Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3108: Chapter 3109: Miumiu

Looking at the paper filled with ”questions,” Miumiu’s initially relaxed expression gradually became solemn, and finally, her eyes filled with terror...

”Something’s not right, who am I... who is my mother, who is my father...”

Miumiu trembled her lips, muttering softly.

One cannot know what she thought of while muttering, but suddenly, with a scream, Miumiu rolled her eyes back and fainted on the desk.

Although Miumiu had already passed out, Angel’s gaze was still fixated on her. However, at this moment, he was not seeing Miumiu on the desk but penetrating through some kind of special protection into a deeper world.

This is a pitch-black world.

All around was dark mist, nothing could be seen.

The only light was Miumiu.

This beam of light was like the spotlight in a stage play, descending from the unknown void, shining upon Miumiu.

In this strange world, Miumiu wrapped her arms around her legs, sitting on the ground, her head resting on her knees, her eyes vacant. She looked like a puppet without any spirit intelligence.

Only that theatrical light shone on her, highlighting her uniqueness in this strange world.

When Angel gazed into the darkness, streams of information related to this strange world surged into his mind.

”Miumiu’s Mind Space (The Only Reality)”

In Tomorrow Town, the mind space is not just a conceptual space, it truly exists, it’s a real space materialized by the special energy of Tomorrow Town. And the so-called ”Only Reality,” means that at present, this is the most real place in Tomorrow Town.

Even though it’s not the first time seeing a mind space, Angel still finds it fascinating.

Because he knows what will happen next.

— A one-act play.

Or you could say, a play unique to Miumiu.

As Angel pondered, the one-act play began.

Under the beam of light, Miumiu’s vacant eyes slowly regained their sparkle. She gradually lifted her head and looked around with some confusion.

”Where is this? Why am I the only one here?” Miumiu’s eyes carried a hint of wonder; she recalled she was recording inside a room just a moment ago...

Thinking about the content she was recording, Miumiu’s expression became richer.

Could it be that she discovered the problem outside, and was thus pulled into here by the demon creating these problems?

Miumiu initially intended to stand up, but at that moment, her legs inexplicably became weak. She could only look around helplessly, anxious about the terrifying demon that might appear at any moment.

However, she did not wait for the demon to appear, instead, what descended was a piece of white paper from above.

The spotlight in the void illuminated the white paper; it floated towards Miumiu like a leisurely paper crane, swaying left and right, bobbing up and down.

Miumiu also noticed the white paper. She glanced over, vaguely seeing that there seemed to be words on it, and the handwriting appeared to be her own.

”That’s right, this is the same kind of white paper I used to record outside. Could it be the contents I wrote outside?”

Miumiu stretched out her hand, intending to take the white paper and check its contents. However, her hand did not actually touch the white paper but rather passed through it.

Miumiu was bewildered for quite a while before realizing that this white paper was not real, but an illusion.

An illusion is still an illusion, but the content on it should not be illusory, since she already saw a few words on it.

This time, Miumiu did not try to touch the white paper. Instead, she squinted her eyes, attempting to see clearly the records on the swaying white paper.

”My name is Miumiu... I am seriously ill... I agreed to the suggestion from the royal family...”

”I came to a world full of crystals, but before I could react...”

Miumiu tried her best, only seeing a few characters from the front row of the records, and even those were incomplete.

As Miumiu wanted to memorize them, the white paper had already fallen to the ground and transformed into ripples of light like water waves, disappearing without a trace...

The white paper disappeared? Whose white paper is this? Is it mine?

But the records on it, why do I not remember any of it? My name is indeed Miumiu, but I am not sick, right? What is the suggestion from the royal family, and who is the royal family? What is the world of crystals?

Miumiu felt as if she was trapped in some scheme; she didn’t know if she was a pawn or an abandoned piece in this scheme, but she was unwilling to be manipulated and refused to succumb.

At this moment, a surge of power suddenly emerged from within her mind, supporting Miumiu to stand up.

She didn’t know what she was going to do next, but at this moment, she felt a little less panic and a bit more calmness.

This sudden emotional shift was indeed odd, and Miumiu could perceive this oddity; however, she could not change it. Yet compared to panicking and running around blindly, being able to calm down now and analyze the situation was certainly beneficial to her.

Miumiu tried to analyze the records on the illusory white paper and combine it with the content she recorded before, to see if there was any connection between them.

Unfortunately, the clues were too few, no matter how calm, she could not create clues from nothing.

As Miumiu’s mind was overwhelmed, white papers descended again from mid-air, but this time it was two sheets, and their descent was faster.

This time, Miumiu did not try to touch the white papers; whether they were illusions or not, she planned to read more of the contents before they hit the ground.

This is the conclusion she reached after learning from her previous experience.

Five seconds later, the white papers landed, also transforming into ripples of light, silently dispersing.

Miumiu did not care about the vanishing white papers; instead, she swiftly sorted the information memorized in her mind...

Before long, more white papers rained down under the beam of light from the sky, and this time it was a direct fall of ten sheets.

The handwriting on the white papers was all hers.

Though Miumiu did not remember writing them, these details were not important right now. What mattered most was to memorize more information before the ten white papers hit the ground.

Another ten white papers landed and dissipated, followed by a doubling of white papers from the sky.

In the next five minutes, Miumiu saw over a hundred white papers, all descending from an unknown height, all disappearing upon the earth.

She obviously couldn’t memorize so much information, but many of the contents on the white papers repeated, so she only needed to glance at them and memorize the words she hadn’t seen before.

Even so, the amount of content she’s memorized at this time is still not substantial.

Miumiu waited for a while again, and this time, the sky dropped a piece of white paper once more, but this time the white paper became just one, and it had an ink pen clipped to it.

