit Mansion.

At this time, the inside of the Rabbit Mansion was already empty below the fifteenth floor, empty and showing no abnormalities. But from the sixteenth to the twentieth floor, Angel saw a large number of mycelium. These mycelium were based on the eighteenth floor and were spreading up and down, occupying five floors in a short time.

In one of the rooms on the eighteenth floor, there was a giant mushroom three meters high. This mushroom emitted an ominous sanguine aura, and on the surface of the mushroom cap, there was a woman’s face.

Because the surrounding mycelium spread from this giant mushroom, it can be confirmed that this mushroom should be the Origin of Chaos this time.

Angel didn’t immediately explore the mushroom but instead withdrew his sight and looked at Glaipnir who walked over from the side.

”What exactly happened here?” Angel asked Glaipnir.

A few minutes ago, Luigi returned to the Heart Space and told him, ”Something’s not right, World Grinding Day is here.” After Angel’s careful inquiry, he learned that through the synchronization of the Temporal Body, Luigi was told by Glaipnir to quickly get Angel online, and the reason for getting online was ”World Grinding Day.”

However, what exactly ”World Grinding Day” is, Luigi must have known part of the situation through the synchronization, but explaining it was troublesome, so he let Angel see for himself.

So, when Angel came online, he saw such a scene of mass escape.

Upon hearing Angel’s inquiry, Glaipnir sighed: ”Here’s the situation...”

As Glaipnir narrated, Angel gradually understood the current situation.

To put it simply, the people of Rabbit Town entered Silver Coral Island, brought out a lot of resources, and among them, one person brought out a lot of mushrooms.

These mushrooms were found by him in the woods on Silver Coral Island, and he saw small animals eating them, confirming that they were non-toxic. He himself sliced and ate them raw, discovered these mushrooms to be delicious, and decided to bring some back for his wife to try.

When he brought out the mushrooms, Glaipnir had checked it specially, confirmed there was no problem, and allowed him to bring them home.

But after these mushrooms were brought out, they mutated in just half a day.

They turned into a huge mushroom with an Abyssal mouth, directly ”consuming” him.

His wife saw this, got a fright, and shouted ”The mushroom is eating people” while rushing forward, trying to fight the mushroom.

As a result, his wife was also swallowed.

Another person was present as a guest, saw this scene and ran out quickly, eventually escaping. It was from him that Glaipnir learned the specifics of the situation.

While running out, this person also kept shouting ”The mushrooms are eating people” and urged everyone else to run.

But some people didn’t listen, and didn’t run; others were still asleep and hadn’t woken up, consequently getting ”swallowed” by the spreading mycelium.

Everyone who touched the mycelium disappeared.

Afterward, it was when Angel came online and saw everyone running outside...

”Is the person who brought back the mushrooms living on the eighteenth floor?” Angel asked.

”That’s right... did you see it?”

Angel nodded: ”The big mushroom is on the eighteenth floor, and on its cap, I saw a woman’s face.”

Upon hearing Angel’s words, Glaipnir raised an eyebrow: ”A woman’s face? As expected, Laplace wasn’t wrong; it’s... the Mushroom Concubine.”

”Mushroom Concubine? Laplace knows her name? Could it be... this is also her Temporal Body?” Angel paused, suddenly realizing something: ”By the way, where’s Laplace?”

Glaipnir: ”She also touched the mycelium...”

Next, Glaipnir briefly explained the situation of the Mushroom Concubine.

As Angel guessed, the Mushroom Concubine was indeed Laplace’s Temporal Body.

Due to the rapid unfolding of the situation, Laplace had just come online and hadn’t had a chance to go to Silver Coral Island before the incident occurred.

And upon seeing the mycelium, Laplace immediately speculated it might be the Mushroom Concubine.

The Mushroom Concubine is also Laplace’s Temporal Body, and Laplace was very familiar with the mycelium of the Mushroom Concubine.

The Mushroom Concubine’s race is ”Choomo tribe,” originating from a remote world. The Choomo tribe is called mushroom people by the local Indigenous People, because their appearance is human form mycelium, and they possess high intelligence.

This race can self-divide, rapidly generating numerous Choomo companions, which by this trait alone, destined them to be opposed by the local Indigenous People.

However, the Choomo tribe’s temperament is relatively mild, with strong territorial nature, demanding a lot from the habitat without occupying all the territory, which allowed co-existence with the Indigenous People.

But later, the Choomo tribe seemed to have been infected by some sort of virus, undergoing some mutation that made them more aggressive.

The Mushroom Concubine was born as a new Choomo under this mutation.

”Initially when Laplace chose a Temporal Body, she thought the Mushroom Concubine’s personality was similar to the original Choomo people. After creating a quasi-Temporal Body, she discovered something was amiss. So, she placed her in the Forest of Memories.”

”Those devoured are likely entering the Immortal Realm instance derived from the Mushroom Concubine.”

”Because the Mushroom Concubine is highly aggressive, the instance she derived may be dangerous. So, Laplace decided to first go into the instance to check the situation. If it’s possible to rescue people, then to first save the New Residents.”