Miumiu looked at it in confusion and found that the contents recorded on the white paper... were exactly what she had previously written outside.

Moreover, after the white paper landed, it did not disappear... It and the ink pen just lay there on the ground.

Miumiu touched the white paper to confirm it was real, then picked it up.

Looking at the white paper with lots of blank space and the pen filled with ink, Miumiu seemed to understand something in a trance.

She picked up the pen and began to write and draw on the white paper:

”If there is another Samsara, this is what I leave for the next Miumiu in the cycle. I’ve removed a lot of unimportant information; what is recorded now is crucial.”

”I am Miumiu, a detective, and this must never be forgotten.”

”This is Tomorrow Town, a place shrouded by eerie powers. Although it’s named ’Tomorrow Town,’ it never sees tomorrow, as it endlessly repeats the same day.”

”Tomorrow Town has a Day One, which is the day I entered Tomorrow Town. This day is very important.”

”An unknown voice once told me that to leave Tomorrow Town, I must first find all the discordant elements there and then go to the confession booth in the church to express my findings. The so-called discordance refers to the differences from Day One in the repeated subsequent days. So, I remind once more that remembering Day One is crucial.”

”Each day will repeat, and with each day, I will lose a bit of memory. In the end, I may become a wandering soul in Tomorrow Town, so I must solve the mystery as soon as possible.”

”Previously, I recorded the scenario of Day One in words, but words are easily lost, so starting today, I will use drawings for records. I will draw what I know from Day One.”

”What I draw isn’t everything. Thus, I need to record more. Although I may forget the situation of Day One, remember that I am a detective; trust my instincts, and note down anything that seems off. In the confession booth, more can be said but never less, so recording more oddities is never wrong.”

”To you in the cycle, may we encourage each other.”

Miumiu could record these contents because she saw the corresponding information on the previous white paper.

And she knew that those pieces of white paper were left by Miumiu in previous cycles.

In other words, those were all left by herself.

Nearly a hundred sheets of white paper meant she had cycled in Tomorrow Town a hundred times. She didn’t know how long had passed outside, but she could be sure that the time here had issues.

Perhaps the next time she went to the confession booth, she should mention the discordance of the time flow.

Miumiu pondered for a moment, threw the paper and pen onto the ground... This time, the paper and pen did not remain but turned into ripples of light just like the previous disappearing white paper.

”As expected, the cycle continues. I must leave here; I am Miumiu, a detective.”

”I will unravel all the mysteries of Tomorrow Town and will leave here.”

As for the ”Crystal Origin,” ”unknown voice,” and ”Kingdom” recorded on the white paper, they are no longer important. These can be explored after leaving Tomorrow Town.

What matters most now is to solve the riddle, truly bringing Tomorrow Town as its name suggests, into a new day.

With this thought, Miumiu stepped into the darkness.

Darkness swallowed Miumiu, but she did not get lost in it. When she opened her eyes, she had already returned to the outside world.

The white paper she recorded earlier was no longer on the table, and Miumiu didn’t know where it went, maybe to that dark world?

There was no need to delve into the whereabouts of the white paper. Miumiu looked outside: ”Now it’s time to find the discordance, starting with the nonexistent parents.”

Miumiu stepped firmly and walked out the door.

...

Meanwhile, from God’s View, Angel looked at Miumiu’s departing figure with some relief.

He previously told Jeanne that the new resident in another Fairyland Duplication had stronger analytical ability than Jeanne.

Now, it seems this is true.

Miumiu not only has strong analytical ability, but she always grasps one key point: ”In Samsara, one must see the truth.”

And this truth was summarized by Miumiu in one sentence: I am called Miumiu, I am a detective.

No matter how many times Miumiu cycles here, even if she doesn’t enter the Mind Space, she always remembers she is a detective.

But Angel knew that Miumiu’s actual profession was not a detective.

On Day One, Angel had a conversation with her as the ”unknown voice,” her real profession was a painter, just someone who liked to read detective novels, a detective enthusiast.

However, Miumiu forcibly changed her cognition, continuously hypnotizing herself into believing she was a detective, for one reason only: only by making Miumiu in the cycle think she is a detective will she have the continuous intrinsic motivation to solve mysteries.

Moreover, Miumiu must believe she is a detective, and trust her instincts, which will enable her, amidst the constant loss of memory in the cycle, to complete all discordant parts through subconscious intuition.

Otherwise, relying solely on a record of Day One to find all discordances would be extremely difficult.

Miumiu performed excellently, better than Jeanne.

This made Angel very gratified.

He came to Tomorrow Town this time to give Miumiu a boost... Although Jeanne said she could come, Angel didn’t think Jeanne could make it here so quickly, and even if she did, she might not solve Tomorrow Town’s mystery.

The most important thing is to find the discordances in Tomorrow Town, which is merely the first ”task” given by Tomorrow Town.

Even Angel doesn’t know if there are subsequent tasks after completing this task.

If there are follow-up tasks, will they be more difficult?

After all, Miumiu falling into the Immortal Realm was due to Angel’s miscalculation, leading to some twists and turns for the new residents. So, Angel decided to come and help Miumiu.

However, seeing Miumiu’s performance, Angel suddenly changed his mind again.

He wanted to see how far Miumiu could go, whether she could rely on her Power of the Mind to walk out of the infinite cycle of Tomorrow Town.

Angel originally wanted to talk to Miumiu in the Mind Space before, but now he chose silence.

He could see Miumiu’s inner determination; if he intervened now, it would not be beautiful.

If she truly can rely on her own ability to leave Tomorrow Town, it would be a transcendence for her.

If Tomorrow Town really has follow-up tasks, Angel believes Miumiu’s current independent puzzle-solving will become the foundation for growth at that time.

And he is eager to witness Miumiu’s growth.
